Bright Sword: Starting from Obtaining the Equipment Slot
Chapter 4, First Fight: The Advantage Lies With Me [Please Add to Favorites]
Wei Dayong escorted Yamamoto Ichiki along the side road for less than two miles before stopping.
He glanced back at what was behind him, a slight smile playing on his lips.
"Captain Yamamoto, your special forces team is well-trained. Your tactical instructor's wife is very dedicated!"
Yamamoto Ichiki's body stiffened.
"You've been following me for so long, and you're still so agile. You must have really put in a lot of hard work," Wei Dayong continued to tease casually.
Yamamoto Ichiki's expression changed; the other party wasn't bluffing him.
He did leave marks along the way, thinking he had done it discreetly, but little did he know that the Chinese man had already discovered them.
"How...how did you know?"
"You're meddling a bit too much." Wei Dayong tugged at the rope binding Yamamoto's wrists. "All you need to know is that your life is still in my hands. Let's go, let's talk somewhere else."
He pushed Yamamoto Ichiki and turned into a grove of trees by the roadside.
The grove wasn't large, but the trees were dense, and the ground was covered with fallen branches and leaves. Sunlight filtered through the gaps in the canopy, casting dappled shadows on the ground.
Wei Dayong mentally reviewed the terrain within a three-kilometer radius.
To the east of the woods was a dry ditch, to the west was a larger forest, to the north was the direction they had come from, and to the south was a gentle slope with large tracts of farmland at its foot.
This time, a special agent team of ten people arrived, spread out in a fan shape, and were rapidly approaching the forest.
The two closest people were already 300 meters away.
Wei Dayong led Yamamoto Ichiki to a thick old locust tree and stopped.
He pinned Yamamoto Ichiki against the tree trunk and tightly bound Yamamoto's hands and feet to the trunk.
Yamamoto Ichiki struggled twice, but the rope didn't budge.
"What are you going to do?"
As Yamamoto Ichiki watched his actions, a sense of foreboding welled up inside him.
Wei Dayong seemed to suddenly remember something and said to Yamamoto, "Yamamoto, how about we make a bet?"
Yamamoto was stunned, not understanding what this turn of events meant, and asked blankly, "A bet? What kind of bet?"
"Let's bet on whether I can take out your men who are catching up with us?"
"Impossible, absolutely impossible! They'll send at least a fully armed squad. You can't possibly defeat them all by yourself!" Yamamoto's first reaction upon hearing the bet was disbelief.
"Since that's the case, do you dare to make a bet? If I win, well... then you'll have to give me a whole battalion's worth of weapons and equipment!" Wei Dayong, hoping to kill two birds with one stone, announced his bet.
Yamamoto didn't believe Wei Dayong could win at all, and said fiercely, "Fine! I'll bet. What if I win?"
"If you win, then I am already dead. Consider this life a loss to you!"
Upon hearing this, Yamamoto flew into a rage and shouted, "This is not fair!"
Wei Dayong chuckled: "When I bet with you, it's about what I want! But when you bet with me, it's about what I have!"
After saying that, he took off Yamamoto's shoes and a sock, and stuffed them into his mouth.
"Stay put and don't make a sound. Just wait and see what happens!"
After saying that, he knocked the man unconscious with a karate chop, then crouched down and disappeared into the woods like a cheetah.
Wei Dayong chose the first ambush point about eighty meters southwest of the old locust tree.
There were two fallen, dead trees there, their trunks overlapping to form a natural shelter.
He lay prone behind a tree trunk, holding the tortoise shell box he had seized from the mountainside in his hand, and held his breath.
The "Wangba Box" was the standard-issue pistol for Japanese officers. It was 8mm caliber, held eight rounds, and had good close-range lethality, but its penetrating power was average.
He stuck the gun barrel out of the gap between the two tree trunks, waiting for the first target to appear.
Two special agents sneaked in from the south.
They moved very carefully, their footsteps were very light, their guns were pointed forward, and their eyes kept scanning the surrounding bushes and shrubs.
The two maintained a distance of about five meters from each other, providing cover for each other and cooperating seamlessly.
The one on the left was thinner, carrying a German-made MP38 submachine gun on his back and holding a German-made 20-round Mauser pistol in his hand. The one on the right, a stronger Japanese soldier, was holding a submachine gun.
Wei Dayong waited until they were within 30 meters before pulling the trigger.
Gunshots rang out in the woods.
The first bullet hit the Japanese soldier on the right in the chest. He groaned and fell backward.
First Blood!
