"George, listen to me. The tide is in your hands now. You are the first heir of the Sanchez family. Your opponent is not Olson, nor Mr. Harvey. Your opponent is time! As long as you play it safe and don't make any mistakes, Olson has no chance. Once you become the head of the Sanchez family, Olson can do whatever he wants. Why rush things and risk angering Mr. Harvey now?" Grabbing George's shoulder, Connor earnestly advised him.
George lowered his head and fell silent again. After a long while, he muttered, "FUCK!" But as he cursed, his clenched fists slowly loosened.
Seeing that George had regained his senses, Connor smiled, released his grip on George's shoulder, and asked with a quick thought, "George, do you know what's going on? Why are there military police checking everywhere on the streets?"
As soon as Connor finished speaking, George's expression changed drastically. He looked around to make sure it was just the two of them before hesitantly saying, "Something terrible has happened! I overheard my father talking to someone yesterday. Apparently, a secret warehouse of the Church of Storms was robbed, and a lot of supplies, including a magical item, were taken. And Constantine was reportedly killed by the robbers!"
"Constantine is dead?" Upon hearing what George said, even Connor, with his composure, couldn't help but show a look of astonishment on his face.
George nodded firmly and continued in a low voice, "Dead beyond dead. The police found a head at the dock that belonged to Constantine, but they couldn't find the rest of the body!"
Sighing, Connor muttered to himself, "So that's why there's such a big commotion. It turns out that old man Constantine was murdered!"
"That's all, Connor. Remember, don't tell anyone what I've told you!" George solemnly instructed.
"Don't worry, George! You know I'm not a blabbermouth!" Connor nodded and smiled.
"Let's go back, class is about to start!" Connor said with a smile, glancing at his watch. In five minutes, he and George would be attending Professor Quagliarella's class on the economic reforms of the Florentino Pérez dynasty.
"Damn, class is starting again!" George muttered under his breath.
Although Connor and George had rushed back as far as they could, they had strayed quite a distance from the classroom to maintain the privacy of their conversation. By the time they arrived, Lecturer Quagliarella had already begun his lecture.
"I'm so sorry, Lecturer Quagliarella, I'm late!" Connor, standing at the door, bowed slightly to the middle-aged man on the podium, a hint of apology on his face. George, realizing he was late, decided not to come at all; dealing with the lost goods was more important to him right now.
Seeing Connor appear at the classroom door with an apologetic look on his face, the middle-aged lecturer Quagliarella on the podium smiled gently. "Connor, it's alright. I was just looking for you. Your advisor, Professor Reyes, wants you to come to his office. As for the knowledge from this lesson, if you still don't understand something afterward, you can ask me privately!"
Upon hearing Reyes call for him, Connor's eyes narrowed instinctively, but he still smiled and said, "Thank you, Instructor Quagliarella!"
Smiling as he bid farewell to Lecturer Quagliarella, Connor walked down the time-worn corridors of Green University. His expression slowly turned cold. He clearly remembered that in his apartment, Reyes's butler, Victor, had told him that the professor had some things to take care of these days and that he shouldn't disturb him.
Now that the storm has passed, his beloved mentor, Professor Reyes, has asked him to come see him. Does this mean that the professor has finished dealing with his work?
So what did the professor finish dealing with? Could it be the same thing George just mentioned?
With these questions in mind, Connor went to his mentor's office and gently knocked on the door.
"Come in!" Reyes' deep voice came from inside the office.
Pushing open the office door, Connor respectfully bowed to Reyes, who was sitting and processing documents, and tentatively asked, "Professor, you wanted to see me?"
Reyes looked up from the piles of documents in front of him, glanced at Connor, then pointed to the sofa on the side of the office, gesturing for Connor to sit down. He then lowered his head and continued working on the documents in front of him.
After Connor sat down, Reyes, while processing official documents, asked, "Have you encountered any difficulties in your cultivation lately?"
A hint of doubt flashed through his mind, and Connor said with some distress, "There are no major problems with meditation for now, but when I cast the spell 'Mental Impact,' I find that my Mental Impact cannot fully unleash my mental power; at most, it can only exert fifty percent of its effect..."
"Mental Shock, do you remember when you cast it, you first meditated on the runes..." Reyes didn't look up, still processing official documents while helping Connor resolve the difficulties with his Mental Shock spell.
Listening attentively to Reyes' explanation, Connor felt as if he had been enlightened. Some difficult points that he didn't understand before were suddenly clear. Many of his cultivation problems were solved by the chip combined with his current knowledge. However, there were a few difficult points that the chip couldn't solve for Connor due to the limitations of its knowledge.
Reyes spent about half an hour explaining the difficulties of cultivation to Connor while processing official documents. Once Connor had no more questions, Reyes waved his hand, and a box about the size of a ring box, engraved with mysterious patterns, floated in front of Connor.
"Do me a favor. Take this to Warehouse Number Seven at Sassuolo Docks and give it to a guy named Bispin!" Reyes looked up, met Connor's gaze, and said calmly.
After glancing at the small box floating in front of him, Connor picked it up without hesitation.
Seeing that Connor acted without hesitation, Reyes nodded and continued, "Deliver the item as quickly as possible, and then bring back what Bispin gave me from him. If Bispin asks you anything, you don't need to answer. Just be careful and don't let the Church of Storms find out; those bastards are going berserk right now!"
"I understand, I'll deliver it right now!" Connor said in a deep voice.
