Tyrant Simulator

Chapter 5 Presenting the Map

It seems that even centaurs know the principle of "shoot the horse before the man, capture the king before the thief".

Just then, a dense array of giant spears, accompanied by a strong wind and thunderous force, struck!

The enormous ogres charged forward like small mountains, hurling heavy spears at the men and horses.

Accompanied by pitiful cries, a large number of centaurs were pierced by 3-meter-long steel spears. Driven by the immense force, their bodies flew out involuntarily and were instantly pinned to the ground, the spear tails still trembling.

Amin's spear was particularly powerful; the shockwave from its landing sent four or five people flying.

The centaurs led by the chieftain were thrown into chaos, with men and horses falling to the ground. Seeing this, Luke led his men into the enemy ranks and instantly routed them.

After a fierce battle, the two leaders met at the most intense point of the clash. The centaur chieftain's face, covered in a thick beard and filled with resentment, was right before them.

As the horses passed each other, Rogue and Parker swung their swords from the left and right, but the chieftain blocked them with his spear... This gave Luke an opportunity to strike.

Seizing the perfect opportunity when his opponent was caught off guard, Luke's steel blade flashed out like a white rainbow piercing the sun, slicing across the centaur chieftain's throat...

Just as the two sides were locked in a fierce battle, Luke rushed up the grassy slope, raised the chief's head high, and roared, "The chief is dead! Surrender now!"

Upon hearing the sound, the group turned around.

Although they did not understand human language, seeing the chief's head being held in a human's hand greatly dampened their morale, and they lost all will to fight.

A very few centaurs, filled with grief and indignation and eager to avenge their chieftain, were shot dead by the cavalry led by Rogue and Puck before they could even reach him... The rest of the centaurs suffered heavy casualties, with only about a hundred remaining to surrender to Luke.

The battle ended in a complete victory for Luke.

Most of the tribe's men and horses perished in the night raid, leaving only a scattered hundred or so. They were taken prisoner by Luke and, along with all the spoils of war from the camp, were escorted back to Wood Castle.

With the destruction of the horse tribes in the Reach, the free people of Woodburg were finally free from worries and could live there in peace.

The victor is king, the loser is villain; the strong take all—that's the rule of the centaurs.

Even among members of the same clan, fighting and annexation often occurred, and it was commonplace for the loser to become a slave.

After settling the prisoners of war, Rogge and the others beamed with the excitement of victory—this was the first time they had fought for themselves, and the significance of their victory was naturally exceptional.

Luke's expedition yielded a large amount of spoils: hundreds of cattle and sheep, and countless grains and wheat... a truly bountiful harvest, meaning he no longer needs to worry about food for the time being.

Just as he was about to give orders to prepare a grand banquet to reward the victorious warriors, someone reported, "Lord Luke, a centaur prisoner of war speaks human language and says he has something to offer..."

Curious, Luke said, "Let him in."

A centaur was being led in timidly.

His shoulders were slightly slumped, and his demeanor was somewhat sleazy. Among the centaurs, who were all "bodybuilding champions," he was hardly considered to have a good physique.

Luke, seated in the main seat, looked down at him and asked, "What's your name? Why can you speak human language?"

The centaur dared not be negligent and replied cautiously, "My name is Bill. My original tribe was annexed by the River Bend Centaurs a few years ago, and I became the chief's riding slave... Later, because of my meticulous work, I was assigned to do business in the border market of the Empire, so I have some knowledge of Elvish and human languages."

Ah, this is indeed a talented translator. Keeping him around will surely come in handy in the future.

Luke nodded in satisfaction: "Where is this border market you mentioned, and what kind of trade does it do?"

"It's just outside White Deer Castle, not far from here. The High Elves have set up eight trading posts to stabilize the frontier... The area is a melting pot of races, where High Elves, Dwarves, and Goblins can all trade."

We horses and cavalry mainly exchange cattle, sheep, and furs for food; as for humans, some do small businesses... but if I may be frank, most are traded as goods in slave markets.

Luke was not angry but happy upon hearing this: Now that we know there is a place of trade, we can go there to exchange what we need and trade with each other... In the future, why should we worry about not having enough resources to expand and develop?

Furthermore, once the population under its rule exceeds 5, the simulator can summon a tyrant again, and expanding the population is an inevitable trend for humanity to grow and thrive in this wilderness.

Freeing slaves would be a good option.

"M-Sir?" Seeing him lost in thought, Bill asked tentatively.

"Oh?" Luke snapped out of his reverie. "By the way, you said you had something to offer me?"

Bill respectfully presented a piece of parchment with both hands: "Respected human... this is something I secretly traded for five goatskins at the market, thinking it might come in handy if I ever had a chance to escape the river bend. Now I give it to you, hoping it will save my life."

Luke opened it and his pupils contracted sharply. He exclaimed with a hint of excitement, "This...this is...a complete map of the monster distribution in the Wilderness!"

According to the map, the northern Obsidian Mountains are dotted with caves, and the sheer number of monsters is so overwhelming that it can only be described as "dazzling".

The location of each cave, the type of monster that lives there, and the size of the group are all clearly marked.

The Jungfrau, one of the nine peaks, is home to at least three ogre caves, five troll caves, and one minotaur tribe.

In the southwest, the region of Molin is divided among three major races: goblins, gnolls, and night elves, with their spheres of influence intertwined and interdependent.

As for the southeast—the entire Hun River basin plain where Luke is stationed—it is almost entirely monopolized by the centaur race, a region divided into several warlords.

In this boundless grassland, the horse tribes live by following the water and grass, and can be divided into five major clans such as "Mane" and "Iron Hoof", with a population of over 10,000; there are also more than 20 small and medium-sized tribes such as "Riverside" and "Black Ground", with thousands of people... Large and small camps are scattered along both banks of the river.

The "River Bend" tribe, which was just wiped out, was one of these twenty-odd small tribes.

Although they belong to the same clan, each tribe governs itself independently, and conflicts and battles occur frequently, making it impossible to form a cohesive force.

Luke's gaze sharpened, and he thought to himself: Although the more than 200,000 centaurs of Hunhe are still in a primitive and loose tribal political system and their equipment is backward, they have the advantage of fierce folk customs, skill in archery and horsemanship (they are horses themselves), and extremely strong individual combat ability and mobility.

If I were to unify these miscellaneous tribes and, with the aid of modern military training and organization, I would undoubtedly be able to create a formidable army that could sweep across the grasslands…

Then hegemony can be achieved, and humanity can prosper!

Luke, now holding the map, felt a surge of pride and said with a grin, "Bill, you've done me a great service, and I'll reward you handsomely... From now on, you're no longer a prisoner of war or slave, but a free citizen of Woodburg, free to come and go as you please!"

He quickly got down and shook Bill's hand: "However, I sincerely hope you can stay and offer me advice... Let's work together on this important matter!"
