Chapter 149 Adventures in the Dream World
Ron paid no attention to what the girl was saying. Stared at by the giant dragon in front of him with its golden eyes, he felt as if he had fallen into an abyss, and a bone-chilling coldness spread through his body.
He silently condemned Alice's numerous crimes in his heart:
Why did they have to drag me into this? They even said they'd let this giant dragon go for their sake.
Putting aside whether you can trust this big guy in front of you, you should at least consider the difference in strength.
However, the girl clearly didn't notice that Ron's expression had lost its previous composure, and he was still rambling on:
"Triss, you don't want to be humiliated by the divine messenger, do you? You don't want your scales to be scraped off after you die and made into armor, your wings to be used as ornaments, do you?"
These ordinary words sounded so vile to Ron. He wondered what this little girl had gone through, as she was saying things that seemed completely inexplicable. You couldn't even think about them too closely, or you could easily be led astray by her words.
"Alice, you don't need to try to fool me with such a simple trick. Even if this gentleman is a messenger of God, so what? Why should I admit to something I didn't do?"
The dragon Triss stared intently at Ron in front of him with its pale golden eyes, but its tone was no longer as forceful as before, and its words clearly carried a hint of guilt.
Ron couldn't understand why the other person would believe the girl. Under the gaze of those golden eyes, he felt a chill run through his body, and his mind went blank.
"If you didn't do such a thing, why is there so much gold and silver treasure in your castle? Why did the hero never return after coming here? Don't tell me that the hero brought you all this gold and silver treasure, and that he didn't go back because he fell in love with you, you foolish dragon!"
Alice clearly didn't believe the dragon's words, looking at it with a mocking gaze and a hint of sarcasm in her tone.
Ron pleaded silently in his heart: Stop talking, stop talking...
However, it was clear that no one present could hear his thoughts. Or rather, to be precise, besides everyone else, there was one cat who could hear them.
Lady Moon - Seridwin, perched on the girl's shoulder, had been observing the enormous dragon, large enough to blot out the sky, in the distance with her dark green eyes. However, after hearing the girl's conversation with the dragon, she shifted her gaze to Ron.
The cat's expression was exactly the same as Alice's, both carrying a hint of mockery.
However, the girl was looking at the giant dragon in front of her, while she was looking at the boy beside her.
"What else could it be? Do you think there's any other reason? That guy Sauron always stays at my house and refuses to go back. He pesters me every day. If it weren't for his status as a hero, I would have sent him to meet his grandfather with a single breath of dragon fire long ago. There wouldn't be any business for you guys then."
Upon hearing Triss's words, everyone present, including Ron, wore expressions of surprise and uncertainty.
They never expected that the hero would have such unique tastes, not only disliking humans but also liking a giant dragon.
Ron stared at the other's ferocious fangs and claws, and its entire body covered in scales that shimmered with a black sheen. Remembering what the other had just said, a chill ran down his spine.
At that moment, I thought of some movies and TV shows I had watched in my past life:
Like the Ghost Rider, the Ghost Slayer...
I never expected to see something even more outrageous today: a dragon knight.
Just looking at the other's enormous, mountain-like body sent chills down his spine. He couldn't understand how anyone could like such a creature.
Alice was also shocked by the dragon's words. She looked at it in disbelief, and her previously mocking tone suddenly softened.
"Then how can you prove that what you're saying is true?"
"Why would I need to lie to you?"
Triss sneezed in annoyance, and a sulfurous, irritating gas shot out of the other person's nose and then into the nasal cavity of Ron and the others.
The moment the boy smelled the gas, his face, which had been flushed from the powerful fumes, suddenly turned sallow, as if he had been poisoned by some kind of biological toxin, and began to gradually turn purplish-brown.
Although Alice and the others were physically stronger than Ron, their expressions still turned somewhat unpleasant under this breath:
"Alice, would you like to repeat what you just said?"
Upon hearing the girl's words, a ferocious expression suddenly appeared on Tris's dark face, his sharp fangs bared, his golden pupils turned vertical, and his wings, which had been folded, instantly opened, like the gaping maw of some ferocious beast, enveloping everyone in the castle.
Alice, provoked by the man before her, clenched her fists and thrust them downwards, radiating a milky-white glow. She glared defiantly at him, her tone forceful:
"Say it again, so what? You fat bastard, if you don't hand over the hero today, let's see how you explain yourself to the divine messenger."
In an instant, the previously peaceful atmosphere suddenly became tense. Ron, caught between the two groups, felt an overwhelming pressure descend upon him, making it hard for him to breathe.
Just as his knees were about to buckle and fall to the ground, a gentle force lifted his body, preventing him from collapsing.
Sensing the source of that power, Ron looked at the black cat on Alice's shoulder. The kitten, which had been resting with its eyes closed, had now opened its dark green eyes, and its vertical pupils were looking in his direction.
The moment their eyes met in mid-air, Ron immediately understood that it was this Lady Moon who was helping him.
He nodded to the other party, knowing he couldn't wait passively any longer. If things went wrong and the two sides couldn't reach an agreement and started fighting, he, a mere wizard apprentice, would be the one to suffer.
He didn't think he had the ability to survive a battle between two forces with the combat power of formal wizards.
He took a deep breath, suppressing his unease, and then, with a solemn expression, slowly walked between the dragon and the girl.
