Chapter 453 Showdown?

Chapter 453 Showdown?

"This is private property. Do not trespass!" Among the security guards surrounding Connor, a chubby white man, who appeared to be the leader, scrutinized Connor for a moment before speaking.

Connor nodded slightly, a faint smile appearing on his lips, showing no intention of saying anything.

Looking at the arrogant young man surrounded by himself and his men, who smiled without saying a word, the chubby security chief's face clearly showed impatience. For some reason, he felt that the young man's smile carried a naked contempt, which made him feel very uncomfortable!

"If you don't leave in five seconds, don't blame us for being impolite!" The fat security chief's eyes, almost invisible due to his fat, flashed with a cold light, but he still managed to issue a final warning with some restraint. In his eyes, although Connor seemed to have some background, the big boss of the villa area where he worked could be said to have connections everywhere. As long as he followed the rules, he didn't need to be afraid of anything.

To the chubby security chief's disappointment, Connor remained unmoved by his final warning, still wearing a smile. Five seconds later, the security chief finally lost his patience. However, just as he was about to order his men to seize Connor, a woman's clear, cold voice came from behind him: "Let him in!"

Upon hearing the cold female voice, the chubby security chief was immediately stunned. Then, as if he knew who the voice belonged to, he shuddered in terror and quickly ordered his men to retreat, ignoring Connor completely.

"Come with me!" Martina glared at Connor and said to him. Without waiting to see if Connor had heard her, she turned and walked into the villa area.

With a slight shrug, Connor followed Martina into the Sensi Villa District. Just as the security guards surrounded him, Connor had already spotted Martina hiding behind the villas. So, Connor gave up on playing games with the guards and looked directly at Martina.

Following Martina, Connor, guided by her, navigated the winding streets of the villa district and finally arrived at the door of a villa with the address number seventeen.

Martina pushed open the villa door, turned around and glared fiercely at Connor, gesturing for Connor to go in first.

With a smile, Connor shook his head. He knew that the more Martina acted this way, the safer the meeting with old Victor would be. If old Victor really wanted to make a move, he would never let Connor sense anything unusual.

He tightened his clothes, glanced at both sides of Villa No. 17, and walked into the villa where old Victor had arranged to meet him, under Martina's watchful gaze.

As soon as Connor entered the villa, he saw old Victor leaning against the sofa in the living room, holding a cane and squinting as he carefully examined him. Martina, who followed Connor into the room, closed the door and stood directly behind old Victor.

Without any intention of being polite to old Victor, Connor sat down on the sofa opposite him with a smile, facing him directly.

"Good! Very good! Young Master Connor's confidence has certainly increased quite a bit since becoming a senior wizard apprentice..." After Connor and old Victor stared at each other for a full five minutes, old Victor, holding his cane, slowly and deliberately said:

"Of course! If I didn't have confidence, would I have appeared in front of you like this? I've heard quite a bit about how Butler Victor is going to make a move against me!" Connor's face showed a playful expression as he looked at old Victor with a half-smile.

As soon as Connor finished speaking, old Victor's expression changed slightly, but Martina, standing behind him, paled abruptly. Clearly, neither old Victor nor Martina had expected Connor to say such a thing; his words had caught them completely off guard. After giving Connor a deep look, old Victor said in a low voice, "Young Master Connor, do you believe this news?"

"You're skeptical, but I only know one thing: as long as my mentor is still here, I'm safe. Butler Victor, don't you think?" Connor's face showed a smug look, and he looked at old Victor with a hint of mockery, as if he were a fox borrowing the tiger's power.

After Connor finished speaking, old Victor's cloudy eyes only changed slightly, but Connor caught a fleeting glimpse of pity in Martina's eyes, who was standing behind him.

"Of course! As long as Professor is still here, we are all safe!" Old Victor said with absolute certainty, glancing at Connor once more.

Upon hearing old Victor's reply, Connor's smile broadened considerably, appearing extremely smug. However, inwardly, Connor was sneering. How could he not know that the one truly targeting him was his mentor, Professor Reyes of the Secret Society? Old Victor was merely carrying out Reyes's will. Connor's purpose in saying this was to lull him into a false sense of security. After experiencing so much, it would seem too unbelievable for Connor to claim he hadn't noticed anything!

Connor had carefully considered these words before coming. His aim was to make old Victor believe that he was the mastermind behind everything, and that his dear mentor Reyes was his greatest support and backer. This way, he might be able to delay old Victor from taking action against him and buy himself some time to prepare for his own preemptive strike.

"Tap!" Old Victor's cane tapped lightly on the villa's floor, and then Connor sensed a wizard exuding a familiar aura enter the villa's hall.

"Tsk tsk tsk, old Victor, you said my confidence has improved a lot, but I think your assistant is the one with overflowing confidence, daring to appear in front of me?" Sensing the appearance of this aura, Connor, who was leaning on the sofa, looked at the old Victor in front of him, making no attempt to hide the killing intent in his eyes.

Hearing Connor's words, a smile appeared on old Victor's aged face. He said slowly, "Young Master Connor, you studied history at Green University. If I remember correctly, you studied the period of Emperor Raul the Great most diligently. I wonder if you still remember Emperor Raul the Great's famous saying, 'It is better to resolve enmity than to create it'?"
