Wendy's Current Status

[Shy: She was definitely shy. It was the first time in her life she'd taken her clothes off in front of so many people, especially with Mr. Wayne underneath. She thought he would turn away or wait outside. He didn't. She didn't know whether to be happy or even more shy.]

[Note: She was happier.]

[Note 2: She was thinking that it would be nice if it were just her and Mr. Wayne in the room.]

Christina glanced at Wayne.

"Sir Bishop, as a priest and as a man, shouldn't you avoid this?"

Wayne squatted down by the bucket, put his hand into the water to test the temperature, and found that the water was hot, just right.

"In the eyes of the gods, everything is pure. Besides, I am a doctor, and I treat all patients equally, regardless of gender."

Christina looked at him but didn't reply.

Wayne pulled his hand out of the water, his gaze falling on the surface. Through the brown medicinal liquid, he could see faint outlines underwater.

He looked away.

To put it another way, firstly, he wouldn't diminish his own desires. Secondly, pretense wasn't his style. Finally, this was what he deserved. Throughout the treatment, he prepared the herbs, regulated the meridians, and infused the body with water elements, keeping him busy for several days. Since the goddess had bestowed these eyes upon him, she probably wouldn't mind him taking a few more glances.

When it comes to benefits, you might as well check them out.

He rolled up his sleeves and put his hands back into the water.

"here we go."

Additional water elements condensed from her palms, and a pale blue light diffused underwater, passing through the medicinal broth and seeping into Wendy's skin.

Wendy's body shuddered.

"Does it hurt?" Wayne asked.

"It doesn't hurt," Wendy's voice trembled slightly.

"It's... kind of comfortable."

There were quite a few people around, and Wendy was mostly nervous, so she didn't have time to think about anything strange, and nothing strange happened.

Of course, if there are fewer people, such as just Wayne and Wendy, then it might not be the case.

Water is constantly flowing.

Wendy's breathing gradually calmed down, her chest heaved less, and her fingers loosened their grip on the rim of the bucket.

Christina's gaze fell on Wendy's face.

"How are you feeling?"

Wendy blinked.

"It's a little hot... but not uncomfortably so." She looked down at the water. "It feels like something is moving inside my body, from my chest down, all the way..."

She didn't continue.

Dora peeked out from behind Christina, her eyes shining brightly behind her round-framed glasses.

"Can I take a look?"

Wendy glanced at Wayne.

Wayne nodded.

Dora took two steps forward and knelt down beside the bucket. Her fingers touched Wendy's arm, and magic seeped from her fingertips, running down Wendy's skin.

Flower petals appeared on Wendy's arm.

Four-leaf clover, just like Lillian.

Dora stared for a while, then frowned.

"wrong."

"Something's not right?" Christina asked.

"The color is wrong." Dora gently pressed her finger along the edge of the petal. "When I looked at it before, this petal was a deep purple, almost black, like it was covered in something. Now..."

She paused.

"It's faded."

Wayne stood by the bucket and glanced down at it.

A pale pink petal did indeed appear on Wendy's arm, but he had no idea what it meant.

Dora looked up at Wayne.

"What did you do?"

"Unblock it," Wayne said. "Her magical energy has been blocked for too many years. Once it's unblocked, it will naturally return to its original color."

Dora's fingers were still resting on Wendy's arm, her gaze shifting back and forth between the petals and Wayne's face.

Do you know what kind of flower this is?

Wayne shook his head.

Dora withdrew her fingers from Wendy's arm, stood up, and pushed up her glasses. Her expression turned serious, a stark contrast to the peeking witch she had been moments before.

"The Witch's Flower".

Wayne looked at her.

"The Witch's Flower?"

"Witch's Flower is what they call it outside," Dora's voice lowered. "We call it the Cursed Flower. Every awakened witch has it, in different locations and colors, but its essence is the same. It's a mark left on us by the abyss, present from the day we awaken. The deeper the color, the heavier the curse."

She turned to look at Wendy in the bucket.

"She was a deep purple, almost black. That's what a curse that's accumulated over many years looks like. I've seen many witches, but the deepest I've ever seen is a dark red. Wendy's case is the first I've ever seen. Logically speaking, with a curse of this magnitude, she should have..."

She didn't finish speaking, but everyone understood.

"The color has faded now." Dora's voice trembled slightly. "It's not just a little lighter, it's become much lighter. It's changed from deep purple to light red, like it's been washed with something."

She turned sharply to look at Wayne.

"It's your water element."

Wayne didn't respond.

Dora took a step forward and stretched out her hand.

"Can I experience it?"

Wayne looked at her.

The magical element in his hand flowed towards Dora.

[Dora's Magic Perception Report]

[Target: Vayne's Water Elemental]

[Perception Result: Pure.]

[Note: This isn't the "purified" kind of holy water from the church; it's natural purity. She'd never seen anything like it in all her years. The Witch Cult's scriptures recorded that some elementalists in ancient times could control this level of elemental purity. But that was a thousand years ago.]

[Note: The perception result was pure because her mind was full of academic questions. If she had been thinking about other strange things, the result might have been completely different. Perhaps somewhere, extra water elements would have overflowed.]

[Furthermore: With her keen senses, she noticed that the curse on her body had lessened somewhat, and she was trying to confirm whether it was just her imagination.]

Dora withdrew her fingers, she exclaimed in shock.

"It really can remove the curse!"

Dora looked at Wayne and said.

Do you know what this means?

"have no idea."

Dora took a deep breath, organizing her thoughts.

"The witch's curse is planted directly in our souls. Holy water cannot wash it away, prayers cannot dispel it, and no known potion in this world can cure it. All we can do is suppress it, using stronger magic to suppress the curse until it no longer affects us. But the curse will not disappear; it will only deepen day by day, until finally..."

She paused.

"Until the very end, the curse devoured the soul, and the witch turned into a monster. We all knew we would reach that point; it was just a matter of time."

Her voice grew softer and softer.

"But now," she looked up at Wayne, her eyes slightly red, "your water element can wash it away. Not suppress it, but wash it away. What you just did washed away the curse that had accumulated over a decade."

"This is not medicine," she said.

"This is a miracle!"
