Chapter 258 The Uncle Who Scammed His Nephew

Upon seeing the message, Rosen couldn't help but mutter to himself, "Old people really don't need much sleep. They're so old, yet their personalities are so rigid and meticulous."

My daily routine is usually so incredibly regular, yet I'm still awake past 2 AM! Would teaching myself to fly a plane during the day count as fatigued driving?

Suddenly, his phone vibrated violently, the ringtone sounding particularly abrupt in the quiet bedroom.

Giselle was fast asleep on the bed. When she sensed the movement, she only subconsciously turned over, her back to Rosen, her hair scattered on the pillow. She was peaceful and sweet, showing no signs of being woken up.

Rosen got out of bed, picked up his underwear from the floor and quickly put it on. He tiptoed out of the bedroom and onto the open-air balcony. The evening breeze was cool and rustled the balcony railing.

The call was from Qian Bida. Has this guy forgotten about the time difference?

However, someone who runs a business shouldn't overlook such a thing; it's most likely that something urgent has come up.

"Hey, Uncle, what's wrong in the middle of the night?"

Qian Bida's voice on the other end of the phone was visibly tired and anxious. "Xiao Senzi... something terrible has happened to your Uncle Ming. Could you please lend him a hand?"

Upon hearing this familiar opening line, Rosen was momentarily speechless. He knew without a doubt that it was no good. "Alright, I got it. Just tell me, who am I being sent to rescue this time?"

Qian Bida was visibly taken aback upon hearing this, his tone tinged with surprise: "You...you knew all along?"

"How would I know? It's just a guess." Rosen leaned against the railing, his tone tinged with a hint of sarcasm. "The last time you talked to me like that, it was to get me to go and rescue your old flame."

Qian Bida on the other end of the phone had no time for banter and immediately said seriously, "This is no joke! Lao Guan's daughter has been kidnapped by drug lords from the Sonora Cartel in Mexico. He's going to cross the border alone tomorrow to rescue her; the situation is extremely urgent."

It's just that Rosen didn't see it, otherwise Qian Bida's embarrassed expression would have been clearly visible.

Qian Bida paused, his tone growing increasingly helpless: "He only managed to hire one top-notch fighter temporarily. Two people storming the drug lord's headquarters is simply a drop in the ocean; they can't accomplish anything. After much thought, I had no choice but to swallow my pride and ask you..."

After hearing this, Rosen couldn't help but facepalm and complain, "No way, my dear uncle, wake up! What difference will one more person make? Do you think three people can turn the world upside down in a drug lord's territory? Isn't this just like the Calabash Brothers saving their grandfather?"

"I had no choice!" Qian Bida's voice was tinged with sorrow. "Old Guan was the one who brought me into this industry, my savior, practically my mentor. We're truly bound by life-or-death bonds. I can't just stand by and do nothing when he's in trouble. Help me think of a solution; anything that can be resolved with money is fine!"

After hearing this, Rosen was completely speechless, feeling utterly dumbfounded. His uncle truly was a good man; whenever something happened, he was always the first to be pushed forward to take the fall.

Sending him to confront a veteran Mexican drug lord is truly a privilege reserved for a close nephew.

Rosen is considering whether to sever ties with this uncle who's been ripping off his nephew.

Otherwise, it would be ridiculous to let him cause trouble for the US military next time.

In fact, Rosen also had his own plans. He had long intended to find an opportunity to go to Mexico and bring back the savings he had deposited with the drug lords, but he had not found a suitable time or made full preparations.

With this thought in mind, Rosen subconsciously recalled his capsule space, which was filled with all kinds of top-of-the-line weapons, modified vehicles, and emergency supplies, instantly boosting his confidence.

He sighed softly and said, "Alright, alright, I give up. I'll see if I can gather a few more people to form a team to go and help."

Upon hearing his agreement, Qian Bida breathed a huge sigh of relief and quickly promised, "No problem! I'll reimburse all expenses for this operation. In addition, everyone involved will receive a $500,000 appearance fee! If we can rescue them safely, Lao Guan will add a generous bonus!"

Five hundred thousand US dollars—an astronomical sum to buy one's life—demonstrates the extreme danger of this mission, no wonder Qian Bida is in such a hurry. With this reward as a guarantee, finding top experts to assist him is not a problem.

The problem is that time is too tight, and even if you have money, it's not easy to spend it.

Rosen listened with little interest. "If I just send a plane over and drop two rounds of bombs on the drug lord's headquarters, wiping them out in one fell swoop, will you reimburse the expenses?"

These words completely stunned Qian Bida. He stood there for several seconds before hurriedly trying to dissuade him: "You absolutely mustn't do anything reckless! Be careful! There are regular air forces stationed in Mexico. If things get out of hand, there won't be any way to handle it!"

Rosen almost burst out laughing after hearing this, his heart filled with disdain.

He has amassed a whole bunch of anti-aircraft weapons he smuggled from the navy; any one of them could be a deadly weapon.

With Mexico's limited air force resources, all of them are old, outdated fighter jets from the 1960s. Their airframes are worn out and their performance is outdated, so whether they can take off smoothly is an unknown.

As for their few armed helicopters? Rosen's lips curled into a playful smile.

The dozen or so boxes of HYG-6 anti-aircraft missiles he had stockpiled in his capsule space were already itching for a fight, and he was ready to welcome them to their doom at any time.

After hanging up the phone, Rosen leaned against the railing of his apartment balcony, scrolling through his phone screen with his fingertips.

There is a serious shortage of manpower right now, and there are not many reliable people. After thinking it over, the first person he decided to contact was Lone Wolf.

This old guy must be pretty strong. As Barney's friend, someone who's too weak wouldn't have lived to this age.

Rosen dialed the number, and the phone was answered after only one ring.

The phone suddenly crackled with the sound of wind, and you could vaguely hear the roar of an engine. What was that old guy doing out there instead of sleeping?

Before Rosen could speak, Lone Wolf's slightly hoarse voice came through, "Feed? I have something to do tomorrow, classes are suspended, didn't you see the message?"

Rosen didn't beat around the bush and went straight to the point: "I'm not here to teach you. I want to hire you for a mission to help rescue someone."

The other end of the phone suddenly fell silent for a full two seconds.

Lone Wolf's voice rang out again, "Is it about Jackie?"

Rosen slapped his forehead instantly, inwardly cursing himself for being incredibly stupid.

How could he make such a stupid mistake! Lone Wolf was personally introduced by Guan Yuming, and the two had a close relationship. With such a big thing happening in Guan Yuming's family, how could he not have heard a thing? He was so stupid to think of notifying them separately, which was completely unnecessary.

Rosen smiled helplessly and admitted frankly, "That's it. I was originally planning to find a few more people to lend a hand."
