Chapter 257 Dangerous Online Meeting

The person she was chatting with was a guy named Peter whom she had just met online a couple of days ago.

The other person's persona was practically perfect: blond hair, fair skin, a sunny appearance, and a genuine Harvard graduate. At a young age, he had secured a position at a top local laboratory in Texas based on his own abilities—a true elite and high-quality man.

The two chatted online for the past two days and got along exceptionally well. They shared similar values, had endless topics to discuss, and the atmosphere was both ambiguous and sweet. Guan Xiaofan, who had never met this kind of high-quality guy before, unknowingly let down all her guard.

Messages kept popping up. Peter said he had just gotten off work and was free, so he wanted to ask her out to meet in person and chat.

Guan Xiaofan stared at the screen, his mind racing with conflicting thoughts for a few seconds.

My father's repeated admonitions flashed through my mind: in a foreign land, where you are unfamiliar with the place, never go out alone at night, and never meet strangers.

But then she remembered Peter's sunny and handsome photos on his WeChat Moments, his gentle and clean demeanor, and his impressive resume, which instantly made her forget her father's admonitions.

She comforted herself, thinking that it wasn't like she was alone with someone; it was just meeting a friend in person, so it didn't count as going out alone and there was no danger.

A girl's heart, in the end, cannot resist the temptation of novelty and curiosity.

She immediately got up, dressed up, changed into a nice outfit, did some simple makeup, slung a small handbag over her shoulder, and happily walked out of the apartment. She hailed a taxi and headed straight for the trendy bar on the west side of the city.

The car came to a steady stop in front of the bar. The bar was excessively lively at night, with neon lights flashing wildly and ear-piercing music that could be heard from afar. People of all kinds were coming and going at the entrance, creating a chaotic and noisy scene.

Looking at the chaotic scene before him, Guan Xiaofan, who was all alone, felt a sudden wave of fear and even thought about turning back home.

Just as she was hesitating, her phone screen suddenly lit up. It was a message from Peter, asking her exactly where she was.

Suppressing his unease, Guan Xiaofan honestly replied that he had arrived at the bar entrance.

In less than half a minute, a thin, gloomy young man emerged from the shadows.

His eyes were dark and his expression was cold, a stark contrast to the sunny, handsome, and gentle-looking Peter in the photos.

The man walked up to her, staring directly at her, and said in a flat tone, "You're Jessy?"

Guan Xiaofan froze on the spot, his face full of confusion and astonishment. He couldn't help but ask softly, "You...you're Peter?"

Before she could even realize something was wrong, a strange smile suddenly appeared on the man's lips.

The next second, a dark figure suddenly darted out from behind her, and a rough, powerful hand tightly covered her mouth and nose.

A pungent, spicy smell of anesthetic instantly filled her nasal cavity and mouth, rushing straight to her brain.

Guan Xiaofan's mind went blank for a moment, his limbs went weak, and he didn't even have the strength to struggle. The neon lights in front of him gradually blurred and turned black.

In just a few seconds, she completely lost consciousness, slumped down, and was roughly dragged into a black sedan parked by the roadside by several burly men who rushed out from the shadows. The car then silently disappeared into the night.

On the other side, at the border freight handover point.

Guan Yuming oversaw the entire process, handling all the final tasks methodically. Only after confirming that the goods were correct and the channels were safe did his tense nerves relax slightly.

Just as he was about to set off on his return journey, his cell phone suddenly vibrated rapidly in his pocket, displaying the words "Xiao Fan" on the screen.

Upon seeing his daughter's call, Guan Yuming instantly shed all his fatigue. With gentle touch, he quickly answered the phone and said softly, "Xiaofan, why aren't you asleep yet? Can't you sleep? Dad will finish up here soon and come back to be with you."

Instead of her daughter's soft, familiar voice, a cold, hoarse, and mocking unfamiliar male voice came from the other end of the phone, chilling her to the bone: "Jackie, don't wait any longer. Your daughter is in our hands now."

"Come to Nogalis tomorrow; our boss wants to see you in person."

These two short sentences were like a thunderclap in his ears, instantly chilling Guan Yuming to the bone and making his blood almost freeze.

His pupils contracted sharply, his breathing quickened, and he suppressed his inner turmoil, asking in a low voice, "Nogalis? Fausto Alarcon's Sonora Group?"

His mind raced, repeatedly reviewing all his recent actions, but he couldn't figure out what was wrong. His tone was filled with extreme anger and confusion: "I've never interfered with the Sonora Group, we have no grudges against each other! Why did you kidnap my daughter?!"

At this moment, Guan Yuming, who was usually calm and composed, completely broke down. His voice trembled noticeably, and he spoke through gritted teeth, "I warn you, you are not allowed to touch a single hair on her head! If she suffers even the slightest harm, I will give everything I have to make your entire Sonora Group pay a bloody price!"

A contemptuous and arrogant laugh came from the other end of the phone, full of disdain and mockery: "Heh, Jackie, you? You think you're worthy of making the Sonora Corporation pay the price?"

"If our boss hadn't specifically ordered that this young girl's life be spared for you to exchange, tonight she would have been serving my dozens of brothers properly."

"Come early tomorrow. Remember, our boss never waits for people."

The call was abruptly ended as soon as he finished speaking.

The phone screen suddenly went dark, leaving only a cold black screen.

Guan Yuming stood frozen in place, the evening wind chilling him to the bone.

Overwhelming panic, anger, and regret surged through him in an instant, but he clenched his fists tightly, forcing himself to steady his trembling body and suppressing his emotions that were on the verge of collapse.

Meanwhile, inside the luxurious Macallan apartments shrouded in night, a different, warm and intimate scene unfolded.

The warm lights in the room were dimmed and softened, and after several intense and fiery moments, the restless atmosphere gradually calmed down.

Giselle was completely limp and collapsed onto the soft bed. Her long eyelashes drooped gently, and her breathing was even and deep. She had long since exhausted all her strength and was drifting into a deep sleep, with a hint of languid charm still lingering in her eyes.

Rosen leaned against the headboard, covered only by a thin blanket, his posture relaxed and languid, his fingertips casually swiping through his phone screen, absentmindedly scrolling through various messages.

The room was quiet, with only the two of them breathing steadily and the faint sound of their phones clicking.

It was well past 2 a.m., and the whole city was fast asleep, with most people having already turned off their lights and gone to sleep.

Just then, he suddenly received a text message from Lone Wolf: "All classes are suspended tomorrow. Please wait for further notice regarding the specific start time."
