Chapter 452 Contacting Margaret

Chapter 452 Contacting Margaret (2)

At nine o'clock on the morning of the 12th, a somewhat tired Connor walked out of his apartment at 16 Land Street in the East End. However, he did not go directly to his meeting with old Victor at the Sensi Villa. Instead, he casually hailed a carriage on the bustling Land Street and went to the very famous Camp Nou Opera House in Loen.

After buying a ticket to the opera house, Connor entered and took his seat. Connor seemed to be a little late, as all the seats in the opera house were already full. By the time Connor was seated, the opera had officially begun, and Madame de Firmich, the star of the Camp Nou opera house, had already started her performance.

Although he couldn't appreciate the charm of the opera, Connor had to admit that Madame Firmich, though over thirty, was still incredibly charming, like a ripe peach that made one want to take a bite. No wonder such gentlemen came to support her.

"Connor, go to hell!"

Just as Connor leaned back in his chair, applauding Mrs. Firmich's brilliant performance, he heard a familiar voice transmission in his ear.

Upon hearing Marguerite's resentful voice, Connor immediately showed surprise, but he quickly concealed it. He used his mental energy to pinpoint Marguerite's location within the opera house, and with a subtle movement of his lips, transmitted a message to the disguised Marguerite: "Thank goodness, Marguerite, you've finally arrived!"

"Heh, I see you, young master Connor, are quite confident. You're about to meet with your superiors, and you still have the mood to come here to watch this shameless slut's performance? What, do you still want to sleep with this slut? Let me tell you, that slut, Firmich, has slept with at least eighty or a hundred men in all of Loen!" Margaret seemed unable to forgive Connor's earlier display of appreciation for Mrs. Firmich's performance, and her voice transmission continued to be filled with resentment.

Connor was both amused and exasperated. He shrugged and replied telepathically, "If I remember correctly, it was Margaret who arranged for us to meet at the Camp Nou Opera House in an emergency!"

After speaking, Connor glanced at Mrs. Firmich, who was still performing on stage, with some surprise. Although he had thought that this "peach" might have a relationship with some people, he did not expect there to be so many people. Connor did not doubt Margaret's words. Margaret was in the Storm Church, so her information was naturally very accurate.

"See you next time at the Calderón Opera!" Margaret replied through gritted teeth upon hearing Connor's words.

After Margaret finished speaking, she and Connor fell silent in their telepathic communication. After a moment, Margaret broke the silence first, her voice returning to normal as she said to Connor, "Have you decided? Victor is also recorded in the church's archives. Among all the senior wizard apprentices in the entire Kaman Empire, there are few who are stronger than him..."

With a faint smile, Connor replied calmly, "I don't think he's very likely to attack me this time. He only asked you to come just in case. Don't worry, although I'm not as strong as old Victor now, he can't capture me alive."

"If I were worried you'd reveal my secret, I would have killed you long ago, you bastard!" Sensing Connor's emphasis on the word "capture alive," Margaret's telepathic message was once again tinged with anger.

Margaret's words completely baffled Connor. If she wasn't worried about him being captured by old Victor and having her secrets exposed, why would Margaret care whether he went to see Victor or not?

"Did you bring what I asked for?" Although he couldn't figure out what Margaret was thinking, Connor, while inwardly marveling at how unpredictable women's hearts were, asked Margaret the real question.

"I've put it in room 301 of the hotel across the street for you!" Margaret's voice still carried some emotion, but she gave Connor a very satisfactory answer.

A joyful smile appeared on his lips, and Connor replied sincerely via telepathy, "Thank you!"

Connor knew very well that getting what he needed in just two days would be an extremely difficult task, even for Margaret.

"I'll be waiting for you at the cabin!" Margaret said firmly in response to Connor's thanks.

"Whatever! But if I really fall apart and there's no hope for me, don't do anything pointless. Don't worry, even if things really come to that, I won't sell you!" After saying that, Connor straightened his trench coat and walked out of the opera house.

Watching the figure disappear into the opera house, a complex emotion flickered in Marguerite's beautiful eyes, hidden beneath her disguise.

"Sir, Senxi Villa is just ahead. That's a high-end villa area, and my carriage can't go in!" The young driver in the taxi pointed to the neat rows of villas ahead and said with a wry smile. His words were bitter, but his eyes were full of envy.

"Okay, I understand!" Connor, who had been resting with his eyes closed in the carriage, opened his eyes, casually tossed two shillings to the coachman, and then got off the carriage.

"Thank you, sir! This is my contact information. If you need anything in the future, you can find me at the address above!" Seeing Connor's generosity, the young coachman's eyes lit up immediately. After taking the banknotes, he quickly pulled out a card that looked like it contained a place name from his pocket and respectfully handed it to Connor with both hands.

Without even glancing at the coachman, Connor waved his hand and walked toward the Sensi villa area not far away, leaving the young coachman alone shivering in the cold wind.

Not far from the entrance of the Sensi Villa area, several people who looked like security guards stopped Connor and surrounded him.

After glancing at the security guards and confirming that they were just ordinary people, Connor didn't say anything more. He wasn't sure if this was some kind of trick Old Victor was playing on him.

As the saying goes, "Clothes make the man," and Connor has always paid attention to his image. All his clothes are custom-made by high-end tailors, so they look expensive. Although the security guards didn't know who Connor was, they could tell from his clothes that he wasn't poor, so they didn't say anything rude.
