Chapter 451 Contacting Margaret
Chapter 451 Contacting Margaret (1)
After checking the surrounding area with his mental energy for several minutes, Connor finally withdrew the released mental energy with a dark expression. Connor had to admit that Paredes had once again given him a "surprise." The fact that he could still escape despite being so injured was truly beyond Connor's expectations.
Connor's gaze shifted to the dull silver bowl lying on the ground. His eyes flickered, and he beckoned to the bowl. The strange silver bowl, which had just transformed into a barrier trapping Connor, fell into his hands without any resistance. After briefly examining the bowl and confirming that it no longer posed any threat to him, Connor stored it in his spatial ring and quickly left Harland Cemetery.
As Connor stepped out of the cemetery, he saw the old coachman who had brought him there, along with the mangled corpses of the packhorses that had pulled the carriage. The scene was extremely bloody. Not only that, Connor also sensed the presence of Paredes, who had fled, and a few drops of blood that carried his scent. It seemed that Paredes had vented his resentment at being injured by Connor on innocent passersby.
Just as Connor frowned slightly, preparing to clean up the scene, his mental energy suddenly sensed three knights dressed in Loen police uniforms riding horses at high speed towards him, about seven or eight hundred meters away from Harland Cemetery.
"SHIT!" The appearance of these three policemen made Connor's already depressed mood even worse, and he blurted out a curse. If nothing was wrong, these knights must have been attracted by the white smoke he had just released. Although these people were just ordinary knights, and it wouldn't have been difficult for Connor to kill them, Connor obviously couldn't do that. These three knights represented the Rune Police, and if he killed them, things would become very complicated!
Shaking his head, Connor decided to do nothing and quietly left into the surrounding bushes. He had just checked the area around Harland Cemetery; there was no one else there. There were no witnesses, and the bloody scene was caused by Paredes, having nothing to do with him, Connor. So even if the police found something in the gruesome scene, it wouldn't concern Connor Ferguson. He wanted to clean up the scene simply to avoid trouble; it was just a habit. Since the police had arrived, leaving the scene to them was no big deal for Connor.
Three minutes after Connor left, three police officers, armed with revolvers and wearing standard police trench coats, appeared very cautiously in front of Harland Cemetery.
Seeing the blood all over the ground, the faces of two of the three young policemen changed instantly. One of them seemed to have a weaker constitution and couldn't hold it in, turning his head and vomiting loudly.
"Boss! Judging from the scene, the perpetrators shouldn't have gone far. Should we start the search now?" The blond young man, who hadn't vomited yet, asked the older policeman after a moment's hesitation. Judging from his words, the older policeman was probably his superior.
After slowly surveying the horrific scene, the elderly policeman sighed, waved his hand, and said, "We're not going to do anything. Just wait here for ten minutes!"
"Wait ten minutes?" The young, blond policeman, seemingly puzzled as to why his superior was doing this, asked in return:
"If you don't want to die, stay here quietly for ten minutes. After ten minutes, come back to the police station with me and report what happened here. This is not something you or I can interfere with, understand?" The older policeman pointed his finger at the younger blond policeman and said very seriously.
After he finished speaking, the older policeman seemed to glance at the trees on both sides of the road out of the corner of his eye, as if his words were not just meant for the young blond policeman.

Although Connor didn't kill Paredes as he had planned, the bloodstains and scent left by Paredes indicated that he was seriously injured after being hit by Connor's two mental attacks. Given his injuries, Paredes was no longer able to track and spy on Connor as before. With this in mind, Connor had achieved his goal of shaking off Paredes's pursuit. Without Paredes, Connor could finally make arrangements for the Sensi Villa and Old Victor two days later, as he had intended. The first step in these arrangements was for Connor to visit Jennifer's lingerie boutique at the Imperial Department Store.
"Give this letter to Margaret; she knows what to do!" In the back of Jennifer's lingerie store, Connor, wearing a bowler hat pulled very low and a lifelike mask, solemnly instructed Leonie.
"What happened?" After taking the letter from Connor's hand and placing it in her spatial ring, Leonie glanced at Connor, frowned, and asked. She had never seen Connor so anxious in all the time she had known him. If Connor hadn't revealed his identity earlier, she would never have guessed that the person in front of her was the Earl's heir Connor Ferguson that she knew.
Seeing that Leonie had accepted his letter, Connor's anxiety eased slightly. When Leonie asked him a question, he shook his head without saying much. However, after a moment, he seemed to have thought of something and said to Leonie, "Tell Margaret that what happened at Harland Cemetery today is related to me. Have her keep an eye on things for me!"
Seeing that Connor was unwilling to tell her what had happened, Leonie was curious but did not press him. She nodded to Connor, indicating that she would pass on Connor's words to Margaret.
Seeing Leonie nod, a smile finally appeared on Connor's face. He then nodded slightly to Leonie as a greeting, walked out of the inner hall, and left the Imperial Department Store.
Back in his apartment, Connor didn't rest. Although he thought it unlikely that old Victor would directly attack him during this trip to the Sensi Villa in the suburbs of Rune, Connor still had to be prepared for such things. Even with Margaret's help, Connor felt he still needed to prepare some things himself.
There were still two days until the meeting at Sensi Villa, which was enough time for him to make some little things to give old Victor a "surprise"!
