Hogwarts: Who uses a crowbar in wizard duels?

Chapter 47 The Prisoners of Azkaban

Nighttime, with stars overhead.

The campfire in front of the campsite crackled and popped from time to time.

The six children each sat on a camping chair around the campfire, holding a fish skewered on a wooden spike, trying to grill the fish over the fire.

"As expected, grilling fish over an open flame requires a lot of skill..."

Kevin stared at the charred fish on his hand and fell silent.

The others were in a similar situation. They had already eaten dinner, but they wanted to try grilled fish, which they had caught in the afternoon.

"It's a pity I didn't bring Crook Mountain out; it would have been very happy to eat it."

"I don't want him to eat your charred fish. What if he gets a stomachache?" Hermione said speechlessly.

Ron complained to Kevin about Hermione's cat.

"Kevin, could you also help keep an eye on that cat? It keeps trying to scratch Spotty."

"Ron, the cat catching the mouse proves he's a good cat, there's nothing I can do about it." Kevin shrugged, indicating that he couldn't help.

"You're such a womanizer!" Ron said angrily.

Kevin stands with his hands on his hips.

"By the way, Ron, how long have you had that mouse?"

Ron was taken aback, then recalled, "It's been more than ten years, I think. I only remember him being in my house when I was very young."

"So long? Rats don't usually live that long." Hermione was taken aback.

"Really? Cats and dogs can live for more than ten years, what's so strange about that?" Ron obviously hadn't looked into the lifespan of mice.

"In fact, the average lifespan of a mouse is only about two or three years," Kevin said.

"...You mean, Scabbers is a magical creature?" Ron was a little surprised, and even a little delighted.

"..."

Kevin was speechless; he was trying to point out that there was something wrong with the rat.

Never mind, it's not appropriate to talk about it now.

"Kids, it's getting late, it's about time to rest. We have activities to do tomorrow."

Just then, the Grangers came over; it was around 10 p.m.

The little radishes obediently packed up and went back to their tents.

However, they obviously wouldn't go to sleep that early; everyone was sitting in the hall inside the tent.

There's a huge rug here, surrounded by soft cushions, where people can lean against each other and chat.

As they chatted, the conversation turned to Hogwarts.

"Last year's Lockhart class was a complete waste of time."

Draco said with a look of disgust.

"Indeed, I feel like I didn't learn anything about defense against the dark magic; instead, I just listened to him tell stories from the entire school year."

"I'm really curious whether his stories are true or false. I don't think he can necessarily beat us."

Harry was speechless as he recalled his previous class experiences.

"No need to think about it, he definitely can't win. Ron could even kill him." Kevin nodded seriously.

"Are you praising me or insulting me?" Now it was Ron's turn to be annoyed.

The group chuckled.

"Who do you think will be Defense Against the Dark Arts class next year? Does Professor Snape have a chance?"

Draco said the key question was Kevin, since he and Snape had the best relationship.

"It's definitely not his. If it were Professor Snape, he would definitely have written me a threatening letter, telling me to prepare myself or something..." Kevin complained.

They were unsure whether Kevin had gained their trust or was being targeted.

As the group was chatting, a flapping sound, somewhat like a bird, suddenly came from outside the tent. The next moment, an owl darted into the tent.

"Huh? Is this an owl that's delivering a letter?" The group was taken aback. Kevin waved his hand, and the owl flew over, landing on Kevin's arm and tossing him the envelope it was carrying in its beak.

"Professor Snape's letter..." Kevin was taken aback.

The others were stunned. They had just said that if Snape took over the Defense Against the Dark Arts class, they would write him a threatening letter, and now a letter had actually arrived.

Kevin opened the letter, his expression turning somewhat surprised.

"What's wrong, Kevin? Did they really say it right? Professor Snape is going to be the Defense Intelligence Department teacher next year?"

The group asked with expressions of curiosity.

"No, he demanded that I bring Harry back to Hogwarts within three days..."

Kevin put down the letter and spoke to Harry.

"What?"

Everyone was shocked. There was still a little over a week and a day before school started, so why was Harry suddenly being asked to go back?

"Kevin, what's going on?" Harry realized something was about to happen.

"Well... I personally don't think it's a big deal, but the people above think it is."

"To put it simply, Harry, a prisoner from Azkaban escaped specifically to find you. Aren't you touched?"

