Interspecies Training Manual

Chapter 35 Specific Matters

early morning.

After finishing breakfast, Luo An didn't rush out.

"Celia, what do you think of the patrol formation arrangements I mentioned last night?"

The elven girl stopped what she was doing and thought about it seriously.

"The master's idea is very reasonable. He has considered all aspects, and I think there is no problem with it."

With Celia's approval, Roan stopped worrying. "You'll still have to work hard then."

"Master, please don't say things like that again. I'm willing to do anything to help you."

Celia will do her best to do whatever her master asks, no matter how troublesome it may seem.

"Then I'll set off first."

Luo An chuckled and walked out of the room.

"Master, come back soon."

Celia stood at the door, waving her little hand as she watched her master leave.

She didn't turn around and go back into the house until the bull's figure disappeared.

......

It was still early, so Luo An wasn't in a hurry and rode his bull leisurely along the road.

It took him more than an hour to reach Canon's farm.

The wooden fence surrounding the farm had been repaired, and several slaves were working in the fields.

"Luo An, come inside and sit down."

Canon stood at the doorway, leaning on his cane, and smiled when he saw him arrive.

Luo An entered the house, but there was no one inside. He then realized that he was the first one to arrive.

But soon, a sound came from afar.

Grant has arrived.

He rode a tall, magnificent horse, followed by five strong and powerful slaves.

One by one, the other seven farm owners also arrived at the farm with several slaves each.

The courtyard quickly became lively.

Luo An glanced around and saw that everyone was present except for the two farmers who had been vague in their attitudes.

Instead of getting straight to the point, the group chatted for a while.

By noon, the owners of the two largest farms still hadn't shown up.

"Let's not wait any longer. Since they haven't come, it means they're not prepared to participate. Let's begin."

Luo An interrupted their conversation and got to the point.

The rest of the people sat down around the table, and the atmosphere immediately became serious.

"Forming a patrol team is a big deal, and all of you uncles are welcome to speak freely about your thoughts on this matter."

Although Luo An was young, he was the organizer and the first to speak.

The discussion officially began, and the farmers each shared their ideas.

The daily training of the slaves was overseen by several farm owners who took turns teaching them basic combat skills and improving their fighting abilities.

The patrol route was quickly determined, dividing the area into two zones based on the distribution of farms within the region, with patrol teams taking turns on day and night shifts.

There are also issues related to weapons and equipment.

The previous matters went smoothly, but things didn't go so well when it came to the question of "how many slaves each family should provide."

This is arguably the most crucial issue in forming a patrol team.

The scene froze for a moment as the farmers engaged in a heated argument.

Farm owner Hunter looked troubled. "Roan, my farm isn't very big to begin with, and conditions are quite difficult. There are only six slaves in total. If too many are sent out at once, there will be no one to do the work on the farm."

Another farmer chimed in, "Yeah, we have to keep people on the farm all the time. If we take too many people away, what if monsters attack the farm when there are fewer people around?"

"Grant just bought twenty slaves. How about those with more people contribute more, and those with fewer people contribute less?"

Grant was immediately displeased. "I'm buying slaves with my own money. What does it have to do with how many people I get?"

"The patrol team is working for everyone's safety. They should issue the appropriate fines as needed, and stop trying to get others to do the work!"

Everyone chimed in with their own opinions, and after a long discussion, no conclusion was reached.

Luo listened quietly, and only spoke slowly when the sound gradually subsided.

"My suggestion is to send five physically strong slaves from each farm."

As soon as he said this, the courtyard fell silent.

"First of all, the patrol team is going to fight monsters. If slaves who are not physically fit join the team, they will not only be of no help, but will also be a hindrance. It is absolutely not allowed for them to be used as substitutes."

"Secondly, monster attacks on farms are always group actions. The patrol team is too small, and when they encounter too many monsters, they have no power to fight back. There is no point in forming one."

"Finally, everyone must contribute an equal number of people to avoid any objections."

Everyone looked at each other, their faces showing hesitation, except for Grant and Canon.

Although what Luo An said made sense, five strong slaves were no small number for them.

That's a full 15 gold coins.

"Five? Or rather, burly slaves?"

Hunter's eyes widened. "There are only six people in my family, and none of them are as big as you."

Ignoring his complaints, Luo An continued, "There are nine families here, including myself. Excluding me, each of the other eight families can contribute five people, forming a team of forty people. They can work in four shifts to ensure patrols without interfering with farm work."

"And what about you? Why should we get rid of you?"

Hunter looked at Roan. Although he had heard that Roan was very strong, he had never seen him in person.

"How much are you planning to offer?"

As an elder, why should he listen to this junior?

"I will send one member of an alien race to join the patrol team."

Luo An said calmly, "She doesn't need to be present for daily training, but she will arrive promptly if there is a monster attack."

Different races?

One sentence left everyone's faces filled with shock.

The look in their eyes as they looked at Luo An was filled with disbelief.

Who among those present did not know the value of slaves of other races?

Even the cheapest non-human race in the slave market costs dozens of gold coins to buy.

Let alone ordinary, strong human slaves, even these excellent warriors who have served as guards are mostly far weaker than adult members of other races.

"Luo An, do you really have slaves of other races?"

Grant suddenly understood why Roan wasn't worried about his farm being in danger.

"Yes."

Luo An looked at everyone present and asked, "Each of you should provide five slaves. That should be fine, right?"

"I have no objection."

Hunter's attitude changed faster than turning the pages of a book; he was the first to change his tune.

The others no longer hesitated and all expressed their agreement.

"Then it's settled."

Luo An added, "If you don't have enough slaves, you can buy more in the main city."

"Uncles, monster attacks are a serious matter. It's best not to be stingy with your wealth and buy more slaves."

"When a person dies, they have nothing left."

These farmers have been running their farms for years; it's impossible that they couldn't even afford the money for five strong slaves.

Luo An wasn't worried about this problem at all.

The farmers present looked at this composed young man and all wished their sons could be like Luo An.

"Luo An, if those two want to join us, should we still let them?"

Canon thought of the two who hadn't participated and asked them a question.

"We'll see when the time comes."

If they were truly attacked by monsters and begged to come to him, Luo An couldn't possibly refuse them from joining.

However, the sacrifices required back then would not be as simple as providing five slaves as they are now.

Luo An then discussed various miscellaneous matters with everyone in detail, wrote down the precautions on a piece of paper, and had everyone read it.

By the time everything was settled, the sun had already begun to set.

Before leaving, Luo An didn't forget to remind him.

"When you get back, you'd better check the house for anything related to goblins."

"If you have any, I suggest you throw them away."
