Wizard Earl
Chapter 149 Secret Meeting
Chapter 149 Secret Meeting
"It's good that you know what you're doing!" Jovic didn't ask any further questions after seeing that Reyes had already thought it through.
"I've already made arrangements in the New World. In three days, several dark wizard organizations there will riot. To quickly stabilize the situation, barring any unforeseen circumstances, the Church won't have you return to the capital to recount what happened. Instead, they will possess you and meet you directly soon!" Reyes instructed.
Jovic nodded heavily, his expression becoming very serious. Clearly, even though he was very confident in his abilities, he was still very cautious about meeting the Pope of the Storm Church, a third-level wizard who had been famous throughout the continent for over a hundred years.
"Once you return to the New World, everything there will be entrusted to you!" Reyes looked directly into Jovic's eyes and solemnly pleaded.
"Leave it to me, Reyes, don't worry. This time, I sacrificed my physical body and paid such a high price to possess Jovic, I absolutely will not allow any problems to occur!" Jovic clenched his fist and solemnly promised.
"Very good, you can go now. Leave the rest to me!" Seeing Jovic's reaction, Reyes nodded, relieved.

"Barero is dead! You black wizard bastards, surrender now, and I, Edel, in the name of the Arbitrator of the Rune, guarantee your safety!"
With a raised head filled with astonishment and covered in wounds, Edel's roar echoed across the ruins of Nantes Manor.
The Nantes Manor was no longer the grand manor it once was; not a single building remained intact, only ruins. Countless corpses of church arbitrators and the black wizards who had launched the attack lay on the ground, resembling a hellish abyss from the Bible.
Meanwhile, the surviving Arbitrators and Dark Knights continued their desperate battle in this hellish place. The situation was extremely tense, but with Edel's roar and the raising of his head, the deadlock was broken!
Some of the dark wizards among the attackers saw the head held aloft by Edel and their eyes immediately blazed with hatred. Shouting slogans of revenge, they launched an even more ferocious counterattack against the arbitrators around them. However, fear appeared in the eyes of many other dark wizards, and they began to slowly retreat.
Meanwhile, the church arbitrators immediately gained momentum and became highly motivated, gritting their teeth and launching a full-scale counterattack!
Faced with this situation, the leaders of the black wizards who were entangled with the other arbitrators exchanged glances and realized that things were not going to work. They immediately took the lead and signaled their subordinates to retreat!

"Reporting to Captain Edel, the dark wizards who attacked the manor have all been eliminated. Captain Lucas at the front has asked me to inquire about our next move." An elite Arbitrator with advanced apprenticeship skills looked with admiration at the white-haired, imposing old man before him, bowed respectfully, and asked:
Eld pondered for a moment and said, "Go back and tell Lucas that although we won this time, we also suffered heavy casualties. For now, we should not pursue a defeated enemy. We should wait for Lord Abidal, the Punisher, to return and let him decide!"
"Yes, sir!" Having received Edel's order, the elite arbitrator bowed again and turned to leave to report.
Edel glanced around at the church personnel who were cleaning up the battlefield and treating their own wounded in the ruins, then quietly left the scene and went to a dilapidated basement in the manor.
Upon reaching the basement, Edel saw the refined gentleman who had been waiting for some time. Without exchanging pleasantries, he went straight to the point and asked, "Is he dead?"
Reyes gave Edel a half-smile, then nodded and said, "Of course, now that I'm here, he's dead!"
Although Edel did not explicitly state who the "he" he was referring to was, it was clear that Reyes knew perfectly well who this "he" was!
Upon hearing Reyes's answer, even someone as cunning and shrewd as Edel couldn't help but show a subconscious sense of relief.
However, this relaxed expression didn't linger long on Edel's aged face. He seemed to have thought of something and said cautiously, "I've learned that Jovich, the Punisher responsible for guarding the New World for the Church, secretly arrived in Rune a few days ago!"
"Conte and I teamed up to fight him and Abidal..." Reyes said quietly.
Upon hearing Reyes's words, Eder's expression froze for a moment, but he didn't have to wait long before Reyes continued, "The result is that Abidal and Conte both perished, and Jovic and I were both injured. He should be hiding somewhere to heal his wounds now."
"But don't worry, although there's this unexpected situation with Jovic, I've already arranged for people to instigate a riot in the New World. After Jovic reports to that old geezer, the Pope, in Rune, he'll quickly return to the New World to stabilize the situation there!"
Edel sighed softly and said, "With Abidal dead, and given my reputation in Loen, I can control the situation as long as Jovic doesn't interfere. But Elena is a threat, Professor, I need your help!"
"Elena cannot die!" Reyes rejected Edel's request without any hesitation.
Edel frowned and asked, "Can you tell me why?"
Reyes glanced at Edel and said calmly, "If Abidal is dead, and Elena dies too, it would be too obvious. The capital isn't a place for sitting idly by!"
Upon hearing this, Edel pondered for a moment, his brow relaxing, and said, "Professor is right. I hadn't considered it carefully. I'm ready to join the Secret Society anytime!"
Edel's statement brought a smile to Reyes' face. He nodded slightly and said, "No rush. As we agreed, we'll wait until you officially take office as Bishop of Rune. We've invested so much in you, we won't let anything happen to you."
"What about those dark wizards?" Having finished discussing the crucial issue, Edel changed the subject and asked again:
"Those people are nothing but pawns I manipulated for personal gain, a feat I prepared for your succession as bishop. I have only one request for them: eradicate them completely and leave no one alive!" Reyes' tone was incredibly calm, but that very calmness directly determined the life and death of hundreds of people who had served him.
