And less than a kilometer ahead of him, that black dot... that brown bear with a missing leg... was also moving in the same direction.

A thought flashed through He Lin's mind, a thought that, like a bolt of lightning, illuminated all the previously illogical details.

The brown bear stole the egg and was chased by a large bird, running across most of the zoo before attracting the attention of the giant golden bear. It held onto the egg the whole time, even when pursued to the limit and even after losing a leg, it didn't drop it.

It wasn't that it couldn't bear to part with the egg's nutrients; it couldn't bear to part with the egg itself. But it didn't steal the egg to eat it. It stole it to lure the big bird away.

Now, the giant bird is being held back by the golden bear. What this bear is going to do... is go back and steal the remaining eggs.

He Lin's pupils contracted sharply. She understood why Su Mu had run in that direction. He was also heading for the eggs.

Through the binoculars, Su Mu's figure disappeared through the gap in the north gate wall.

He Lin put down the binoculars and tapped her fingers lightly on the lens barrel. This person is incredibly audacious. That brown bear is a level 10 purple, advancing towards yellow, and its energy intensity is twenty times that of a level 3 job changer.

That person's energy intensity is nineteen times that of others; based on the data, the two are roughly equal.

But the difference between humans and behemoths can never be measured by data. A behemoth of the same level is at least three to five times more powerful than a human of the same level. Could that person really handle that brown bear?

He Lin hung the binoculars back around her neck and turned to look at the team members behind her.

"Ready to leave."

One of the team members pointed towards the bear enclosure, his voice trembling slightly: "They're not done fighting over there yet..."

"We're not going to fight anymore." He Lin's tone was calm. "That brown bear ran away, and the big bird will be chasing after it soon. That person has gone there too. That place will become a new battlefield, and it won't be safe here soon either. If we don't leave now, once that big bird flies over, we won't be able to leave even if we want to."

No one asked anymore.

The group packed their belongings and evacuated down the fire escape ladder on the side of the rooftop.

He Lin walked at the very back. As she reached the corner of the stairs, she glanced back in the direction of the zoo. Dust was still swirling in the bear enclosure, but the two giant beasts had already begun to move, heading towards the north gate.

She looked away and quickened her pace downstairs.

Outside the fence of the northern section of the zoo, Su Mu's tracking proved to be much more difficult than he had anticipated.

Although the brown bear had lost a leg, it was still very fast.

It knew the terrain of the area like the back of its hand; it knew exactly which road was the shortest, which wall was the lowest, and which gap it could squeeze through. Su Mu followed behind, almost losing it several times.

Fortunately, this guy was big enough that no matter how fast he went, he made a lot of noise, so Su Mu was still able to find him quickly.

Along the way, Lin Yuwei finally decided to follow.

The other party wasn't fast, but they seemed to have some special equipment that allowed them to accurately determine their location, and even observe the bear's movements before Su Mu did.

"It went into a building. Gray, seven stories, all the windows were broken. Go to the end of the alley in front of you and turn left."

Following Lin Yuwei's directions, Su Mu walked through several narrow alleys and turned a corner, finally seeing the building. Its grayish-white exterior had large areas of peeling paint, revealing the black bricks beneath.

The windows were indeed all shattered, and some of the window frames still had torn curtains hanging inside, swaying slightly in the wind.

Above the rooftop, there was a huge nest built of twigs and feathers. From below, you could see several thick, golden feathers protruding from the edge of the nest.

A brown bear is climbing the wall.

Its claws dug deep into the cracks in the brickwork of the wall, and it dragged its broken leg, climbing up piece by piece.

Its movements weren't fast, but they were steady, as if it had done it countless times. Su Mu didn't wait for it. He ran up the fire escape on the side of the building, taking three steps at a time, and rushed up to the seventh floor in one breath.

On the rooftop, the brown bear had just climbed over the wall and was squatting on the edge of the bird's nest, holding an egg in its two front paws.

The egg was a size larger than the one he had been holding before, and it was dark gold in color with fine patterns all over its surface.

It had already bitten a small hole in the eggshell, and it was putting its mouth to the opening, greedily sucking the egg yolk inside. The sucking sound wasn't loud, but it was exceptionally clear on the quiet rooftop.

Su Mu could smell that strange odor even from more than ten meters away.

It doesn't have that faint fishy smell of eggs, but rather a stronger, sweet aroma, like a blend of honey and floral scents.

The moment his nose caught that scent, every cell in his body seemed to cheer... It wasn't an illusion; it was a real, instinctive craving for high-energy substances.

He could even feel his strength slowly recovering, his muscle soreness lessening, and the burning sensation in his lungs receding.

Just smelling it has this effect. How much energy must the egg liquid itself have?

Su Mu's gaze swept over the bird's nest.

Three eggs.

One of the eggs was in the brown bear's hand; the shell had been bitten open, and the yolk was leaking out.

The other two eggs lay intact in the depression in the center of the nest, their dark golden shells gleaming warmly in the sunlight.

The brown bear heard the noise.

It raised its head from the eggshell, a strand of golden egg liquid still clinging to the corner of its mouth, its cloudy brown eyes staring at Su Mu. Su Mu noticed that its eyes were different from before... the pupils were no longer that chaotic, cloudy brown, but had become clearer and more spirited, as if something had been awakened within it.

The tuft of golden hair on its head, which was originally just a small tuft, now extends from its forehead all the way to its ears. The golden hair shines dazzlingly in the sunlight, just like the fur of that giant bear.

Su Mu's pupils contracted slightly. The effect of the egg liquid was much stronger than he had expected.

The brown bear put down the egg it was holding.

It didn't run away or protect its eggs; instead, it turned around and faced the Sumu.

Its broken leg cannot bear full weight, but its three-legged stance is as stable as a mountain.

Its golden eyes were fixed on Su Mu, egg yolk still clinging to the corner of its mouth, but its expression was no longer the sly, mischievous look it had before. It was a purer, more primal rage, like the fury of someone whose territory had been invaded.

Su Mu did not hesitate. He summoned his spear from the void, and his body was propelled forward by the spear, the tip of which aimed straight for the brown bear's head.

The brown bear was much faster than before.

Its body tilted slightly to one side, and Su Mu's spear tip grazed the fur near its ear, knocking off a few golden hairs.

Its front paws sweep upwards from below, not very fast, but with ridiculously great force.
