Interspecies Training Manual

Chapter 27: Accepting the rules leads to assimilation.

It was late at night when Luo An rode his bull back to his farm.

He could see the light coming through the window from afar.

Celia was waiting at the door.

"Master, you're back."

Seeing Luo An return, a smile immediately appeared on her usually calm face, and she hurried over.

"Yes, I just finished dealing with some things."

"You must have been waiting a long time."

Luo An led the bull into the shed and walked into the house with her.

"Not long after, I returned from clearing out the monsters."

Celia poured a glass of warm water and placed it on the table, her eyes filled with anticipation.

"This time I did as my master instructed, killed a lot of monsters, and brought back a lot of furs, which can be sold for a lot of money."

Celia still remembers how her master spent a full 60 gold coins to buy the antidote stone.

She wanted to help her owner earn more money.

Luo An took the cup and took a sip.

"Today, monsters attacked other farms, but Grant and his family are unharmed..."

Luo Quan recounted what he had seen at the farm earlier.

Celia's ears twitched slightly; her master's tone was melancholy when he mentioned the seriously injured slave.

"The master not only cares about the safety of the Grant family, but also about the safety of the slaves."

Celia was quite surprised that he was willing to use magic to heal a seriously injured slave.

Luo An remained silent.

He wanted to say something, but swallowed the words back.

Celia's words subconsciously revealed that she still believed it was unnecessary to expend great effort to save the slaves' lives.

On Grant's farm, Roan also witnessed his indifference to the lives and deaths of slaves.

If a slave dies, just buy another one.

"Owner?"

Celia's voice pulled Roan out of his reverie.

He leaned back in his chair and drank the hot water in his cup in one gulp.

Just now, he even had a thought.

The slave died, and that was that; it had nothing to do with him anyway.

But the thought was quickly extinguished as soon as it popped into my head.

No!

If Roan also felt that the lives of slaves were insignificant and disregarded their deaths.

That would mean he accepted the rules of this world and abandoned his principles.

Luo An was certain that he would be assimilated step by step and become the kind of person he now hated.

This is not the future he wanted to see.

Luo An stared at the flickering candlelight, lost in thought for a long time.

Within his own capabilities, treating slaves was not a problem.

If the treatment doesn't work, there's nothing that can be done; at least we tried.

"Celia, do you think a slave's life counts as a life?"

Luo An wasn't trying to change Celia's mind immediately; he was just asking casually.

Celia looked bewildered, unsure of what her master meant.

Should she call it fate, or not?

Celia stared at him blankly, remaining silent for a long time.

She recalled her master's previous behavior.

She was also a slave, but her master cared for her deeply and never treated her as a slave.

Um...

Celia pondered for a long time, and suddenly realized something.

"Master, I believe that a slave's life is also a life, and should not be disregarded simply because they are a slave."

Celia thought that this was probably the answer her master wanted.

She had witnessed slaves being treated inhumanely and felt that if she hadn't met her master, she might have thought that slaves were just worthless creatures.

When Celia first became a slave, she also felt despair about the future.

But the master was different from those people; the difference was significant.

"My master is really different."

"What?"

Luo An didn't know why she would say such a thing.

"A master who considers the safety and lives of his slaves in this way is truly different."

Celia smiled at him, her perception subtly shifting.

"I will pay attention to this issue in the future and continue to learn from my owner."

Trust level +5%

Luo An was completely baffled by this inexplicable information.

Could this increase Celia's trust in him?

"Master, may I use my secret technique to heal you tonight as well?"

Celia walked up to him.

"I feel completely healed, so perhaps I don't need to use any secret techniques."

Roan's body showed no abnormalities, and he didn't want to trouble Celia any further.

"After recovery, it's important to take care of the recovery process."

Celia was persistent and grabbed his wrist.

"Master, you not only went through a fierce battle today, but also spent your magic to treat your slaves. Your body must be exhausted. I can use a secret technique to help you alleviate the consumption of magic."

Luo An met those sincere eyes and didn't know how to answer for a moment.

Today at Grant's farm, it was all the bulls doing the work; he didn't contribute much at all.

Treating those slaves doesn't consume much magic power.

"Please grant my request, Master."

Celia pouted her little lips, her delicate eyebrows furrowed slightly, and her tone sounded like she was being coquettish.

Seeing the girl's determined look, Luo An smiled helplessly and nodded in agreement.

He roughly understood what was going on.

Perhaps he needed to solidify their relationship, but this elven girl simply wanted to be with him.

Luo An felt that sleeping with an elf wasn't such a bad thing.

"Okay, I'll do as you say."

......

A ray of dawn pierced through the darkness.

Celia had already woken up from her sleep.

Her movements were very subtle, so as not to wake her sleeping owner.

After changing her clothes, Celia went into the kitchen to start making breakfast.

Celia was very skilled; she baked bread while heating up the milk.

She would occasionally recall the words her master had spoken the night before.

When Celia carried breakfast into the house, she saw that her master was already sitting at the table.

"Master, it's time to continue learning magic today."

Luo An nodded; there was still much magic he needed to learn.

After the meal, the two went to the open space in front of the house.

"I'll teach my master an attack spell first."

Celia generated a ball of gentle magic at her fingertips, which quickly condensed into a wind blade.

A blade of wind flew out, severing a clump of weeds by its rotten roots.

She explained the key points of casting magic, and seeing that Luo An was listening attentively, she took half a step forward, grasped his wrist, and let him feel the "wind element magic".

Luo An's mastery of magic is now different from before. He quickly condensed a wind blade and cut the grass blades not far away.

"Master learns very quickly."

Celia then conjured an even larger wind blade.

Increase the difficulty step by step.

noon.

Just as Celia condensed a huge wind blade as tall as a person, a slight anomaly suddenly appeared in the magic power within her body.

The wind blades flew out and headed towards the sky.

She glanced casually at the dissipating wind blades, and following the sensation of her magic, she glanced at the forest as well.

A gaze was watching the farm from within the forest.

That aura was deeply hidden, almost blending into the forest.

If one didn't have an extremely sensitive perception of magic, they really wouldn't be able to detect it.

Celia showed no sign of distress and conjured another wind blade that flew out.

"Master, you have mastered the wind blade magic very well."

She glanced at the sun high in the sky. "How about we rest for a while and go inside for lunch?"

Lunch?

Luo An was taken aback.

Why did Celia suddenly say she wanted to come inside to eat?

He recalled that when he was learning magic, he would just eat some dry food outside for lunch.

"Okay, I'll do as you say."

Guessing that Celia's sudden cessation of teaching must have a reason, Roan followed her into the house.

Crunch!

The door closed, and Celia's smile vanished.

"Master, someone is watching us in the forest."
