Chapter 107 I just want answers, my identity exposed?

When Ryder heard the word "Dreamweaver" from Lyndon, his face visibly darkened.

He touched his chin, looking silently into Lyndon's brown eyes.

After a long while, Ryder suddenly burst out laughing.

"Ha! It seems you know quite a bit, little priest of Graycorn. But knowing too much might be bad for your health."

Lyndon pushed the muzzle forward slightly, his finger remaining on the rifle's trigger.

"I don't care, tell me now! I want to hear it!" Lyndon threatened sharply.

He was showing Ryder through his actions that he shouldn't try to play tricks on him.

Ryder reached out and moved the gun barrel aside, saying with a disdainful look, "If you really want to know, don't point this at me, it's kind of scary."

Lyndon took a step back, tucked the rifle under his arm, aimed it at Ryder, and kept his finger on the trigger.

"Don't touch my gun, answer my questions."

Seeing this, Ryder sighed, his shoulders slumped, and he seemed to have given in.

"Alright, alright—you win, little priest of Grayhorn."

Ryder turned around, found a sturdy oak tree, patted his bottom, sat down on the ground, and leaned against the oak tree lazily.

He looked at Lyndon and told him Viscount William's true purpose.

"Viscount William's true aim was never the moth; that was just a pretext. His real purpose was to eliminate the heretics who were entrenched in the forest, as they threatened his interests."

"Then why did the Viscount conceal this matter? He could have made it public, even requesting the deployment of the police and the army to clear it out. Why waste so many lives!"

Lin stepped forward and questioned him sharply.

"Then you should ask His Excellency the Viscount. I'm just an assistant; His Excellency has no obligation to tell me why!"

As Ryder spoke, he stuck out his tongue and made a face at Lyndon, then continued, "I'm just a witcher, hired by the Viscount to eliminate those heretics for him, but we've been ambushed."

Ryder pointed to the vines on the tree: "It was because of these things that my squad was almost completely wiped out. Later we learned that the Requiem spell of a spiritual priest could make them immune to these illusions, so we came after you. That's the truth."

"As for the grudge, it's that I want to personally kill those heretics to avenge my men."

After saying that, a sinister look appeared on Ryder's face.

Linden understood immediately upon hearing this.

"So, what do you know about this so-called Dream Weaver Society?"

Lyndon was about to ask more questions about the Dreamweaver Society when he saw Ryder reach for his waist.

This immediately put Lyndon on the defensive, and he promptly raised his gun, aiming it at Ryder's head.

"Don't move! Put your hand down!"

Seeing this, Ryder quickly took out what was tucked into his waistband and exclaimed anxiously, "Wow! Wow! Don't be nervous, it's just a jug of wine."

Lyndon looked at Ryder's raised hand, which indeed held a small iron jug.

Ryder unscrewed the flask in front of Lyndon, then held it up to Lyndon's face and said, "If you don't believe me, you can smell it. Whiskey."

Linden approached with some skepticism, but upon smelling the alcohol, he promptly withdrew, fearing that something harmful had been added to it.

"Am I right? It really is alcohol! I've said so much, can't I even have a sip to moisten my throat?"

After saying that, Ryder smiled, wiped the spout of the pot, and then tilted his head back to take a swig of wine.

Then, Ryder wiped his mouth and showed an expression of enjoyment.

"Excellent wine!"

Ryder smiled and handed him the flask again: "How about it? Want a sip?"

Lyndon shook his head in refusal. He put down the gun and continued, "What do you know about the Dreamweaver Society?"

Ryder, holding the wine jug, said, "I don't know either. Viscount William said they're a group of heretics who only recently appeared, and their origins are unclear."

While they were talking, Ryder took advantage of Lyndon's inattention and flipped a small switch on the flask.

Then, he acted nonchalantly: "Anyway, that's all I know. There's nothing more to ask."

""

Looking at Ryder, Lyndon knew he wasn't lying and that he was just a lowly henchman of Viscount William.

After a moment's thought, Lyndon said to Ryder, "In that case, I've cleared the biggest obstacle in your path. Cecilia and I will withdraw from the journey from here on out."

