Hogwarts: Who uses a crowbar in wizard duels?
Chapter 9 Flight Lessons
The sudden system notification startled Kevin. He quickly looked around but didn't see Snape.
How did Snape suddenly come to approve of him?
Oh damn, he'll definitely use an invisibility spell...
Kevin was sweating; he seemed to have just been talking to himself and saying a lot of bad things about the old bat.
"Kevin? Are you alright?" Hermione asked with concern.
Seeing Kevin, who was just excited, suddenly quiet down and even looked a little guilty, I was a little worried that Snape might have caused Kevin psychological problems. After all, he was an orphan and his mentality might not be very strong.
"It's okay... let's go back..."
Kevin quickly tidied up his notes, and he immediately noticed a bright 99 at the top.
Kevin gasped.
My life is over!
The old bat really is there!
"Kevin?"
Seeing Kevin still motionless, Hermione became increasingly worried about him; his reactions from just now until now had been truly frightening.
One moment he's laughing out loud, the next he's self-harming, then he feels guilty, then he's stunned.
"It's okay, it's okay..."
Kevin sluggishly finished packing up all his notes, took his books with him, and quickly left the classroom.
Kevin ate the bread and juice Hermione had brought him, and then went straight back to his dorm.
Hermione could tell that Kevin had successfully concocted the potion. She wanted to discuss the potion with him, but she was a little worried about Kevin's mental state, so she didn't ask and just told Kevin to go back and rest.
......
the next day.
Kevin woke up early in the morning.
I overused my brain yesterday, and fell asleep as soon as I got back.
After sleeping for about ten hours, he felt refreshed and invigorated.
That old bat is laughable.
Kevin felt like he was back in action.
He tiptoed out of the dormitory again.
The staircase outside keeps changing. He wandered aimlessly to the first floor and found himself in a different place than yesterday. It was truly unbelievable.
However, he still found the place where he had exercised yesterday morning and started a new day of exercise.
Snape, who had spent another night brewing potions, happened to pass by and saw Kevin again.
Seeing Kevin's energetic training, Snape sneered.
I've made up my mind.
But he's going to sleep now.
......
When Kevin returned, he found that Harry and Ron were already awake, without him having to wake them.
They both looked at Kevin with concern, while Kevin ran off to take a shower, as he couldn't be near Hermione while covered in stench.
They soon arrived at the meeting hall.
"Good morning, Hermione." Kevin saw Hermione reading a book while eating breakfast and immediately went over to greet her.
"Good morning, Kevin. How are you feeling?"
Hermione saw Kevin arrive and greeted him with concern.
"What can I do? I'm perfectly fine." Kevin patted his chest, indicating that everything was alright.
"That's good. I was worried you might develop some kind of psychological trauma."
Seeing Kevin wolfing down his food, Hermione felt relieved. She had been genuinely worried that her newly acquainted study buddy had developed mental problems.
Then, after a short while, she couldn't help but ask Kevin about yesterday's Potions class.
Kevin was naturally happy to answer her questions.
Seeing the two start to get back into the swing of things again, Harry and Ron shrugged helplessly and continued eating their breakfast.
As the two were chatting, a series of noises suddenly came from the ceiling. When they looked over, they saw a flock of owls flying in carrying some packages.
"The mail's here." Ron looked up and saw a bundle of newspapers and a letter tossed in front of him.
Hermione also received a letter, while Neville received a glass ball, which Hermione said was a memory ball. If Neville forgot something, the memory ball would emit red smoke.
The key is that Neville doesn't know what he forgot either.
Harry borrowed Ron's newspaper to read. Kevin knew what it was about; it was nothing more than Gringotts Vault 713 being burgled, the same vault Harry and Hagrid had visited once before.
Harry immediately told the others about it.
It's none of their business, and I don't know why these three little ones have such serious and puzzled expressions.
Kevin, on the other hand, was munching on his breakfast with heavy gusto.
"Kevin, don't you think this is suspicious? Hagrid and I just went to retrieve something from inside, and a while later it was robbed."
Looking at Kevin's nonchalant attitude, Harry asked curiously.
"What's so suspicious about that? It proves that it is indeed a valuable item, and that the information has been leaked, indicating that someone wants to get their hands on it."
"But what does this have to do with us? If the sky falls, someone taller will hold it up; the principal and professors will handle it."
Kevin could guess that Dumbledore must have leaked the information, luring Quirrell, who was being parasitized by Voldemort, to steal the Philosopher's Stone hidden there.
The news reports are meant to attract Harry's attention and foreshadow future events.
Harry agreed with the first half of Kevin's statement, but disagreed with the second half. He felt that this matter might be related to him, and that he might bear some responsibility.
"Harry, don't overthink it. There's nothing you can do right now. Things will work themselves out. When it's your turn to step in, you won't be able to escape." Kevin, unusually, played the riddle-maker, saying something rather cryptic.
None of them understood, and they looked at Kevin, who was showing off his flirtatious manner, with strange expressions.
After quickly finishing breakfast, the morning class was on herbalism, and the group went together to the herbalism greenhouse.
The herbalist was taught by Ms. Pomona Sprout.
I looked at a very talkative professor.
The herbalism class wasn't anything special; it just taught the young wizards about herbs, how to transplant, care for, harvest, and cultivate them, and other related knowledge.
For Kevin, whose potion talent is 15, it was no challenge at all.
Potions and herbs are interconnected. People who understand herbs may not be able to make potions, but those who can make potions certainly know how to identify and understand herbs.
So Herbology class was spent in a quiz between Hermione and Kevin, and Gryffindor earned another 10 points.