The skinny Japanese soldier on the left reacted extremely quickly, immediately firing back in the direction from which the gunfire came. The bullets hit the dead tree trunk, sending up a cloud of wood chips.
Wei Dayong is no longer there.
After firing his shot, he immediately rolled into a nearby ditch and crouched low as he quickly moved away. While the skinny man was still firing at the dead tree trunk, Wei Dayong had already circled around to his side.
The second shot hit the skinny man directly in the neck, and blood splattered all over the ground.
The skinny man clutched his neck and collapsed to the ground, twitching twice before becoming still.
Double Kill!
Without pausing, Wei Dayong rushed to where the two men had fallen, picked up two submachine guns, and searched their bodies for four magazines and six grenades.
He quickly pulled off a Japanese soldier's tactical vest and put it on.
Wei Dayong inserted the magazine and grenade into his tactical vest and examined the submachine gun in his hand.
The German-made MP38 submachine gun has an effective range of 200 meters, a rate of fire of 500 rounds per minute, a magazine capacity of 32 rounds, and uses 9mm ammunition.
This gun is an absolute weapon for close-quarters combat.
He finally tucked the Mauser pistol from the Japanese soldier into his waistband, crouched down, and disappeared into the depths of the forest.
The remaining eight agents had heard the gunfire and were flanking from different directions.
Wei Dayong hid behind a large tree and activated "See in All Directions." A three-dimensional picture of the entire forest appeared in his mind, with eight red dots moving, making the enemy's position and movements clear at a glance.
Three came from the north, two flanked him from the east, and three took a longer route from the west, trying to block his retreat.
Wei Dayong calculated the distance and speed, then rushed out from behind the pine tree, heading straight for the three enemies to the north.
He ran very fast, but his footsteps made very little noise.
The original owner's Shaolin Kung Fu foundation, coupled with the 10% increase in physical attributes after activating the equipment slots, allowed him to thrive.
He moved quickly through the bushes.
The three special agents from the north advanced in a triangle formation, with the one in front carrying a Czech-made light machine gun and the two behind him holding submachine guns.
Wei Dayong stopped fifty meters away from them and hid behind a thick tree.
He rested his submachine gun in a dent in the tree trunk, aiming the muzzle at the foremost machine gunner.
He didn't fire immediately, but waited for the three Japanese soldiers to get closer.
Thirty meters.
Twenty meters.
Fifteen meters.
The machine gunner seemed to have sensed something, stopped, and looked in the direction where Wei Dayong was hiding.
Wei Dayong pulled the trigger.
The submachine gun fired a series of low, rumbling shots, bullets raining down. Before the machine gunner could even fire, he was riddled with bullets, his body falling backward, the light machine gun in his hand crashing to the ground.
Triple Kill!
The two submachine gunners behind him immediately returned fire, bullets striking the tree trunk where Wei Dayong was hiding with dull thuds. The bark was torn apart by the bullets, and wood chips flew everywhere.
Wei Dayong retreated behind the tree, changed his magazine, then rolled over, peered out from the left side of the tree, and fired another burst.
The Japanese soldier on the left was hit in the abdomen, screamed and bent over, dropping his submachine gun to the ground.
Quadra Kill!
Seeing that things were not going well, the Japanese soldier on the right turned and ran.
Wei Dayong chased after him.
The Japanese soldier ran very fast, dashing left and right among the bushes, trying to shake off Wei Dayong.
But he was fast, and Wei Dayong was even faster, catching up with him in just over ten seconds.
Wei Dayong did not fire, but instead lunged from behind and tackled the rifleman to the ground.
He pressed the Japanese soldier's back down with his knee, held the soldier's head down with his left hand, and drew his pistol from his waist with his right hand, firing a shot into the back of the soldier's head.
The gunshot rang out, and the rifleman's body went limp, ceasing his struggle.
Penta Kill! Unstoppable!
Wei Dayong stood up and quickly returned to the battleground.
He picked up the light machine gun and two submachine guns, and then searched the bodies of three Japanese soldiers for six magazines and eight grenades, preparing to gather the captured weapons and ammunition near the old locust tree.
Yamamoto Ichiki was still tied up there.
However, he had already woken up by then.
When Yamamoto Ichiki saw Wei Dayong carrying a large pile of guns back, his eyes were filled with disbelief.
His mouth was stuffed with cloth, so he couldn't make a sound; he could only whimper desperately.
Wei Dayong glanced at him, said nothing, and set up the light machine gun on a sloping hill not far from the old locust tree, pointing the muzzle at the east side of the woods.
