Chapter 150 The Aftermath!
"Thank you so much, Professor!" A glint of light flashed in Edel's eyes as he nodded in gratitude.
"I will give you three months. During these three months, the Valencia Chamber of Commerce will not start any work. This will give you enough time to eliminate dissidents, integrate resources, and take control of the Church of Rune. Once you become the new bishop and everything is settled, the Valencia Chamber of Commerce will go all out!" After offering the benefits, Reyes made his own demands.
"Three months is enough, Professor. Don't worry, you've invested so many resources in me, I know how to repay you!" Edel replied in a deep voice.
"Very good, remember what you said..."
As soon as Reyes finished speaking, the figure that had appeared in front of Edel suddenly became transparent, and then, to Edel's astonishment, it turned into a paper figure and fell onto the dark floor tiles of the basement.

"Senior, could you please not appear so elusive next time?" Lena, who was at home wearing a bathrobe and a face mask, rolled her eyes at the elegant gentleman who suddenly appeared before her.
"If I remember correctly, back in the academy, Correa gave you a bottle of anti-aging potion to woo you, right?" Reyes said, carefully examining Ms. Lena who was applying a face mask.
"Hmph! Although Correa comes from a family of apothecaries, we were all apprentices back then. How could he have gotten his hands on such precious anti-aging potions? All he gave me was a very effective anti-aging potion!" Lena explained slowly, her tone somewhat fierce, but her words were full of nostalgia for that era.
"Now that you're a formal wizard, getting a bottle of anti-aging potion shouldn't be too difficult, right? Why didn't you get one for yourself?" Reyes asked casually.
"I left the academy and became a full-fledged wizard without any major setbacks. I thought I could work hard with him, but who would have thought that so many things would happen later..." Lena sighed softly. However, when she said the word "him", a complex look of hatred and tenderness involuntarily appeared in her beautiful eyes.
Lena looked up at Reyes beside her, a smile appearing on her pretty face that showed few signs of age. "Senior," she said, "if you hadn't found me, I thought I would never have had a chance in my life. Now that I've decided to make a comeback, I naturally need to tidy myself up properly. Otherwise, standing next to those glamorous young girls, wouldn't I lose terribly?"
"You knew all along?" Hearing Ms. Lena's words, even the usually composed Reyes showed a look of surprise.
"Of course, although I wasn't at Nantes Manor that day, it doesn't mean I didn't know anything. Abidal never showed up; you must have taken him out, senior. Edel killed Balero of the Secret Order and led the Arbitrators in a desperate counterattack from Nantes Manor, achieving great merit and becoming the final winner. All of this naturally proves that you've accomplished what you wanted to do, senior!" Lena's eyes flashed with admiration as she recounted:
"Very well, Lena, why don't you guess why I've come to see you this time?" Reyes' smile deepened, putting Lena to the test.
"What do you need me for right now? Of course, it's to settle your affairs, like having me monitor Edel. After all, if you don't run fast now, senior, once those old fogies in the church find out that you killed Abidal, you'll be in trouble..." Lena teased Reyes, and at the end, she even made a throat-slitting gesture by slitting her own neck.
Reyes clapped his hands lightly a few times, his eyes full of admiration as he looked at Lena. He said with some emotion, "With you doing this, Lena, I have no worries about Rune."
"No...please don't! Although Edel isn't as cunning as Abidal, he's no pushover either. Plus, he's been running things in Rune for so many years, I'm no match for him!" Lena waved her hand at Reyes, her eyes full of slyness.
"Although Edel has been operating in Rune for many years and has people throughout the Rune Church, he didn't inform his subordinates about this incident in order to avoid attracting attention. As a result, his subordinates suffered heavy losses. Moreover, although most of his subordinates are loyal to him, it's all on one major premise: their loyalty to the Storm Church!"
"Now that Edel has joined forces with me, causing the deaths of Abidal and so many church disciples, he's beyond redemption. If his subordinates find out he betrayed the church, they'll likely be the first to report him. So, to remain hidden and protect himself, he only has one option: to hand over Rune's intelligence network to you, Lena!" Reyes said meaningfully.
"Hand over the intelligence agency to me? Because I have a grudge against the church? Or because I have shallow roots in Rune and am easy to control?" Lena said with a hint of self-deprecation.
"Lena, since I've entrusted you with monitoring Edel for me, I naturally won't let you face Edel alone!" After saying that, Reyes took out a piece of paper and a token from his spatial ring and handed them to Lena.
Lena gave Reyes a deep look before solemnly taking the paper and token from his hand.
"These are the people I've placed in Rune over the years, all entrusted to you. With them here, and with your abilities, Lena, monitoring Edel will be no problem at all. This token is my proof of command over these people; seeing this token is like seeing me in person!" Reyes instructed.
Lena's beautiful eyes carefully scanned the list Reyes had given her, and a look of surprise appeared in her eyes. It seemed that some of the names on the list were hard for her to believe!
After carefully memorizing each name on the list, Lena quickly put away the token and then destroyed the list in front of Reyes.
Reyes nodded, pondered for a moment, then took out a portrait from his spatial ring and handed it to Lena, saying, "His name is Connor Ferguson, he's my student. I didn't let him get involved in this matter. Besides monitoring Edel, your other task is to protect Connor Ferguson. I don't want anything to happen to him!"
Upon hearing Reyes's words, Ms. Lena's face immediately showed an expression of disbelief. She took the portrait, but instead of opening it immediately, she said incredulously, "Senior, you actually take on students?"
