An hour later.

With the medicinal herbs and excipients almost ready, Wayne began to personally prepare the potion.

He added several medicinal herbs to the bucket; the brown powder dispersed in the water and then slowly sank to the bottom. He rolled up his sleeves, put his hands into the water, and water elements began to flow in.

Pale blue water elements overflowed, spreading in concentric circles along the water's ripples. The water temperature was rising, and the medicinal herbs dissolved in the water, permeating every drop.

Before we knew it, the fog had arrived.

Is it that witch again?

Wayne felt more confident.

The same thing happened last time I was outside; the fog arrived first, then people, like some kind of fixed routine.

Wayne didn't move; he just stood next to the medicine barrel.

Something was moving in the fog. First came a sound, very light footsteps, and then a shadow emerged from the fog. It was a black dress, suspended in mid-air; only the dress was visible, not the person.

Wayne looked at the transparent Tilulu.

"Miss Witch, we meet again."

The panel popped up.

【Tiluru】

[Identity: Member of the Witch Cult]

[Attribute: Mist-type, Tier 2]

Current state: Contradictory.

[Past: Discovered by her family during her childhood awakening, she was nearly burned to death. After escaping the village, she wandered for several years before being taken in by Christina. She harbors an instinctive hostility towards church members, but her recent experience outside town has left her confused. She doesn't know how to define this priest, nor how to define her own reaction.]

[Note 1: Christina sent her to deliver a message. She's coming to visit this afternoon to inquire about your attitude.]

[Note 2: She hopes you're a good person, very much so. If what happened last time was an accident, she'd feel much better. At the same time, she can't forget that jolt of shock, which made her instinctively roll her eyes. She kind of misses that feeling.]

[Note: If you are truly a bad person, if you are truly a pervert, if you have toyed with other girls, she will kill you, by any means necessary.]

Tilulu remained silent for a long time. Finally, she quickly composed herself and spoke to Wayne.

"Christina sent me to deliver a message."

"What message are you spreading? And who is Christina?"

Tilulu spoke her mind.

"She is the leader of the Witch Cult, and as the head of the Frosttown Witch Cult, she wants to know your attitude."

"What kind of attitude is that?"

"Your attitude towards witches." Her voice suddenly quickened. "You're from the church, and we're witches. You know the relationship between the church and witches better than I do. She wants to know what you plan to do."

Wayne pulled his hand out of the medicine barrel.

He turned to look at the cloud of fog.

"My attitude is simple. The church doors are open to everyone. Witches, prostitutes, beggars—they're all the same to me."

There was no sound in the fog.

"You came here just to ask this?"

Tilulu's skirt swayed slightly.

"It's not just this."

"What else?"

There was silence in the fog for a long time.

"That girl," she finally spoke.

"Which one?"

"The girl you saved, Wendy."

"What's wrong with her?" Wayne asked.

Tilulu's voice came from the mist.

"I heard she's almost recovered."

Wayne didn't respond.

"This afternoon," Tilulu said, "the Order will send someone to visit. To see the girl, and to see you too."

"You're welcome anytime," Wayne said.

The fog was quiet for a while.

I remembered the embarrassing situation from last time.

Wayne pulled his hands out of the potion barrel and dried them on a cloth beside him. He remembered a potion he had made before, which might be useful for Tilulu.

"Speaking of which," he began.

"I have a magic potion here."

There was no sound from within the fog.

"The effect is quite interesting." Wayne took a small porcelain bottle from the shelf and twirled it in his hand. "It can make clothes transparent."

Tilulu's skirt stopped moving.

"You're a witch," Wayne said, "with the ability to become invisible through mist. You should be able to use this potion. Would you like to give it a try?"

The fog stopped flowing.

Tilulu blushed immediately.

He must have seen it clearly last time!

then……

"Pervert...pervert!"

Wayne instinctively covered his face.

Nothing happened.

He lowered his hand; the porcelain bottle was gone, and the mist dissipated. The backyard brightened again, and sunlight shone from behind the clouds onto the medicine barrel.

He stood there for a while, then turned back to the medicine tub, put his hand in and stirred it. The water was still hot, and the medicine had almost dissolved.

Footsteps could be heard outside the courtyard.

Vera's voice came from the front:

"Wendy's back? Where's your grandpa?"

"I'm going back now." Wendy's voice was a little stronger than a few days ago, but still soft. "He said he had things to do at home and told me to walk back by myself."

As Wendy spoke, she brought in a cloth bag.

The bag wasn't big, but it was bulging with contents. She placed the bag on the stone platform by the courtyard wall and untied the rope.

"Your Excellency, this is what my grandfather asked me to bring you." She took the items out of the bag one by one. "He said these medicinal herbs have been stored for many years without being used. Now that I'm almost cured, keeping them is pointless, so I might as well give them to you."

Wayne walked over, picked up a piece of bark, looked at it, then crushed a small piece of grass root and smelled it.

The panel popped up.

The medicinal herbs sent by Old Hunter

[Iron Pine Bark: Tier 3 medicinal material, approximately forty years old. A primary ingredient used in crafting physique-enhancing potions; rarely seen on the market.]

Earthworm Root: A second-tier medicinal herb, approximately twenty years old. Used as an auxiliary ingredient in the production of antidotes. Its appearance is average, but its age is a major advantage.

……

The medicinal herbs were of good quality, and Wayne was very satisfied.

"Thank him for me."

Wendy nodded.

"Um."

She stood by the courtyard wall, looking at the medicinal herbs, then at Wayne. The sunlight was lovely today, making the bishop's blond hair appear even brighter than usual.

"Your Majesty Bishop."

"Um?"

"Is today really the last treatment?"

"Yes. After this, the magical elements within your body will be able to circulate completely."

Wendy clenched her hand on the hem of her skirt, then loosened it, then clenched it again.

"So... after I'm cured, will I be able to be like Ella and the others?"

"Yes. But don't exert too much force at first; your body needs time to adapt."

Wendy nodded.

"Shall we start now?"

Wayne glanced at the sky; the sun was already setting in the west.

"Wait a little longer," he said.

"When?"

"Let's wait until evening! We'll wait for a few more people."

Just then, the panel popped up.

[Northern Route - North of Maple Forest]

The Seven Knights' Marching Diary - Day Two

The Paladin party has passed through Gilly Territory; the journey is progressing smoothly. The seven riders are highly skilled, and their horses are excellent. At their current speed, they should arrive at Frosttown in five days.

[Yesterday, I passed through Rhodes Village. This place was struck by a demonic tide six months ago, killing all the adult men. The village's widows and orphans, along with the village leader and all the women, lined the road to welcome me. Their hospitality was overwhelming.]

[Note: The widows were indeed very interested. They hadn't seen a man in six months. However, nothing happened; the seven paladins rejected all hints and suggestions, holding firm to their beliefs in certain areas.]
