Chapter 71 Unforgivable Sins

The campfires stood side by side, their light illuminating the tribe as if it were daytime.

The ground was littered with shredded pieces of the guard regiment's flag, and the air was thick with the stench of blood and fermented liquor.

The guards, tied to the stakes, endured the mockery and the throwing of junk by the goblins around them, their eyes devoid of any emotion.

Roan and Celia mingled among the goblin horde, using the chaotic crowd to reach a more outlying area.

While there's nothing wrong with transforming, standing in an area where goblins are relatively scarce makes one less noticeable.

"roar!"

A deafening roar came from the largest thatched hut.

The goblins, who had just been drunk and dancing wildly, froze instantly, their faces clearing of sobriety, and the noisy tribe fell silent.

All the goblins, including Roan and Celia, bowed deeply towards the high platform and knelt down on one knee.

On the high platform, two goblin chieftains emerged from their thatched huts.

The chieftain on the left stepped forward and said something to the goblins below.

His tone was excited, but Roan couldn't understand goblin language at all; he could only catch glimpses of fervor in the eyes of the goblins around him.

Just as Luo An was thinking of having Celia repeat it to him after they left, Celia's voice suddenly rang in his mind without warning.

"Master, don't be surprised, this is a whisper from the heart."

"From now on, I will communicate with you using telepathy."

Luo An was taken aback, not expecting Celia to have such a method.

"The chief said that in order to compete for the position of chief, the two tribes will officially unite from today onwards and become one tribe."

"As for the chief of the other tribe, he will become the chief's wife and manage this new tribe together with him."

The moment the words fell, the surrounding goblins knelt down with a thud, bowing to the two figures on the platform and letting out a unified roar.

Luo An and Celia moved almost simultaneously, without daring to hesitate for even a moment.

The two of them copied what they did, and no flaws could be detected at all.

Taking advantage of the act of kneeling, Luo An quickly glanced at the high platform.

Beside the green-skinned chieftain stood a female goblin chieftain.

This goblin, possessing royal blood, was completely different from his coarse, ugly, and fanged peers.

She had a tall and healthy figure, light green skin, and a delicate face.

Apart from their distinctive pointed ears and skin color, they look almost identical to human women.

The female chieftain wore a very short animal skin coat, revealing her well-defined abdominal muscles. Her sharp eyes swept over her tribesmen below, exuding a cold aura that rivaled that of the male chieftains.

Afraid of being noticed, Luo An quickly looked away and lowered his head again.

This was the first time he had ever seen a goblin tribe merge through a marriage alliance between chieftains.

The unification of the two tribes would undoubtedly greatly enhance their strength.

Mergers are not something that can be achieved easily.

The male chief must possess some extraordinary abilities to make this female chief willingly relinquish absolute leadership over a tribe.

"Gala Gulu~"

Before he could think any further, the chief on the platform roared again, and the bone goblet in his hand was thrown to the ground.

Celia transmitted her voice almost simultaneously.

"This time, the human forces dared to invade his tribe, causing heavy casualties. This is a provocation against the entire goblin race and an unforgivable sin!"

"He's determined to win the position of Great Chieftain this time. Once the harvest season is over, if he succeeds in becoming Great Chieftain, he, Carlisle, will swear on his royal bloodline that he will lead the entire tribal alliance in a full-scale war against the human empire!"

When the last sentence was uttered, the tribe erupted in chaos.

A deafening roar, like a mountain collapsing and a tsunami crashing down, rose into the sky as countless goblins frantically pounded the ground with their bone clubs, causing the entire valley to tremble.

A bloodthirsty frenzy burned in the eyes of every goblin, the solemnity of the moment vanished, leaving only an extreme thirst for war and slaughter.

Roan also joined the goblin horde in cheering.

He saw Carlisle on the stage, his arm around the waist of the person next to him, enjoying the cheers from the audience with great satisfaction.

If this chieftain were to become the leader of the tribal alliance, the empire's borders would face annihilation!

At that point, it would be beyond the capabilities of Lord Brian alone; the Empire would inevitably mobilize its army to fight against him.

Luo An couldn't predict how the situation would develop.

All he knew was that his farm would have a hard time surviving the disaster.

"Gara-guru!"

The synchronized audio transmission sounded again.

"Before he left, he wanted to use the lives of these humans to commemorate his dead people."

Carlisle drew his bone sword from his waist, stepped down from the platform, and came to the wooden stakes where the surviving guards were bound.

The guards on the stakes reacted, their eyes filled with fear, but bound to them, they were powerless to struggle and could only utter desperate curses.

Hand up, knife down.

About twenty heads rolled to the ground one after another, hot blood splattering and staining the surroundings red.

The goblins below went completely mad, responding to their leader with the most fanatical frenzy, their bloodlust reaching its peak.

Carlisle raised his greatsword; the sound wasn't loud, but it reached the ears of every goblin.

"He said, 'All goblins, immediately prepare yourselves, line up, and take all your spoils with you to the holy site where the harvest day will be held.'"

The goblins sprang into action, gathering various items, and the entire tribe was thrown into a flurry of activity.

......

As dawn broke, the spoils of war within the tribe had been mostly collected.

The goblins, each carrying their own items, gathered in front of the tribe's gate.

"Master, what should we do next?"

Celia asked in a low voice from inside a thatched hut.

Luo An picked up a barrel of wine and fell into thought.

He never imagined that his tribe would be heading to the harvest day today.

It seems the venue is quite a distance from here.

"Since we're already here, let's go and take a look."

Isn't this the purpose of learning transformation magic?

Luo An naturally had no reason not to go.

He was eager to know if this chief named Carlisle could truly become the Great Chief.

Even if it wasn't Carlisle, the first order issued by the new High Chieftain was extremely important.

Luo An believed that knowing in advance would not be a bad thing.

What if another chieftain also hates humans and wants to attack the Empire?

"Wow~"

Suddenly, a goblin walked in, seemingly asking, "Who are you, and what are you doing in my house?"

"Wow~"

Luo An didn't care whether it understood or not, and replied with a sentence.

"Wow~"

The goblin clearly didn't understand and sensed something was wrong, so it went up to question him.

Then, its head separated from its body.

Roan quickly covered the goblin corpse under the weeds.

"Celia, let's go quickly."

To avoid trouble, he carried the wine barrel and walked out of the hut with Celia.

The two mingled with a passing goblin squad and joined them at the back of the long goblin line.

"Gara-guru!"

He said, "Let's go to the Holy Land!"

Carlisle, seeing that all his people had finished tidying up, shouted again.

He was met with fervent shouts.

His face was full of smiles as he rode a tamed giant wild boar toward the "holy land".

His wife rode beside him on a large, mane-covered horse.

The long line began to move.

Behind the chief and chief's wife were dozens of powerful goblins with diluted royal blood, followed by the goblin shaman, and finally, a dense multitude of ordinary goblins.

A procession of tens of thousands of goblins left a trail of footprints in the forest that resembled a long, winding dragon.

Their target is directly to the northeast!
