Chapter 172 The Gate to the Secret Realm

Although he didn't understand why the old man suddenly blurted out such a strange question, Ron felt it was inappropriate not to answer since the other party had asked. As a civilized and polite wizard apprentice, Ron believed that he must answer the questions asked by his elders.

And so this scene unfolded in the room.

The old man, lying on the recliner with his back to the boy, fell silent after hearing Ron's reply, having asked, "You've come."

Actually, Latour didn't mean anything by asking that question; it was just because the atmosphere was right.

Having lived for so many years, I've done some things not for many other reasons, but simply because I wanted to.

To his surprise, his adopted disciple actually replied to him.

And this answer just doesn't sound right.

The atmosphere at the scene was immediately drawn into a strange atmosphere by the two people's bizarre question and answer.

This atmosphere lasted for a while before Latour came to his senses. He didn't make any move, but the chair beneath him slowly rotated in the direction where the boy was standing.

The chair beneath the old man stopped spinning only when their eyes met in mid-air.

"You're quite an interesting kid. Why do you answer every question I ask?"

Ron was a little confused by the sudden question, and she scratched her head:

"As your student, isn't it only natural for you to answer your teacher's questions?"

Upon hearing this, the old man's smile, which had been mocking the boy before him, vanished instantly, replaced by a speechless expression. His eyes remained fixed on the boy standing before him, and Latour asked no more questions.

"Why didn't you tell me about those two girls I asked you about before?"

"..."

Ron was at a loss for words when he heard this. Was the old man in front of him just curious, or was he simply bored?

He would make fun of his senior and Adele whenever he had a spare moment.

I wonder what the old man went through when he was young. Could it be that my unseen grandmaster once trained him in the same way?

Ron inwardly grumbled at the old man, feeling that the old fellow was being a busybody.

Latour, on the other hand, quietly observed the boy, probing his inner thoughts. The changes in the boy's expression naturally fell into the old man's notice. As the saying goes, old age brings wisdom; with more experience and more people to see, one can naturally discern a person's inner thoughts at a glance.

"What's wrong? You're silent again because you've encountered a difficult question?"

Ron didn't want to get entangled with the other party on this issue any further, so he used his usual tactic: changing the subject.

"Mr. Latour, let's not talk about these trivial matters. A true wizard should cherish his time. So, what is today's task?"

Upon hearing his words, Latour's face immediately revealed a playful smile.

But he also knew that the young man in front of him was different from many people he had met before. He lacked a sense of awe for power and status. Although this mentality might be a mistake in this world, it was rare for him to see something new in his long life, so he naturally wouldn't lecture him.

Some things are better understood by young people themselves.

"As for today's task, let me think... Oh, I've prepared a special surprise for you in the room next door. After you see that, I'll tell you about the other tasks."

The old man's words were filled with a magical power, like the devil tempting mortals into darkness.

Ron admitted that he was indeed deeply curious about the surprise the other person had mentioned.

Although this old guy often tricks me, and even recently knocked me out with that cup of tea, you have to admit that the old man does have his advantages.

For that reason alone, he felt he had to go and see what that surprise was, no matter what.

With a mix of excitement and trepidation, I glanced in the direction the old man was pointing, and there suddenly appeared a deep purple door in the previously empty room.

The door appeared out of thin air, embedded in the empty room.

Even though from his perspective, all he could see behind the door was the wall of the room, Ron knew that there were many unknown mysteries in the wizarding world that he didn't know. Some things couldn't be judged by their appearance alone, just like the door in front of him.

It may look ordinary on the surface, but if you open it up yourself, you might find a unique world behind it.

"The surprise you're talking about isn't that door, is it?"

Ron pointed to the only object he could see in his field of vision, the deep purple door, and met the old man's gaze as he asked.

"Of course, otherwise, besides that thing, what other objects are there in this room?"

As if he had expected Ron to ask this question, La Tu didn't even open his eyes, still maintaining that Ge You-style reclining posture, lying flat on the recliner, his tone not at all joking.

After receiving a definite answer, Ron didn't say anything more, took a deep breath, and walked towards the door.

Only when he got close to the door did he see clearly the intricate patterns on it, which resembled a small-scale witchcraft array he had seen before, dazzling and mesmerizing at first glance.

Of course, what Ron saw was somewhat different from what others saw.

For example, this deep purple door in front of him, if seen by others, would probably only cause mental dizziness and nothing else. But in Ron's eyes, the information about this door appeared before him as if it were engraved in a book:

[Gate to the Secret Realm]

[Rank: One Ring at a Time]

[Pollution level: +0.000001/day (user)]

[Evaluation: A functional magical artifact produced by the Tower of the Red Moon; this door leads to another mysterious and unknown world.]

The following improvements are recommended.

Option 1: Add a Spiritual Particle Capture Rune to the Central Gathering Rune...

Ron looked at the information on the panel in front of him, a glint in his eyes, and he fell into deep thought.

He was certainly not worried that the old man in front of him wanted to harm him. After all, if a third-ring wizard really wanted to deal with him, there was no need for him to go through all this trouble.

It's just a matter of having a slight thought.
