Dark Eldar

353 17th Regiment

"Hurry up! If we're late, all our preparations for today will be ruined," said Elisa, who was barely visible (a skill triggered by her dagger equipment; it doesn't consume mana). (Class: Rogue, Level 252)

She had no money; the human girl, Alyssa, was considered the "face of the guild"! But in any virtual world today, good looks are relatively easy to acquire. People care more about "level," then "wealth," and only then "RP" (role model/reputation).

"Legendary dungeons" (red), such as "Vedar's Dungeon," aren't Alyssa's cup of tea. She's eager to find classic dungeons from the "older" versions (World of Warcraft), where leveling is fast and material drops are highly valued by Alyssa and her "small guild" (formerly "Rebel Legion 17"). (Intense Competition)

"They're here! They're here!" came the sound of rapid breathing.

"Roger that! Don't rush me, sister," the other four heroes responded slowly, while simultaneously exchanging quick whispers.

"I'll ignore the comments, I'll just leave it at that, just playing around..." the nameless female dwarf hero from Legion 17 said with a laugh. Her class was the same as Elisa's, a female assassin (level 80, had spent some in-game currency). The rest were all around level 100, and they and Elisa had already completed their first purchase (bonus), otherwise they wouldn't have been able to reach level 100.

The old-world dungeons were almost always packed with players between levels 10 and 20. Even now, many heroes are still coming. Some, like Elisa's team, are there to grind for levels or farm equipment for materials. Others, high-level heroes, are probably just sightseeing. Since carrying others here (and getting tips) is something no one would be foolish enough to willingly spend money on. (Experience orbs are available in the shop, and they're much more cost-effective.)

Compared to the new map "Bitter Plains" (level 30), the old world dungeons and maps are traditional and conservative. The color scheme and overall tone, along with the fierce and imposing appearance of the bosses, all bear the mark of an older generation's "show-off" style. Even with today's advanced rendering technology, the "imperfect beauty" would likely be significantly diminished. The physics layer, and the real world itself, are constantly evolving, with increasingly realistic scenes pushing old maps and environments towards obsolescence. However, the old versions still represent a part of this "other world," and at least for now and for a long time to come, they won't be obsolete. Perhaps, a key component of some "artifact" will even drop on an old map! Who knows?

"Sister Elisa, did you bring enough medicine?" The nameless dwarf assassin's name was "Reziwangulimaikati," a slightly long name, probably chosen intentionally to avoid duplication. It's not easy for other heroes to remember. Some names are easier to remember even with a numerical suffix. But Reziwangulimaikati...

She didn't compromise and stubbornly chose the "Dwarf" race. She's quite cute. To remember her name, everyone calls her "Rezimaiguli." Calling her Guli or Maidi would be misinterpreted as a high-ranking member of a noble mage family from another world. There are also many lower-ranking characters who could easily be mistaken for other high-level heroes. Therefore, everyone chooses to call her "Rezimaiguli," which is slightly tongue-twisting, but it gets used to after a while. After all, she's a female hero below level 100, and she's not a main damage dealer in the team.

When Elisa met Rezimaiguli, it was Rezimaiguli who proactively sent her an invitation to join the "17 Guild," and they met at the dungeon entrance. Elisa thought this young girl looked quite cute, and since she was single, without a guild or boyfriend, she tried sending the invitation. Now, Rezimaiguli often levels up with Elisa in a party. Due to her personality, this dwarf female assassin, Rezimaiguli, wasn't as diligent in leveling as the human beauty, Elisa. However, the dwarf racial trait—"tenacity"—prevented Rezimaiguli from falling too far behind. She's the kind of girl who keeps going, then takes a short break, might then indulge in a big meal, forgetting about dieting, but then remembers to grind levels relentlessly...

"Oh dear, just follow me and pick up the potions. I brought the wrong ones," Alyssa said, glancing at her magic backpack (B). She had indeed brought the wrong potions today. She had originally intended to list the large mana potions on the auction house, but had ended up in "Gwentbil's Tomb" (an intermediate-level Old World dungeon; dungeon-related lore will be omitted for now).

"Big sister, let me go back and get it. My Hearthstone is ready." The straightforward speaker was a middle-aged human warrior, without a shield, barely qualifying as a tank. He had been with the 17th Legion long enough. He had joined the gold rush during the time of the rebel leader Ludar.

"Big brother, could you please stop calling me 'sister'? Yes, my Shadowblade set is better than yours, and my level is higher too. But you can't lower yourself like that!!" Alyssa blurted out impatiently. She originally had a tomboyish personality, but since breaking up with Benjamin VI, she's become increasingly "strong."

"We've finally made it here, so we can always run away. It's not like we're new to this place. What's there to be afraid of?!" Elisa reassured everyone.

Because if they return to base, the Barbarian King will blame them for not bringing him along to gain experience. (The current commander of the 17th Legion, an elite Barbarian King, is different from the rare elite Barbarian King in the level 2 map Kevin Garnier.)

"Go in, and listen to me. If you can't hold out, remember to run away immediately!" Elisa gave the order.

She seems to be gradually developing some leadership skills, but... only enough to lead a few ordinary heroes who lack lofty ambitions and ideals...