In the afternoon, it was time for the flying lesson that all the young wizards were looking forward to.
Except for Kevin, who clearly saw that his talent for flying was only 1...
Good afternoon, students.
Flight instructor, Mrs. Rolanda Hodge, makes her entrance.
"Class is now starting. Students, stand to the left of the flying broomstick. Quickly!"
The group of young wizards obediently stood over there.
"Now extend your right hand and say to your brooms: Arise!"
Everyone started trying, and Harry was the most talented; the broom responded to him immediately.
Then it was Draco's turn; the rest of the people had to shake their brooms a few times before they got up.
Kevin looked at the broom at his feet and was speechless. No matter how much he shouted, the broom didn't budge an inch.
Neville's broom at least wobbled a little.
Kevin was so angry that he kicked the broom.
"Oh, Mr. Kevin, you must treat the flying broomstick well and call out to it with feeling."
Mrs. Hodge's eagle eyes immediately spotted Kevin's actions.
"..."
How can you expect me to feel any emotion towards a broom?
Kevin said he didn't understand.
In the end, only Kevin and Neville couldn't summon the broom, so they had to pick it up by hand.
Hermione looked at Kevin, her little head held high, looking very proud. Finally, there was a subject in which she was better than Kevin.
But the next moment she frowned, revealing that she didn't actually like flight class either, as she was a liberal arts student.
"Next, I'll count to three, and you'll push off the ground with both feet, slowly control the broom to fly up, and then press down on the front end of the broom to bring it down."
Everyone sat on their brooms and waited for Mrs. Hodge's instructions.
Before she could even count to three, Neville and Kevin's brooms flew off of their own accord.
Well, Neville and I are on the same level.
Kevin remained calm; his superior physical abilities allowed him to maintain his balance on the uncontrollable flying broom.
Neville, however, was not in such good condition. He panicked on the broom, and Mrs. Hooch quickly helped them both get off.
Kevin tried to control the direction, but the broom flipped over and threw Kevin off.
Everyone gasped in surprise, while Draco wore a wicked grin, as if he had gotten his revenge.
However, Kevin did a beautiful turn in the air like a gymnast and landed smoothly.
Wow.
"I think you guys should pay more attention to Neville," Kevin thought to himself as he landed and watched Neville fly higher and higher.
"Mr. Longbottom, bring the broom down and hold down the tip!"
Mrs. Hodge, seeing that Kevin was alright, quickly called out to Neville.
Instead of coming down, Neville's broom started flying around wildly and ended up hanging him on a statue at the top of a tower.
Then the cloak, unable to support Neville's weight, was torn and fell down.
The height wasn't actually that high; Kevin was already waiting below.
As Neville hung on the second hook and fell, Kevin caught him.
A constitution of 15 points is terrifying.
Although Neville is chubby, he is still a child, and the strength beyond that of an adult easily caught Neville steadily.
Wow!
The little wizard was stunned once again.
"Mr. Kevin, Mr. Longbottom, how are you?"
Mrs. Hodge was a step behind Kevin and quickly ran over.
"I'm fine, Mrs. Hodge, but Neville seems to be frightened."
Kevin helped the chubby boy, who seemed to have lost his soul, to his feet and said to Madam Hodge.
"Mr. Kevin, while I would like to commend you, your actions just now were also very dangerous. You could have been injured catching a heavy object falling from a great height."
"I know I was wrong. Why don't you take Neville to the infirmary first?" Faced with Mrs. Hooch's reprimand, Kevin didn't argue, but shrank back and tried to change the subject.
"I'm taking Mr. Longbottom to the infirmary. You all wait here. If I see any of you riding on a broomstick, you'll never have to take flying lessons again."
Lady Hodge turned around and spoke sternly to the group of young wizards, then helped Neville away.
Soon a group of young wizards cheered and surrounded Kevin. Kevin was so cool just now.
Draco tossed the memory orb he had just picked up, feeling very annoyed that all his limelight had been stolen.
Harry quickly noticed the glass ball in Draco's hand and said to Draco, "Give it to Malfoy."
Draco, still furious, sneered, "Come and get it yourself if you dare."
Before Harry could react, she flew up into the sky on her broomstick.
"What's wrong? Is it too high to reach?" Draco said provocatively to Harry, then glanced at Kevin, seemingly also addressing him.
What's the use of being so powerful if you still can't fly?
The next moment, with a whoosh, a pebble whistled past Draco's ear.
"Draco, don't think I can't catch you just because you're in the sky." He tossed the stone in his hand.
Looking at Draco, who was drenched in a cold sweat in the sky, Kevin said to Harry, "Go, Harry, you can do it."
Harry nodded and flew up on his broomstick.
Draco, in a fit of rage, threw Neville's Memory Ball far away.
Harry displayed his extraordinary flying talent, catching up with the ball and grabbing it.
This also caught Professor McGonagall's attention.
The reason Kevin didn't shoot Draco down directly is this: Harry's flying talent was discovered by Professor McGonagall at this time.
Harry flew back amidst cheers, accompanied by Professor McGonagall, who called Harry away.
Kevin put his arm around Draco's shoulder and whispered threats at him, making Draco tremble and dare not resist.
Kevin doesn't actually dislike Draco. Although he later joined the Death Eaters, it's clear that he's a pitiful kid who lacks recognition, has no opinions of his own, and has been brainwashed by his feudal family.
There might be an opportunity to turn them around later, but for now, we need to build up our influence first.
Hermione watched as one student was taken away by the professor for breaking the rules, while another was playing around like a gangster, intimidating children. She suddenly felt worried about the future of Gryffindor.
