Dark Eldar

272 Repent and Turn Over a New Leaf

No hero dislikes Glory, because its attribute is "radiant" (light-based), so dazzling, so captivating, and so "outstanding"! —Otherworldly Discipline

The former Kevin Garni (entrance coordinates: 51313) was "worthless." Like most level 2 maps, it was barren, boring, and endlessly repeating the old and vulgar "King's Conquest" storyline. Newcomers and "veterans" alike, before even reaching a high level, were preoccupied with how to "kill" other players around them (who cannot be resurrected) and steal their dropped equipment and gold. (Note: When the level 2 maps were first designed, due to the relatively "niche" market, some original maps largely ignored malicious incidents such as players killing each other, or "red-name" players. Some new players were even killed as soon as they started playing... Later, the "newbie village" solved this problem, but whenever players approached level 20, the killing would reappear... Over time, many complaints accumulated. Later, at some point, the killing gradually decreased... I don't know if the bad guys leveled up? Or if they paid to go to the main map? Essentially, they went to another world to cause trouble...)

Kevin Garnier's Castle is heavily guarded. The castle's level has been upgraded to level 8 by the lord, "Barbarian King" (a rare elite). He originally intended to upgrade the castle's defenses directly to the maximum level of 10, but he always felt he lacked resources. Unscrupulous "little heroes" nearing level 20 would sneak in at night to harass Garnier. Hearing that the new lord was very generous, the "petty thieves" gradually grew bolder.

At night, the moonlight isn't particularly enchanting. But it's exactly what petty thieves, skilled at stealing, crave. While strong moonlight improves visibility, it also makes the guards on the city walls more acutely aware. They dislike bright light and don't even like to be out during the day. (Petty thief's identity information: neutral to slightly dark)

A small team usually consists of about six or seven people. The leader, a petty thief, is human, while the rest, some shorter and fatter, are clearly dwarves. Dwarves are always followed by dwarves; this combination is quite common in other guilds as well. Dwarves like to be priests, but female dwarves are another story... There are some beautiful female dwarves, which is probably quite unique among dwarves.

Judging from their builds, the six or seven thieves were probably no more than 20 years old (adults, real-name authentication required). Their levels were roughly the same as their ages, and some were even dressed in mismatched fashion to steal (half defense). It was really odd. Especially their hairstyles; humans might dye their hair, while dwarves had afros. (Hairstyles can be freely changed in the "Multiverse," costing 50-100G; in Kevin Garnier, it's 5 silver coins. Don't underestimate silver coins; metal resources are extremely rare. The only way to create a cheap and unique hairstyle is to choose it in advance when creating your ID. While you can't choose your face, you can choose your hairstyle. There are approximately 60 options. This design is to better cater to young people, especially those without much wealth.)

"Captain Teemo, hurry up!" the human bandit captain gestured. He was furious when he saw Captain Teemo become invisible! (Tim, rank: Captain, special ability: automatically becomes invisible after standing still for 3 seconds, cannot leave combat, meaning that even if he is not in combat and has not taken any damage, he cannot become invisible at will. If he could become invisible at will, this gnome Teemo would probably be "invincible"!)

"Roger that! Captain Teemo at your service!" (A line with a cadence and intonation. At first, all heroes like to unconsciously say a lot of repetitive lines or catchphrases. Gradually, they will probably learn to say more interesting things.)

Under the hazy moonlight, the thief sneaked through the back gate of Gludin Castle. (The barbarian king deliberately left the door open, allowing the thief from a few days ago to enter easily. It might be a trap, or it might not.)

"Wow, Captain Teemo, look! So much wood! Let's steal it!" said the burly dwarf following behind. (Level 15)

"Can you speak a little quieter? Okay?" The dwarf TIMU was angry. Although he was the vice-captain, he seemed to have more authority than the handsome human captain in front of him.

The human bandit captain was hiding behind a section of the city wall, testing its defenses. He threw a few stones to see if there would be a strong reaction.

"Stop playing these little tricks, okay?!" (A deep, powerful voice!!) The giant who spoke was none other than the towering Barbarian King hiding in the shadows! (Level 55)

He didn't carry the golden cane with him. He was afraid that such a high-end weapon would glow in the dark.

"Whoa! Run!" the human bandit leader cried out in a hoarse voice.

"The gates are closed! You have no way out! What do you say? Young men, join me!!" The barbarian king's voice suddenly became exceptionally kind. It seemed he harbored no ill will towards the bandits.

"......"

The human and the other bandits were speechless upon hearing this. They hadn't expected that a guild would even want them.

"We like to steal! You accept that too??" the human thief shouted.

"Oh, I've already figured it out. Even if I try to kill you, you'll just come back. I'm willing to accept you, but you're not allowed to steal anymore. Because stealing is shameful!" the barbarian king said methodically. Sometime later, he had already ordered all the city's torches to be lit. But the soldiers on the city walls still looked listless... They were already used to their city lord's strange behavior...

"My name is Barbarian King. What's your name, young man?"

"My name is Kavist. His name is Captain Teemo."

"Hi, Captain Teemo. I can barely see you anymore..."