Kevin said, half-jokingly.

However, instead of laughing, the group looked bewildered.

"What!? Azkaban?" Draco exclaimed, and the others were also startled.

"Don't get agitated, listen to me."

Kevin interrupted the group of easily startled little radishes from their attempt to continue asking questions.

"According to Professor Snape's information, this prisoner is... oh wait, Professor Snape told me not to tell you... never mind."

"That prisoner's name is Sirius Black, Harry. He was a friend of your parents back then. Your parents hid with you, and then he betrayed your parents' location to Voldemort, which led to Voldemort finding them and causing your family to be destroyed."

"He was later captured and imprisoned in Azkaban for 12 years. Now, he has escaped and is here specifically to kill you to eliminate any future trouble, Harry."

These are all things Kevin himself said.

Snape's letter only stated that Sirius had escaped from prison and was coming to find Harry Potter, asking him to bring Harry back to Hogwarts within three days.

Kevin's decision to give Harry false information first, and then let Harry find out the truth himself, is meaningless to Kevin.

The group of little radish girls were stunned by the news and couldn't react for a moment. They never expected that there was such a secret back then.

Harry was also stunned by this sudden information, but his expression immediately turned a little red. He now realized that his parents were betrayed when they were murdered!

"Harry, I shouldn't have told you this. Be careful not to say I leaked it."

"Is that the point, Kevin? The point is that there's an Azkaban villain who wants to kill Harry."

Ron couldn't help but emphasize.

"Don't worry, Azkaban is a million miles away from here. It'll be at Hogwarts in three days. That guy can't do anything to Harry."

"Oh, right, Professor Snape also said that someone will buy our textbooks for this school year, so all we need to do is leave for Hogwarts as soon as possible."

Ron was speechless again. Was the point the distance to Azkaban?

The important thing is that someone wants to kill Harry!

"So how do you plan to get there?" Hermione asked, a little worried and reluctant.

"We can just take the train together then. This time, the enrollment period is open earlier, and there is a train at the same time every day."

So everyone expressed their desire to go back to Hogwarts together, since they were all in the same group anyway.

Harry had been silent ever since he heard the news about Kevin, his expression shifting between anger and uncertainty, his fists clenched tightly.

"Alright, you all go and rest now. We can talk to the adults about these things tomorrow; it's too late today."

"Harry, let's go outside and talk."

Everyone looked at Harry with some concern; the news was too shocking for him.

Everyone thought Voldemort came to them on his own, but it turns out he was betrayed by his own people, which led to Voldemort's arrival.

And now this enemy who wiped out his entire family is actually planning to eliminate him completely.

After that, everyone had to go back to rest, while Kevin led Harry out of the tent.

"Harry, there's one more thing I didn't mention. Sirius Black is still your godfather."

"!!" Harry's eyes widened in anger. He couldn't understand why! Why would he betray his parents when they trusted him so much?

"Kevin! I don't want to go back! I want to wait for him to come to me! I want to fight him to the death!" Harry shouted, losing control of his emotions.

He is now almost blinded by hatred.

"Hiss, that guy probably doesn't have a wand right now. That makes sense. Let's ambush him and then turn the tables..."

Kevin was actually seriously considering this issue as well.

Harry was thrilled by the suggestion; he longed to wait for Sirius to come to him so he could kill him with his own hands.

"But Harry, have you considered this: Sirius has no idea you're here. He only knows you're going to Hogwarts, so he'll definitely go there to find you. What if you don't go and can't find him then?"

Harry was taken aback; he clearly hadn't considered this possibility.

Actually, this was Kevin's excuse to coax Harry into going to Hogwarts. Sirius Black would definitely find Harry, but Harry didn't know that.

"this..."

Kevin patted Harry on the shoulder.

"Harry, when have I ever lied to you? Don't think too much about it now. Let's go back to Hogwarts together. If Sirius comes, I will definitely help you."

"Now, I hope you can calm down first."

Harry felt the strong hand on his shoulder, and his heart gradually calmed down.

Kevin is right. Anger won't help. He's going back to Hogwarts to wait for that person to arrive. He's going to avenge his parents!

"I understand, Kevin."

Kevin smiled, put his arm around Harry's neck, and led him back to the tent to rest.

This trip has to end abruptly.