The main reason Lyndon made this request was that he and Viscount William no longer shared any common interests.

He wanted the Dream Moth, while Viscount William wanted the heretics.

Those who walk different paths cannot make plans together.

Therefore, there is no need to continue the cooperation.

Moreover, as early as when Lyndon went into the mountains with the team, he had secretly communicated with Alastor, intending to take advantage of the situation to capture the Dream Moth.

I calculated the time, and they should be arriving soon.

Lyndon was in a hurry to deliver the bloodvine flowers to them.

Upon hearing this, Ryder took a sip of his drink and readily agreed.

"Since you're leaving, I won't say anything more."

He stood up and extended his hand to Lyndon.

"But you have helped us a lot along the way, thank you."

Lyndon looked at Ryder's outstretched hand, hesitated for a moment, but decided to take it.

He sincerely wished, "May your wishes be fulfilled."

"Of course, of course." Ryder grasped Lyndon's hand and suddenly flashed a triumphant smile.

In an instant, Ryder grew another pair of arms and firmly controlled the hand holding the gun in Lyndon's hand.

"What?!"

Realizing he had been tricked, Lyndon desperately tried to break free from Ryder's grasp, but now both of his hands were completely under Ryder's control.

With a sneer, Ryder raised the iron jug and poured out the liquid inside.

To Lyndon's surprise, what was poured out of the flask that had been filled with whiskey was a magical potion imbued with spiritual power!

"You didn't expect this, did you? This flask is double-walled. Just flick this button and you can inject the potion into it."

After explaining the principle, Ryder tossed the flask aside.

He clenched his remaining fist, his eyes fixed on Lyndon: "Bear with it, it might hurt a lot."

After saying that, Ryder punched Lyndon hard in the face.

One punch after another.

Soon, Lyndon was beaten until his mouth was full of blood.

Then, Ryder spread his legs and used his waist and abdomen to throw Lyndon onto the thick oak tree behind him.

Lyndon's back slammed heavily against the tree, and the gun in his hand was flung away.

He fell to the ground and coughed up a mouthful of blood.

Lyndon tried to struggle to his feet.

But Ryder stepped forward and stomped him to the ground once again.

Immediately afterwards, Ryder grabbed Lyndon by the neck and lifted him into the air.

"I've said before that knowing too much will only harm your health."

While mocking him, Ryder swung his other two hands and pounded Lyndon's body hard like he was hitting a sandbag.

Despite suffering such a severe blow, Lyndon merely let out a cold snort and struggled to say, "You're probably celebrating too soon, because I still have tricks up my sleeve!"

Lyndon wiped the blood from his mouth, and instantly, a blood-red short spear appeared in his hand.

The next second, Lyndon swung his short spear.

A sharp whooshing sound rang out, and almost instantly, a flash of blood appeared, and Ryder's arm was severed.

"what!"

Ryder screamed as blood spurted half a meter high from the gap in his severed arm.

So he released his grip on Lyndon's neck.

After being freed, Lyndon delivered a spinning roundhouse kick that sent Ryder flying.

boom!

Ryder crashed to the ground. He tried to get up despite the pain from his broken arm, but then several spears flew at high speed, piercing his limbs and pinning him to the ground.

Immense pain and unbelievable horror overwhelmed Ryder.

He looked up and could barely make out Lyndon, who was closing in.

Ryder's face was ashen, his eyes filled with fear and resentment.

He roared, "You! What kind of monster are you! This isn't a secret technique! It isn't!"

Lyndon, wielding yet another blood-red spear, stared coldly at the helpless Ryder. He spoke with a chilling veil, "After you die, I'll say you perished in the Dreamweavers' trap, and then Viscount William will give you a grand funeral!"

With that, Lyndon raised his spear, ready to stab and take Ryder's life.

However, in that split second, a crisp click of a bolt being pulled came from behind Lyndon.

Lyndon paused, turned around, and saw Cecilia picking up the gun not far away, looking at him with a horrified expression.

Lyndon smiled wryly and said, "I told you to wait for me where I am!"
