Chapter 40 The Guardian of "God"

"Hahaha, hahaha!!!"

Just as he was thinking about these things, Tuva on the other side suddenly burst into wild laughter, and Ron's attention refocused on the other person.

The middle-aged man's body began to swell, and cracks appeared on his skin, from which flesh and blood began to ooze out.

Bright red blood mixed with muscle tissue covered his body surface.

The other person's eyes began to turn blood red, staring intently at him with a look of savagery and madness.

Ron didn't feel uncomfortable at all watching this scene. Perhaps because he had seen it so many times, he even felt a strange sense of familiarity.

I carefully reviewed what this guy had just said in my mind:

"Fate? It seems like things only started to change after he said that..."

Some information seemed to be connecting, but just then, the guy on the other side quietly approached.

"What's wrong with him?"

With his train of thought interrupted, a thought popped into Ron's mind: This guy is about to make a move.

He slowly moved backward, his magical power surging like a volcano, ready to erupt at any moment.

However, things did not develop as he expected. The Tuva on the other side stopped immediately after noticing his movements.

He stood still, his eyes filled with madness, but he didn't make any move.

Ron didn't dare to make any rash moves, for fear of accidentally triggering the guy's reaction.

The scene froze instantly.

Time passed second by second, and the two remained in this standoff, making no further moves.

As he pondered his next move, the creature opposite him continued to grow larger. By now, its body had become a large sphere of flesh and blood, with the exception of its head, limbs, and other parts completely disappearing.

Ron's uncertainty grew: "No, we can't just sit here and wait to die."

We don't know what changes have occurred in the other party, but if this stalemate continues, we will definitely suffer losses in the end.

Thinking of this, he started moving again after he had stopped.

This movement seemed to trigger some kind of mechanism, and the Tuva on the other side followed him step by step, with difficulty but with great determination.

Even so, he had no intention of stopping.

Using the size difference between them, Ron gradually created some distance between himself and his opponent, but he was still unable to shake them off.

Seeing this, he had an idea.

He first stopped in his original position and observed the other party's movements. Seeing that the other party was still moving towards him, he immediately guessed that the other party might stop after being some distance away from him.

But he had no intention of verifying it now. Flaming wings emerged from his back, and with a flap of his wings, he soared into the sky. Only when he was some distance from the ground did he look down at the ground below.

A small black circle appeared in his field of vision and then continued to grow larger.

"How could they catch up with that?"

Ron's pupils constricted sharply as he watched the "ball" getting closer and closer. He couldn't understand how it had managed to fly.

But there was no time to think about that now; only one word remained in his mind:

"run."

The wings that were originally flapping slightly downwards have completely changed direction, carrying him back to where he came from.

However, what he didn't notice was that the Tuva behind him had a strange smile on his face and seemed to be muttering something as he approached him.

Two streaks of red light flashed across the sky, leaving no trace.

To Ron's surprise, the distance between him and the other person not only didn't increase, but actually kept closing. Looking back, he saw different information on the panel than before:

Tuva Sog (The Keeper of the Secrets of "God")

【age:???】

[Attributes: Constitution 10.26, Spirit 0.01]

[Strength: High-level Wizard Apprentice (Physical)]

[Pollution level: Physical 87.7% (continuously rising...), Mental ???]

[Comment: Some secrets, once spread, will have no effect, but if overheard by certain people, they will have a different impact. Fate hates it when people talk about their secrets behind its back.]

There are currently no available solutions to reduce the target contamination.

"A high-ranking wizard apprentice?"

As Ron flew, he pondered the speed at which his opponent's strength had improved, finding it somewhat unbelievable.

Keep in mind that less than ten minutes had passed since the change occurred, yet the other party's physique had already reached the standard of a high-level wizard apprentice.

He couldn't even imagine what would happen if things continued like this.

"And this name..."

Unlike the previous "Mutation - Guardian of Secrets", the name on the other party's panel has now changed to "Guardian of the Gods".

The meaning of this name has thus changed from one to two.

Ron also had many doubts, the biggest of which was: Does the legendary "god" really exist in this world?

You see, in his view, so-called wizards are actually just like the scientists in his previous life.

We approach all issues with a rational and objective perspective.

Do people like that really believe in God?

Or rather, do people really not feel curious about the existence of God, and not feel any desire or curiosity to explore it?

Anyway, back in the Red Moon Tower, he had never heard of the existence of any so-called "gods" or seen any such thing as faith.

Even in the original owner's memories, the remote continent where he lived only had a small number of places where the belief in gods existed. Some kingdoms and small principalities had never even heard of it.

And now, the information on the panel all indicates that gods truly exist in this world.

"The question arises: does the 'keeper of secrets' do so as a deity or as a mortal serving the deity?"

This question couldn't help but arise in his mind.

As the saying goes, those involved are often confused, while bystanders see things clearly. If Ron, who had just transmigrated, knew this news, he would probably only be curious for a while before forgetting about it.

But now, he seems to have developed the qualities of a wizard, namely, a "desire to explore".

A great sage once said that a wizard without a "desire to explore" is not a good wizard.

Of course, that's beside the point.

His thoughts returned to the present. With a flap of his wings, Ron was now suspended in mid-air, facing off against the guy opposite him once again.

He knew that he couldn't escape now.

After all, he was only a somewhat "lucky" novice wizard apprentice, and in terms of speed, he was definitely no match for the monster on the other side.

"Damn it, why do I keep running into these weird things?"

He couldn't help but complain to himself.

The pig-headed monster in the Corrupted Swamp, the Academy's inspectors, the previous wizard Mel, and now this one—this is the fourth time.

Just as he was thinking about these things, the Tuva on the other side made a move.
