Chapter 481 A Villa Made of Alchemy Bombs

Chapter 481 The Villa Made of Alchemy Bombs (1)

After a half-hour carriage ride, Connor and Martina arrived at a two-story villa on the outskirts of Rune City. The villa was surrounded by beautiful scenery, nestled by water and lush with greenery. However, what was somewhat surprising was that in such a prime location, within a five-kilometer radius, this was the only villa in existence; there were no other buildings besides it.

The villa's exterior design is typical of the Kaman style, with a gorgeous yet rustic and solemn feel. However, once inside, you'll find that it's a bare shell with no interior decoration, just a layer of cement on the floor. The contrast between the luxurious exterior and the rough interior creates a strong visual impact.

"This villa has seven rooms in total. Connor, you can just pick any room. We'll be staying here until the operation begins." After giving Connor a few casual words, Martina turned and walked towards the rightmost room on the first floor, seemingly having already chosen her room.

Upon hearing Martina's introduction, Connor's heart stirred. He released his mental energy, and instantly the situation of the remaining six rooms in the villa appeared in his mind. After thinking for a moment, Connor withdrew his mental energy, stepped onto the second floor of the villa, and chose the first room on the second floor.

Sitting cross-legged on the concrete floor of the room, Connor glanced helplessly at the uneven walls that revealed the red bricks. In truth, there wasn't much to choose from among the seven rooms in this villa; aside from some minor differences in layout, they were essentially the same – all ugly, unfinished rooms. Connor's reason for choosing this room was simply that he wanted to maintain as much distance as possible from Martina.

Ever since their last meeting at the café on Rand Street, Connor had always sensed a dangerous aura emanating from Martina. Today, however, the danger he felt from Martina had intensified, which caught Connor's attention. After all, as a psychic wizard, Connor's intuition was remarkably sharp, making his instincts very accurate and rarely wrong.

Although Connor's room looked no different from a normal unfinished house, he would be staying there for the next few days, so out of caution, Connor carefully inspected the room. This inspection revealed something unusual, and a question arose in his mind. Connor broke off a small piece from the exposed red brick on the wall.

Looking at the small red brick in his hand, Connor's suspicion deepened. On the surface, this red brick looked no different from the red bricks used to build houses. Even using mental power to examine it would not reveal any abnormalities. However, if you actually held it in your hand, you would clearly feel the difference. First of all, this red brick was at least five times heavier than an ordinary red brick of the same volume. Secondly, in terms of hardness, this red brick could actually reach the hardness of a steel plate.

Intuition and Connor's alchemical knowledge told him that this red brick was not simple. This was most likely because some alchemical materials were added during its production, or a special refining method was used.

After a moment's thought, Connor took out a silver beaker from his spatial ring. With a flick of his finger, he crushed a small piece of red brick he had broken off from the wall into fine powder and poured it into the silver beaker. Just as Connor was about to continue, he heard Martina's footsteps approaching from the stairs. Connor frowned slightly and quickly put the beaker back into his spatial ring. He was the only one on the second floor of the villa, so Martina must be upstairs to see him.

Connor's guess was absolutely right. Sure enough, a few seconds later, Margaret gently knocked on Connor's door.

"What is it?" Connor, who was sitting cross-legged on the floor, said calmly, showing no intention of getting up to open the door for Martina.

However, to Connor's surprise, instead of opening the door for Martina, Martina seemed to have no need for him to open it. She simply flicked her finger in the hallway and forced the wooden door of the room open, revealing her cold and aloof face to Connor.

Seeing that Martina dared to ignore him, Connor's face darkened. Without the slightest hesitation, he launched a mental attack. Martina, who had fought Connor many times before, was not flustered at all. The light blue ring on her left little finger quickly produced a clear blue light shield, blocking Connor's mental attack for Martina.

"I'm starting to regret bringing you here, Connor..." With a flick of her finger, Martina withdrew the blue light barrier that had appeared in front of her, and looked at Connor with a complex expression, saying softly:

A slight smile played on Connor's lips. He knew that although Martina's gaze was on him, she wasn't just looking at him; she was also looking at the wall behind him! The small piece of red brick he had just broken off had been from the wall behind him.

"Since that's the case, Martina, I might as well give you a suggestion. Rather than letting me find out myself, why don't you tell me yourself? As long as it makes you seem more magnanimous, what do you think?" Connor looked at Martina with a half-smile and tricked her:

"As long as your alchemy can do it, Connor, then do as you please!" Martina gave Connor a deep look, but she didn't fall for his trick. Instead, she turned around and walked down the stairs back to her room as if nothing had happened.

Martina's reaction surprised Connor a little, but it also made him very interested in what the red bricks were actually used for.

Connor took out three steel balls from his spatial ring and placed them in the corner of the room. Then, he silently cast a spell on the three steel balls. The next second, Connor felt that all the auras in the room had been blocked, and a faint smile of smugness appeared on his face.

Connor took out the silver beaker containing red brick powder from his spatial ring again. This time, with the three steel balls shielding the energy fluctuations, Connor had no worries. A black flame immediately appeared in his palm, scorching the silver beaker.

Under the scorching black flames, the red brick powder in the silver beaker did not change much at first, remaining as powder. However, after thirty seconds, the red brick powder gradually began to vaporize, and a faint, pungent odor wafted into Connor's nose.
