Chapter 12 The Hypocritical Elf Girl

Celia stood there, motionless for a long time.

Luo An had noticed her unusual behavior earlier.

She stopped inexplicably and kept staring at the elven slave inside.

"Celia, do you know her?"

Celia then came to her senses.

"I met Linor while we were running away, so you could say we knew each other."

She nodded her little head gently.

"It's just that I spent very little time with her and we didn't have much interaction."

Recalling Linor's ordeal, Celia felt a somewhat despicable sense of relief.

Fortunately, it wasn't her who was dragged away; she encountered her owner.

As soon as this sense of relief arose, Celia felt a pang of guilt towards Linor.

She actually had such thoughts.

"Let's go, let's get out of here first."

Seeing her dejected appearance, Luo An didn't ask any more questions and took her hand as they left the slave market.

I've learned everything I need to know; there's no need to stay in this place any longer.

Roan led Celia into a nearby street.

The street was clean and tidy, not too crowded, and horse-drawn carriages would occasionally pass through it.

"Master, what are we doing here?"

Celia was led to a shop displaying various clothing items, looking puzzled.

"Of course I'll buy you some clothes."

As Luo An spoke, he walked inside.

"No need, master, I have clothes to wear."

Celia quickly defended herself.

Her master spent enough money on her today.

She knew her master needed money, so she tried to save as much as possible.

"It won't cost much."

With the money in his hands, Luo An could easily buy some clothes.

"You are a girl after all. You can't wear the same few clothes all the time. You need to have a few decent clothes."

Celia wanted to say something, but she was already being led into the shop by her master's hand.

The shop owner, a middle-aged woman, immediately greeted the customers warmly upon their arrival.

Celia pulled her robe down a little, revealing her fair and pretty face.

The woman immediately understood and selected several soft-fabricated dresses, handing them to Celia.

"These items have a great reputation; the material is comfortable and they are very durable."

The shop owner looked at her with a smile and pointed to the fitting room, "Go ahead and try it on, young lady."

Celia took the clothes somewhat awkwardly.

Luo An casually picked out a few pairs of shoes that looked decent and placed them on top of a stack of clothes.

Seeing how enthusiastic he was, Celia couldn't refuse and went into the fitting room.

While waiting, Luo An walked to the door and looked out at the street with a bored expression.

His gaze suddenly stopped.

A magnificent carriage was approaching on the road ahead, its side panels adorned with striking patterns.

Luo An knew him.

This is the lord's family crest.

There were no guards accompanying the carriage, so Roan did not believe that the person sitting inside was Brian.

But he still instinctively turned sideways and retreated into the shop.

"Sir, that young lady has finished trying it on. Would you like to take a look?"

Luo An nodded and walked to the fitting room.

Celia poked half her head out, her face flushed.

She came out wearing a light blue long dress, stood in front of the mirror, and twirled around in place.

The cinched waist design accentuates the girl's slender figure, and the skirt hem falls just above her ankles, revealing a glimpse of her fair calves.

Celia tidied her previously messy hair a little, letting it fall over her shoulders, making her smiling face look even more delicate.

"Won't it look strange?"

Celia couldn't hide her happiness, but she was still a little embarrassed.

"It suits you very well."

Luo An took out a gold coin and placed it in the shopkeeper's hand.

"Keep the change. Wrap up everything you tried on, I want all of these."

The shopkeeper was overjoyed; these things were hardly worth a single gold coin.

Unexpectedly, this person, dressed simply and looking poor, was so generous.

"Please wait a moment, sir."

The shop owner quickly wrapped up the dress and shoes.

"Owner!"

Celia seemed anxious upon hearing this, but Roan gestured for her to quickly go inside and change back into her original clothes.

She could only give him a resentful look.

When she was changing clothes and no one else was around, Celia couldn't suppress the smile on her face.

Luo An, who was waiting outside, was not too surprised when he saw the message that appeared in front of him.

Celia was clearly aware of the kindness he had shown her.

However, thinking of Celia's appearance just now, Roan couldn't help but shake his head and chuckle.

This elf is so shameless; she clearly wants it, but she pretends to be stubborn.

"Master, let's go."

Celia changed her clothes and came out.

"These clothes will last a long time, so don't waste money on me anymore."

She was carrying several bags and telling the owner not to waste money.

"understood."

Knowing Celia's thoughts, Roan spoke up in agreement.

The two walked out of the shop, chatting and laughing as they returned to the farm.

......

The carriage moved along the stone-paved road, and the light inside the carriage was rather dim.

Linor huddled in the corner, the chains on her wrists clanging as the carriage swayed slightly.

The slap mark on her face still stung, and her back, where she had just been branded with the slave mark, throbbed with pain.

Her master was right across from her, playing with the whip in his hand with great interest, looking at her as if she were an interesting toy.

Linor had just seen it clearly through the gap in the curtains.

In a clothing store, Celia, wearing a beautiful dress, smiled sweetly at the man in front of her.

She looked like a precious treasure being held in the palm of someone's hand, showing no trace of the demeanor one would expect of a slave.

Cleopatra could clearly see the slave mark on her wrist.

They clearly escaped together during the chaos.

They were clearly being hunted down and were like commodities to be slaughtered at will.

Why was Celia able to meet such a master?

Why is Celia able to give that genuine smile and be treated so gently?

And what about her?

Linor was whipped and dragged on the ground like a dog, utterly disfigured.

Now that she's in the hands of this person with a twisted sense of humor, she doesn't dare think about what she'll have to face in the future.

Linor closed her eyes, trying to forget the image.

The more he tried to forget, the clearer Celia's smiling face appeared in his mind.

Boom!

Before Linor could react, her head was slammed heavily onto the ground by a tremendous force.

"Linole, are you enjoying this feeling?"

Levins stomped on her cheeks, ruthlessly trampling on them.

Blood trickled from the corner of Linor's lips, but she didn't say a word, only silently enduring it.

Her master is going to use this method again to satisfy his perverse desires.

Linor stubbornly bit down with her silver teeth.

What she received in return was the expected punishment of a slave contract and the merciless lashing of a long whip.

Blood splattered everywhere, and Levins, feeling the pain in his ankle, smiled sickly.

Linor beneath him did not loosen her grip, but instead bit down even harder.

The initial envy and relief towards Celia were gradually replaced by resentment and bitterness.

An extremely twisted and complex emotion was growing wildly in my heart.

Linor felt something burning hot churning in her chest.

Celia.

You're doing really well.

Can you become as unhappy as I am?

I want you to experience that feeling too.

Linor, her mind reeling from Levins's beatings, weakly opened her mouth.

There was no trace of numbness in those blue eyes, only dark malice.

She clenched her fists tightly, her cheek pressed against the floor, and her lips twitched slightly.

It didn't look like crying, nor did it look like laughing; it was a strange expression that Linor had never shown before.

The sound of the whip gradually subsided, and the carriage continued forward.

They drove toward a huge lord's manor where Linor was about to be imprisoned.
