Chapter 454 A Naked Threat!

Chapter 454 A Naked Threat!

"Connor, what happened between you and Paredes was just a misunderstanding. Why doesn't Paredes apologize to young master Connor?" Old Victor pointed his cane at Connor and said to Paredes, who had appeared in the villa:

As old Victor pointed his cane at him, Connor suddenly felt himself locked in by an extremely powerful, even terrifying, magical force. He was pinned to the sofa, unable to move. Connor's face instantly darkened, and he immediately tried to break free of this state, but to no avail.

"Young Master Connor, this was my mistake, please forgive me!" Paleddes, his face pale and bloodless, and his breath extremely weak, walked up to Connor. He bowed deeply to Connor and said this. Although he was bowing, Connor could clearly see a hint of resentment and hatred that he was trying hard to hide in his eyes.

Connor offered no response to Paredes's bow and apology, his gaze fixed intently on Paredes. Paredes's appearance had greatly surprised Connor. His mental shock, amplified by the silver pendant, would have taken at least a month to heal even a high-level wizard apprentice. Connor had anticipated that if a high-level wizard apprentice needed a month to recover, Paredes would require at least three months to barely recover, and at least a year to fully recover.

However, the facts before Connor told him that his prediction was completely wrong. The Paredes who appeared in front of him was still very weak, but it was clear that the mental damage caused to Paredes by his mental attack had been effectively controlled. Perhaps after a month or two of recuperation, Paredes would be able to fully recover.

Seeing that Connor remained silent, old Victor, who had been pointing his cane at Connor, coughed lightly. Paredes, having received the signal, immediately straightened up and stood respectfully behind old Victor.

"Since you're not speaking, Connor, I'll take that as your agreement. I don't want to see anything else happen that I don't want to see!" Old Victor put down his cane that was pointing at Connor and said calmly. His words were less of a question and more of a statement; he had made his decision for Connor.

As old Victor lowered his cane, Connor immediately felt the terrifying magic that had been locking onto him disappear, and he regained his freedom.

Connor glanced at the seemingly ordinary Byzantine-style cane in old Victor's hand, snorted, and stood up from the sofa to leave.

"Young Master Connor, I've summoned you here because the Secret Society has a mission to entrust to you!" Seeing Connor about to leave, old Victor said calmly.

"A mission? You still have the nerve to give me missions?" Hearing old Victor's words, Connorton laughed in anger, mocking him, "That piece of crap you gave me last time, if I hadn't run fast when things got bad, I might have been dead at Fatica Cathedral! And now you're giving me missions? Old Victor, you can tell all your missions to go to hell!"

After saying that, Connor turned and walked towards the villa gate without looking back. However, he had only taken two or three steps when he heard Old Victor's deep voice behind him: "You should know very well the consequences of refusing to accept the mission assigned by the Secret Society. Although you are the professor's student, the consequences are still beyond your ability to bear!"

"Tsk tsk tsk! Victor, you old codger, haven't you always been looking down on me and trying to make a move on me? Fine! I'm giving you that chance now. You have two choices: first, make your move now and leave me here. I know you have the ability! Second, let me go!" Hearing old Victor's blatant threat, Connor sneered, seemingly unconcerned about him. After speaking, Connor continued walking towards the villa door. A few steps later, Connor pushed open the door and walked out of the villa.

"Butler Victor, shall we make a move?" Martina, standing behind old Victor, asked him somewhat unwillingly as Connor walked out of the villa. As soon as Martina spoke, Paredes, who was standing with Martina behind old Victor, also looked at old Victor sitting on the sofa in front of them with hopeful eyes.

Old Victor was silent for a moment, then shook his head and said, "Connor is still valuable to the professor, so we can't make a move against him now!"

"Butler Victor, since we can't take action against that bastard Connor right now, please allow me to resume monitoring Connor. I promise he won't find out this time!" Paredes asked old Victor for instructions. When he mentioned Connor's name, the hatred and anger in Paredes' words were clearly palpable.

"Connor's meditation method is a high-level mental meditation method. His intuition is so sharp and his mental strength so powerful that even I might not be able to defeat him. Paredes, you've already been discovered by him once, so it's impossible for you to monitor him like before." Old Victor refused Paredes's request without the slightest hesitation. Then, after a moment of contemplation, he instructed Paredes, "Paredes, continue to use the Soul Gathering Array to recover your mental injuries. Try to heal your injuries within a month. After a month, you will be responsible for monitoring Margaret."

"Thank you, Butler Victor!" Upon hearing that he could continue using the Soul Gathering Array, Paredes' eyes clearly showed a hint of surprise, and he quickly thanked old Victor.

After instructing Paredes, old Victor thought for a moment and then said to Martina behind him, "Martina, you should thoroughly investigate Margaret's connections. When Elena left Rune, she must have given her quite a few things, which is a significant hidden danger. You must dig them all out!"

If Connor were still here, overhearing the conversation between old Victor, Paredes, and Martina in the villa, his expression would be incredibly interesting...

In a private room at the Sari Cafe in North Ruen, Connor tossed a small package to the round-faced, dark-haired woman sitting opposite him.

The dark-haired woman took the package Connor tossed to her, weighed it in her hand for a moment, and asked Connor, "Didn't you need it?"

Connor picked up his coffee, took a small sip, and said, "It seems I still have some value to them."

The dark-haired woman glanced at Connor, then rested her head on her hand and asked him with great curiosity, "I've always had a question I wanted to ask you..."
