Summer Green Apples
Chapter 20 Girlfriend
Chi paused, then looked up at her.
The little girl picked up the pen, looking somewhat hesitant, but her shoulders were very straight. She had her hair in a bun, and her bangs were pinned up with two colorful hair clips, just like yesterday.
The little deer's watery eyes were now tinged with unease.
Chi Sui's thoughts stalled for a moment, wondering why she would suddenly ask that question.
He seemed to understand something when he caught a glimpse of the pen on the table.
This younger sister of mine has a pretty good eye for people.
He paused for a moment, then picked up his pen again. "If I minded, I wouldn't have agreed to it yesterday."
Ji Xiwen thought it made sense, so she lowered her head and continued writing her test paper.
The rain outside was getting heavier and heavier.
Chi looked at the exam paper, but couldn't concentrate for a long time.
Ji Xi heard that the noise was actually very small, even her breathing was faint and silent, and for a moment the only sound could be the rustling sound of her writing on the material.
She was wearing the same cream-colored pajamas she had unexpectedly worn in the kitchen the previous night.
The sleeves of her short-sleeved shirt were very short, and a black hair tie adorned her slender wrist. She was very focused when she was doing her homework.
Chi Sui absentmindedly ate a bite of fruit.
He only realized it was an unpleasant apple the moment he took a bite.
Normally, he would have just vomited into the trash can.
Sitting opposite him was Ji Xiwen, the young master with an image of being a perfect gentleman, his face green with embarrassment, who forced himself to eat the small piece of apple.
The apple was so sour that he felt like cursing.
How can the seller have the nerve to sell such sour apples?
Chi took a deep breath and glanced at the fruit plate, which turned out to be green apples.
There was still water on the light green skin.
No wonder it's so sour.
……
Ji Xiwen spent the entire Saturday doing practice tests and finished her weekend homework ahead of schedule.
The rain finally stopped the next day.
The sky cleared, and the blazing sun pierced through the thin clouds, making the whole small town feel like a steamer.
Ji Xiwen walked from the bus stop to the mall for five minutes, and was covered in sweat, as if she had just taken a shower.
Luo Wenjing, wearing overalls and with her long hair down, stood at the mall entrance. When she caught sight of Ji Xiwen, she excitedly waved, "Wenwen, over here!"
"Here I am, here I am."
Ji Xiwen jogged over, and Luo Wenjing, holding a small fan that her boyfriend had given her, fanned her face. "Why aren't you using an umbrella?"
"My umbrella is broken; I'll buy a new one later." Ji Xiwen looked around. "Where's Zhang Qingyan?"
"She went inside to buy milk tea," Luo Wenjing said. "That milk tea shop usually has a long queue, and we were worried you wouldn't be able to find it, so I'm waiting for you here."
"It's so kind of you."
Ji Xiwen followed Luo Wenjing to that milk tea shop.
It's really popular. It's a large store with more than ten tables, and it's already full of people, mostly young students.
Zhang Qingyan wore a super short T-shirt that revealed her belly button and made her waistline extremely obvious. Her long hair was tied into a ponytail, making her particularly eye-catching.
There were two empty chairs next to her.
The air conditioning in the milk tea shop was very cold, and every pore on Ji Xiwen's body was screaming with comfort.
There was a menu on the table. Zhang Qingyan pointed to the top sign and said, "I didn't know what you two liked to drink, so I ordered this one, the normal iced half-sweet."
"I love drinking this." Luo Wenjing said with a look of surprise.
Ji Xiwen was stunned for a moment, opened her mouth, and was about to say something when Zhang Qingyan seemed to have the ability to read minds. She looked up at her and said, "Don't be polite with me. If it really doesn't work out, you can invite me back next time."
"Okay." Ji Xiwen nodded and swallowed the rest of her words.
She glanced down at the menu; the price was listed next to it: 17 yuan.
So expensive?
Ji Xiwen was silently surprised, as the milk tea shops in her hometown generally charged less than seven yuan.
Luckily, she had a secret stash of money.
Ji Xiwen used to help others with their homework at No. 2 Middle School, and occasionally she would sell her study notes on trading platforms. She was also quite frugal with her money, so she had quite a bit of savings.
The milk tea shop was pulled open, and six or seven people, both men and women, squeezed in. They were all quite good-looking and basically dressed head-to-toe in designer brands.
It attracted the attention of most people in the store.
Ji Xiwen was looking at the names of the milk teas on the menu with a bored expression when she heard the noise and looked up.
Then he froze.
This group of people looks so familiar.
There was Xu Jiyang, a dark-skinned PE student I saw outside the classroom last time, and Chi Sui.
He had his hands in his pockets, looking somewhat displeased. His long legs, encased in light-colored jeans, were straight and slender. Xu Jiyang, seemingly boneless, supported himself with his arm around Xu Jiyang's shoulder, whispering something to him.
Chi Sui remained silent, listened for half a minute, and then pushed him away.
Just then, a group of people got up to get their milk tea and left, and the rest of the group sat down in a large group.
"Don't be angry, we didn't know she would come," Xu Jiyang said softly.
The "she" in this context refers to Meng Leran.
They had arranged to play billiards, but when Chi Sui arrived, he discovered that Meng Leran was also there.
Meng Leran was the first to sit down, pulling out the chair next to her. She looked at Chi Sui with a smile and said in a sweet voice, "Chi Sui, sit here."
Her voice clearly reached Ji Xiwen's ears across the aisle.
sounds so good.
Ji Xiwen rested her cheek on her hand and thought.
Chi Sui has good taste; he found such a beautiful and sweet girlfriend.
Then Chi Sui stood there without moving, only giving Xu Jiyang a cold and indifferent glance.
Xu Jiyang gritted his teeth, put on a shameless smile, and sat down.
Meng Leran's smile vanished.
She glared at Xu Jiyang, annoyed. "What are you doing sitting here?"
Xu Jiyang cursed Chi Sui a thousand times in his heart, then smiled awkwardly, "School beauty, you smell nice, I like it."
These words appeased Meng Leran again.
She curled the corners of her lips, clearly pleased with Xu Jiyang's compliment.
"Smooth talker," she muttered under her breath.
Xu Jiyang rubbed his face, pulled out the chair next to him, and said to Chi Sui, "Young Master, please sit down."
Chi Sui stood still because he saw a familiar face at the next table.
Ji Xiwen was also staring at him blankly.
The two looked at each other for a few moments, then looked away as if they didn't know each other.
He Ran, sitting opposite, couldn't bear to look. He put his arm around the girl next to him and said, "Chi Sui, are you obsessed with being an emperor?"
Chi then slowly sat down, saying, "That's enough."
He Ran: "...Will someone like you be able to find a girlfriend in the future?"
When this topic came up, Meng Leran tossed her hair and looked at Chi Sui with a hopeful expression.
"Thank you for your concern." Chi Sui leaned back in his chair as if he had no bones, his long legs crossed, his T-shirt neckline low, revealing his deep collarbones. "I'm currently in a passionate relationship."
"What…" Xu Jiyang turned his head in shock, exchanged a glance with Chi Sui, and then quickly realized, "That's right, this guy cherishes his little girlfriend very much."
Meng Leran's expression froze instantly, her lips twitching slightly. "What?"
