"What does that mean?"

Hunter asked, puzzled.

The other farmers who were about to leave also cast puzzled glances at them.

After all, monster activity has been frequent recently, and there have only been a few attacks on the farm. They dare not risk their lives.

When I opened the door, Celia had already prepared a warm dinner and was sitting at the table waiting quietly.

"Master, has the matter of organizing the patrol team been settled?"

Celia walked over, took the coat that Roan had taken off, and hung it on the wall.

What is he doing at the farm?

The grand spectacle convinced Luo An that it was him.

Roan glanced at Celia beside him, but didn't make her hide like last time.

After all, Brian's men had been monitoring the farm in the forest for a full ten days and already knew of Celia's existence.

Celia also noticed the change in atmosphere and subconsciously leaned closer to Roan.

As the caravan entered the farm, a guard stepped forward and opened the carriage door, whereupon Brian, dressed in opulent attire, stepped out.

He glanced around the farm; it looked much better than when he last visited.

"Roan Bell greets Your Lordship."

Roan led Celia to bow to Brian.

"No need for such formalities."

Brian gave a gentle smile.

"This area has been repeatedly attacked by monsters. As the lord, I have come here to check on the damage."

"Roan, I heard your farm was attacked again, but you bravely repelled the monsters."

"You even stepped in to rescue other farms when they were attacked."

Brian patted Roan on the shoulder. "Well done!"

"Your father would be very pleased if he knew how brave you were."

Luo An replied calmly.

"My lord, I only did what I was supposed to do."

Brian nodded slightly, glancing at the elf beside him.

Her pointed ears peeked out from her long hair, which cascaded down to her waist like a waterfall, and her exquisitely beautiful face revealed a simple purity.

"Luo An, I didn't expect you to have an elf with you."

He had quite a few elven slaves, but he had never seen an elf with such clear eyes.

"Celia Elmin greets Your Highness."

Celia knew this man was a terrible villain, but she couldn't show it outwardly.

"Um."

Brian turned his gaze away and looked at Roan.

"Luo An, I shouldn't be asking this question."

"However, imperial law stipulates that unless one is a noble, any non-noble race living within the empire can only be a slave."

"What is the identity of this elf?"

Without a second thought, Roan replied, "My lord, this elf is my slave."

To prove it, he even moved Celia's sleeve up to reveal the slave mark on her wrist.

Roan noticed a flicker of surprise in Brian's eyes when he heard the word "slave".

This puzzled him.

Does Brian think Celia is a free man?

Luo An thought back for a moment.

The watcher was observing his and Celia's every move from a distance.

However, their relationship was completely unlike that of a master and servant.

If Celia were a free man, both the farm and he would be doomed.

No wonder Brian came to the farm in person.

"slave?"

Brian was only surprised for a moment before regaining his composure.

Looking at the slave mark on the elf's wrist, he felt a surge of anger rising within him.

Rosalie is such a complete idiot, didn't she say that elves are free people?

After observing for ten whole days, they still couldn't even confirm his identity!

If he knew he was a slave, why would he make a special trip over here?

Should we really praise Luo An's heroic actions in fighting the monsters?

He was the one who arranged the monsters!

Brian couldn't help but laugh when he thought about this abstract operation.

"My lord, Celia is a slave left to me by my father."

Luo An wanted to laugh, but his expression remained impassive.

"Since this elf is a slave, then there's no problem."

While it's quite puzzling that a small farmer would own elf slaves, Brian had no reason to use their elf status as a pretext, as long as they were slaves.

He was already prepared to make Rosalie, who had failed in her duties, suffer the most.

"Luo An, your bravery surpasses that of your father."

"I mentioned last time I came that I hoped you would join the Lord's Guard."

Brian, still smiling, once again extended a sincere invitation to Roan.

"I really hope you can join the guard."

"Would you like to join us this time?"
