The Silent Bookstore Manager at Hogwarts

Chapter 17 Visitor: Lady Nightmare

Hermione didn't really think Harry would sit quietly in the library all afternoon reading. After all, Ron and most of the Gryffindor freshmen had already shown that wizard chess and all sorts of games were much more interesting than the books they found boring. As for homework... it wasn't due yet, so they naturally wouldn't think about such things.

However, Harry actually spent almost the same afternoon in the library as her, and judging from their expressions, they were definitely not just dawdling in the library or reading those more entertainment-oriented books. The fatigue on Harry's face did not seem fake at all.

"Hermione... is it strange that we're here?" Harry finally couldn't help but ask. He always felt that Hermione looked at him and Ron as if they were two uncivilized gorillas. To be honest, even though Hermione didn't say anything sharp, her temperament and tone did make her unlikable.

Hermione realized that what she had said might have been a bit inappropriate and apologized.

Red didn't care about Hermione's tone. He wasn't familiar with Hermione, and her tone wouldn't affect what he wanted to eat tonight. However, if he and Harry didn't hurry up, he felt he might miss out on some limited-edition delicacies for dinner.

Seeing this, Harry didn't say much to Hermione. After all, they were just classmates who had met a few times. Although Hermione had indeed earned a lot of points for Gryffindor in the first few days of school, it was obvious that everyone didn't like her. It wasn't right for Harry to point this out now, as it would make Hermione very embarrassed in front of Red. It would be better to talk to her about it when they were alone later.

Thinking this, Harry and Red finished their dinner together. It has to be said that the food at Hogwarts is indeed a huge advantage. Although Red didn't know which chef was busy in the kitchen, he could at least feel that the chef was definitely putting his heart into every dish.

See you later.

After finishing his meal, Red hurried back to Hufflepuff's dormitory. He didn't even have time to properly explore his common room. Besides, he had a tutoring session for Harry that evening, so he naturally needed to prepare what he would need for the day in advance.

"Oh, Red!! Want to try this?"

Red had just returned to the common room when his classmate called out to him. Red saw the sweet-smelling pie in his classmate's hand, and even though he had just filled his stomach, he couldn't help but swallow.

"How about you sit down and rest for a bit? Nobody's talked to you yet."

With a gentle and friendly smile, Justin reached out to Red, who had already accepted the pie and had no reason to refuse. So he simply leaned back against the cushions and sat down in the chair that made people want to relax. Although Hufflepuff's common room was in the basement, it was adjacent to the kitchen, which meant that the little badgers could often easily prepare some delicious food to bring to the common room to share with everyone.

"Red, aren't you a little... scared living alone in such a big bedroom? And don't you feel lonely if we don't talk before bed?"

One of the Hufflepuffs, who seemed a little curious, spoke up: "Living in such a big dormitory room by yourself would certainly be very comfortable, but the lack of roommates might be a bit too lonely for a small child."

"It's nothing. Keeping busy makes you feel less lonely. Isn't that great?"

Red chuckled as he spoke. He didn't feel lonely at all. His schedule was already packed with things to do. Besides his studies at Hogwarts, there were also books on great arts stored in the Silent Quarters. He even had to mentor an apprentice in various aspects of learning. Naturally, he wouldn't feel lonely at all, since he still had to teach Harry before bedtime.

"That's good. If anything happens, please let us know. We'll definitely help you!"

Hannah spoke with concern. All Hufflepuff students seemed to have an innate ability to care for and help their classmates, which was somewhat novel to Reid, but he liked his fellow students very much.

After realizing that Reid didn't really need any help, they started talking about his studies, and the first person they mentioned was Professor Snape, who could make people cry in class.

"The professor is so fierce and scary... and what he says is so awful... so frightening!"

The suggestion made by one student was echoed by all the first-year Hufflepuff students, and even many upperclassmen felt the same way.

"Speaking of which, does anyone have any clue about Professor Binns' assignment? Is that really something we can complete?"

"Actually, it's alright. I'm currently working on writing that paper... The approach could be like this..."

After thinking for a moment, Reid offered some tips as a way of repaying his classmates for their concern. He believed that such relationships could only be maintained and lasted if there was a give-and-take dynamic.

Red then gained immense prestige among the Hufflepuff first-years. With just a few suggestions, he inspired most of his classmates to complete their assignments. He even received a lot of treats, with many classmates simply giving him snacks as a thank you gift.

So much so that when Red returned to the house, his mouth was still bulging.

"Harry, why don't you try making the lens of the [Tilde Lens] yourself? I need to explore how to use magic."

Red didn't bring his wand; instead, he clenched his fist, and the power of his soul formed an almost identical phantom, startling Harry.

"Don't worry... I only recently became confident in using this move, so please don't tell anyone about it."

Red waved his hand, and sure enough, magic power would take on completely different properties after being catalyzed by soul matter. The sharpness that magic power showed under the guidance of [Insight] was completely different from the agility and versatility shown under the guidance of [Discernment].

So tonight, Red put down his books and focused on honing his magic. His use of magic was indeed very crude, to the point that he could only use many spells by throwing bricks when he was studying.

"Excuse me... is the administrator here?"

Harry's hand trembled, and he almost dropped the lens he had just finished. He couldn't understand who would visit so late at night.

He saw a middle-aged woman wearing a black hat enter the house, clearly surprised to see two eleven-year-old boys standing in front of her.

"Hello, dear. I'm afraid I'll be coming alone!"

Harry was taken aback by the words spoken by Lady Frederick Dagmar Sofia Bennaina von Nagorsburg, who was known as the "Daymare."
