Interspecies Training Manual

Chapter 26 We should help each other more.

The old wolf's corpse was hacked to pieces, and the ground was covered in blood.

Grant looked at Roan in front of him.

This young man is about the same age as his son, yet he already possesses such outstanding abilities.

He glanced at Edmund again.

The son's eyes were blank, and his hand holding the weapon was still trembling; he seemed not to have come to his senses yet.

The gap between the two people is ridiculously large.

Grant sighed, wiped the blood off his face, and slapped Roan hard on the shoulder.

"Luo An, I really have to thank you for arriving in time this time. Otherwise, my farm would probably be completely destroyed."

Grant turned his gaze to the wooden cabin in the distance with its door tightly closed.

Behind the window, you can vaguely see two figures, one large and one small.

His wife and daughter are still alive, all because of the young man in front of him.

Otherwise, if the wolf pack killed the slaves and then attacked him en masse, even if Grant could handle it, he would probably only have half a life left.

The wife and daughters, who were powerless to even kill a chicken, would be bitten to death by four gray wolves after the house was destroyed.

"Uncle Grant, since the agreement has been made, it must be kept."

"I saw the thick smoke and should have come immediately."

When Luo An arrived and saw the scene at the farm, it would be a lie to say he wasn't surprised.

The slaves were surrounded by wolves, and Grant was also fighting a fierce battle with the old wolf; the situation was far from optimistic.

If Luo An had arrived any later, the consequences would have been severe.

Brian doesn't make a move unless he's absolutely sure of it, but when he does, it's a deadly strike!

Anyway, thank you.

Grant was grateful for Roan's help.

The farmer who was very close to him was nowhere to be seen even after thick smoke had been rising for a long time.

On the contrary, Luo An, who was some distance away, was the first to arrive on his wild bull.

He glanced at the ravaged farm, took stock of the damage, and regained his usual composure.

"Not much farmland was trampled; the slaves can take care of it later. It's not a big deal."

In fact, most of the farmland was trampled by bulls, but that was to chase the gray wolves, so Grant couldn't possibly blame Roan.

He then glanced at the group of slaves who had collapsed to the ground.

The five people were seriously injured; some had large chunks of flesh torn off, and some had their arms bitten off, with blood gushing out continuously. They were unlikely to survive.

The other four were in slightly better condition; although they had injuries, they were not serious, and they were currently frantically bandaging their wounds.

"Five were seriously injured and four were slightly injured. They were very lucky not to be killed by the wolves."

Grant had little pity for the slaves he had bought.

If it can be cured, we'll keep it and let it continue working; if it can't be cured, there's nothing we can do.

Luo An didn't speak, he just nodded.

The lives of slaves are worthless in this world; this is an unchangeable fact.

His personal opinion is not important.

"After this experience, I finally understand."

Grant wiped the blood off his machete, reflecting on the shortcomings in their response to the monster attack.

"The farm still doesn't have enough manpower. I'll have to go to the main city and buy a few more strong slaves later."

"If we encounter another attack, we can't let our defenses crumble like we did today."

Grant looked at Roan again, "Roan, if there's anything I can do to help in the future, just let me know."

He said it very casually, but his eyes told Luo An that he was quite serious.

Luo An glanced at the thick smoke in the distance, then looked around.

Apart from him, no other farmers came over, which explains why Grant was very grateful for his support.

But just then, the sound of rapid hoofbeats and rolling wheels came from afar.

The two looked in the direction of the sound and saw a carriage rushing towards them.

The carriage stopped in front of the two men, and two slaves who were driving it jumped down. A middle-aged woman wearing a rag dress stepped out of the carriage.

"Grant, are you alright over there?"

She looked at the wolf carcasses scattered all over the ground; the scene was somewhat gruesome.

However, since the monsters are all dead, it seems the problem has been solved.

"I rushed over as soon as I saw the thick smoke, but it was a long way and my son and I can't ride horses, so we were a bit slow."

As she spoke, she led a boy of about ten years old out of the carriage.

When the boy saw what he saw, he was so frightened that he burst into tears.

"Don't cry, it's okay."

The woman had no choice but to pick him up and quickly comfort him.

"Martha, it's so good that you could come."

Grant went to meet him, his tense expression easing considerably.

Her farm was even further away than Luo'an's, so it was quite an achievement for her to come over. She was much better than those neighbors who were right next door but pretended not to hear.

"How significant is the loss?"

Martha managed to calm her son down and asked, "How is the family?"

"Thankfully, my family is all safe."

Grant pointed to Roan beside him, "Thanks to the Bell kid, otherwise the farm would have been in trouble."

Aunt Martha.

Luo An greeted him.

The woman was the widow of the old farmer William.

He died of illness a year ago, leaving behind Martha and their son.

According to the rules of the territory, the farm naturally passed to William's son.

However, the children were too young to understand management, so Martha managed all the affairs of the farm by herself.

"Luo An, thank goodness you arrived early."

On her way there, Martha had already anticipated which farmers might come.

However, apart from Luo An, no other farmers thought they would come.

"Monster activity has become more frequent, so we should help each other more in the future."

There was a hint of sadness in Martha's eyes.

She ran the farm alone after her husband died.

However, due to her limited abilities, the farm shrank considerably, and she didn't keep many slaves.

Martha genuinely wanted to use the agreement to help other farmers survive.

Once she arrived here, she realized that her idea was far too naive.

"Don't stand outside anymore."

Grant greeted him warmly.

"The farm is in such a mess that it won't be cleaned up anytime soon. Come inside and sit for a while."

"I'll have someone prepare some food and drinks so we can have a proper talk."

......

Lord's Manor.

In Brian's room, he was sitting in a chair, explaining things to Rosalie, who was kneeling below him.

"Have you remembered everything clearly?"

"I've remembered it clearly."

Rosalie's forehead was pressed against the ground.

"Keep a close eye on Luo An, and don't let him take any action. Report back to me every ten days."

"Rosalie, you can get up now."

Brian got up and walked over to her.

"Yes, Master."

Rosalie breathed a sigh of relief and quickly stood up.

"Go."

Brian lifted her chin, kneaded her bunny ears, and smiled.

"I'll reward you properly when you come back."

Rosalie stiffened slightly upon hearing the word "reward," almost as an instinctive reaction.

"What, you don't want to?"

Brian noticed a fleeting change in her eyes.

"It is my honor to receive a reward from my master."

Rosalie suppressed her fear as she was stared at by that cold gaze.

The torment her master had inflicted on her these past few days far exceeded anything she had ever done before, and she could hardly bear it.

"When I return, please reward me handsomely, Master."

Brian then released his grip, satisfied, and gestured for her to step back.

"Master, I take my leave."

Rosalie bowed and backed away from the room.

She finally breathed a sigh of relief the moment she closed the door.

Hopefully, her master will get tired of her soon and go find someone else.

Rosalie may want to be valued, but not in this way.

"Luan Bell".

She opened the map and glanced at the location of the farm.

"What kind of abilities does this farmer possess to earn such high regard from his employer?"

Rosalie was very curious.

She rolled up the scroll and disappeared into the night.
