Chapter 25 Niu Niu Shows His Might

Thick smoke rose into the sky from Grant's farm.

His farm was already in complete chaos.

In front of the reinforced log fence, nine slaves, each holding farm tools and iron swords, huddled together, their faces pale and their hands trembling as they gripped their weapons.

They stared at the gray figures crashing against the fence, hoping the wooden stakes could really stop the bloodthirsty wolves.

"Stand firm! No one is allowed to retreat without my order."

A sharp shout came from behind, and Grant, gripping a large cleaver, supervised the group of slaves.

He served in the Lord's Guard for twelve years and was a seasoned veteran.

Looking at the monsters attacking the farm, Grant was not intimidated; his long-dormant passion seemed to awaken.

"Father..."

A young man of about seventeen or eighteen stood beside him, holding a short sword in his hand, trembling more violently than the slaves, not daring to leave his father's side for even a moment.

He was Edmund, Grant's son.

"Follow me, don't go too far."

Grant didn't say anything more.

Boom boom boom!

The wolves crashed into the wooden stakes, causing the entire fence to tremble.

With a "crack," the outermost wooden stake was broken by the lead wolf.

Immediately afterwards, a group of gray figures leaped over the dilapidated fence, their scarlet eyes fixed on the living people inside.

"Charge! Stop them!"

Grant's face was grim as he warned the slaves, "Anyone who dares to retreat will be killed!"

These slaves are the first line of defense; they must be used to wear down the wolves' morale.

The slaves, already dominated by fear, were forced forward by the shouts from behind.

Two gray wolves, each the size of an adult, pounced suddenly. Their sharp fangs tore open a slave's arm, and the taste of blood ignited the wolves' frenzied bestiality.

Desperate to survive, the untrained slaves turned on the wolves, brandishing their swords and hoes and hacking and smashing at them.

A middle-aged slave pierced the hind leg of a wolf with a fork, but was pounced on from the side by another wolf, which tore off a large chunk of flesh.

His screams rang out, but no one around him stopped to help him; the others were also struggling for their own lives.

In an instant, the open space in front of the farm became a battlefield where blood and flesh flew everywhere.

"Don't worry, I'm with you!"

Grant didn't want the slaves to die in vain; he had bought them at a high price.

Making a move at this time would earn the slaves' gratitude.

He rushed forward, wielding his machete, his forte, and with a single stroke, severed the neck of the gray wolf that lunged at him.

Another wolf attacked from behind, but Grant didn't turn around. He swung his knife and pierced the wolf's head.

"Father..."

Edmund stared at the scene before him, his legs trembling, his voice trembling with sobs, and he could barely hold onto the hilt of his sword.

A severely wounded but not yet dead wolf lay at his feet, still breathing slightly, blood flowing from its abdomen.

He stared into those unfocused wolf eyes and felt nauseous, almost vomiting up everything he had eaten.

Grant killed a gray wolf that had pounced on a slave, glanced at his son, and a hint of disappointment flashed in his eyes.

When his son was his age, he had already joined the guard regiment and dared to follow the team into the forest to clear out monsters.

There was no time to scold his son. Grant glanced at the plume of blue smoke still rising in the center of the farm.

A considerable amount of time has passed since the smoke was lit.

If the neighboring farms wanted to provide assistance, they would have arrived long ago.

Just as he had expected, the agreement to "help each other" was difficult to fulfill.

If something really goes wrong, you'll have to rely on yourself.

Grant wiped the blood from his face, gripped his machete tightly, and charged forward again. With each flash of his blade, another gray wolf fell to the ground.

Seeing the gray wolf attacking from behind his son, Grant shoved him away, his arm caught in the wolf's teeth.

He endured the pain and chopped the gray wolf down with a single blow.

As he looked around, he saw four wolves had already bypassed them and were running towards the house behind them.

Grant was furious, especially since his wife and young daughter were in the house.

If we don't hurry back, the wolves will definitely break down the door.

He dared not imagine what the consequences would be.

Grant, disregarding the lives of his slaves, was about to return to defend when he was entangled by an exceptionally large old wolf.

The old wolf swung the machete, but dodged it.

Grant grew increasingly panicked, and his movements lost their previous calm.

It will take some time to deal with this old wolf; I can't get away from it for a while.

His slaves were also surrounded by several gray wolves, and the situation did not look too good.

Looking at her good-for-nothing son slumped on the ground, she realized there was no hope for him.

A sense of helplessness, unable to save his wife and daughter, welled up in Grant's heart.

Just then, a faint tremor came from the ground, dust billowed in the distance, and the sound of hooves grew louder as they approached!

Grant looked over.

Under the cover of night, a massive, green-haired bull charged straight at them.

The figure on the bull's back was tall and straight; it was Old Bell's son, Roan.

"Uncle Grant, I'm late."

Luo An didn't dismount the bull. Instead, he pulled on the reins, and the bull beneath him let out a bellow, carrying a fierce air, and charged straight into the pack of wolves surrounding the slaves.

The wolf reacted extremely quickly and tried to dodge, but the bull's speed far exceeded its expectations.

The sharp bull horn pierced the gray wolf's belly, went through its entire body, and came out from the other side.

The bull swung its head, and the gray wolf's carcass was flung off its horns and crashed to the ground.

It then charged at the gray wolves around it, quickly killing several of them.

After eliminating the pack of wolves surrounding the slaves, Roan noticed gray wolves approaching the house.

"Niu Niu, chase after those wolves that are rushing towards the house."

At a command, the bull sped up even faster, closing the distance to the four gray wolves.

Sensing a threat from behind, the gray wolves turned around.

"Awoo~"

These ferocious gray wolves were utterly powerless against the charging bulls.

With a single thrust of its thick, sharp horn, it pierced through the body of a gray wolf, and with a flick of its head, the wolf's carcass flew off.

The remaining three wolves panicked instantly and tried to flee.

But the bulls never gave them a chance.

With all four hooves pounding, the bull charged and crashed into the ground, either breaking the wolf's bones with its hooves or piercing it with its horns.

In a short period of time, the situation that had left Grant helpless was completely reversed.

Currently, only one old wolf remains alive on the entire farm.

Grant had no more reservations and charged forward to subdue the old wolf, letting its claws lash out. He plunged his knife into the heart, then pulled it out and slashed it across the neck.

After a mournful wolf howl, there was no further movement.

The farm was littered with wolf carcasses; not a single living creature remained.

"Niu Niu, you did a great job."

Luo An gently patted the bull's head to soothe it.

"Moo~"

The bull, which had been so fierce just moments before, suddenly became clear-eyed and extremely docile.

Roan rolled over and looked at Grant, who was still hacking at the old wolf's corpse as if venting his anger.

He only stopped chopping when he got close to him.

It seems Grant is very angry about the monster attack on his farm.

"Uncle Grant, I came over as soon as I saw the smoke."

Luo An inquired.

"Is the damage to your farm considered significant?"
