Peninsula: My mentor Kim Tae-yeon

Chapter 10 I Have Money But I Don't Spend It

Thumbs up!

Su Xia picked up the cup and drank more than half of it in one gulp before putting it down.

"Cool!"

Su Xia felt as if all the water she had lost was being replenished in that instant.

Rain after a long drought is an example of this.

"Great, you've made tremendous progress." Kim Tae-yeon clapped and praised from the side. In just one week, Kim Tae-yeon had witnessed Su Xia transform from a complete novice to someone who was almost at her debut level, and a sense of pride as a teacher welled up within her.

Wonderful~

"Damn, with my talent and a private tutor like you, we're unbeatable!" Su Xia said, giving a thumbs up.

Kim Tae-yeon couldn't help but laugh.

This was indeed the first time she had taught her students so openly and without reservation.

"Next, you'll learn something else."

"Still want to study? I really don't have a single drop left!" Su Xia wailed.

"This is an essential skill: recording and editing videos. You don't know how to shoot videos?" Kim Tae-yeon said with a smile, looking at the wailing Su Xia.

Upon hearing this, Su Xia immediately stopped crying.

Indeed, if you can't shoot or record videos, you're not even capable of filming, damn it.

"Should I use my phone or DJI drone to take the picture?"

DJI.

Luckily, Su Xia had saved up money to buy a DJI drone during her student days, otherwise she would have had to spend a lot of money to buy one now.

I took the DJI camera out of the cabinet. It's a product from several years ago, but it's good enough.

"We don't need the microphone for now, let's leave it like this." Kim Tae-yeon, considering Su Xia's financial situation, did not make any further requests.

"Come on, turn on the camera and practice your natural expression in front of the lens."

Under Kim Tae-yeon's guidance, Su Xia turned on the record button.

Upon seeing the camera flashing red light, Su Xia's body instinctively stiffened—this is the first reaction of an ordinary person upon being in contact with a camera.

Fear, tension, and unease.

"Let's chat," Kim Tae-yeon noticed Su Xia's nervousness. "If you become famous and make a lot of money, what would you like to do?"

Upon hearing this, Su Xia immediately calmed down.

"The first thing I did was to clear my dad's, my mom's, my brother's, and my grandparents' wish lists! My dad wants a minivan, my mom wants a Helena Rubinstein eye cream set, my brother wants an Audi A7L, my grandpa wants a fishing set, and my grandma wants a house with a yard so she can grow her own vegetable garden."

Kim Tae-yeon listened to Su Xia recount her family's wish list with great familiarity, a faint smile playing on her lips.

Although she may be sharp-tongued, she always keeps in mind the things her family members like.

"And what about you? What are you planning to buy for yourself?" Kim Tae-yeon asked with a smile.

"Me? Hehe, of course I'll buy a Panamera first! Then I'll get a big villa! And then, I'll buy all sorts of things I want!" Su Xia said with eyes full of anticipation.

"What kind of car is Pamei?" Kim Tae-yeon asked curiously.

"There's a saying about Porsche's Panamera: 'I have money, but I don't spend it; I want to buy a Panamera,'" Su Xia said with a smile.

"I remember now." Kim Tae-yeon nodded. "And what about the six horizontal and twelve vertical lines, fulfilling my first love dream? The three-pointed star emblem supporting my father's back, which had been bent for many years?"

"Yes," Su Xia nodded. "The Huo Xi isn't suitable for a young person like me. As for Mercedes, you still owe me an S680. I don't need to buy it myself. So, that leaves only the Panamera, right?"

"What about BMW?" Kim Tae-yeon laughed. "Don't you Chinese people love to say 'bba'? Where's the other 'b'?"

"Oh right, I forgot about M Power, my apologies!"

Su Xia clasped her hands together and bowed repeatedly.

He then paused, his eyes shining as he looked at Kim Tae-yeon.

"Why don't you give it to me while you're at it?"

Kim Tae-yeon: "Õ_Õ"

"You can't just blame me for this, can you?"

"When you're trying to get a good deal, you have to target one person. Since you're so rich, you're more likely to get a good deal."

"But I don't have any money right now," Kim Tae-yeon said, shrugging.

"You can keep track of your expenses," Su Xia said with a grin.

"I don't admit it. What can you do if I become a deadbeat?" Kim Tae-yeon said cheerfully.

"That's true." Su Xia frowned, lost in thought.

"How about... you tell me some of your embarrassing past? If you don't buy it for me, I'll threaten another version of you to buy it for me."

Kim Tae-yeon: "?"

"You really dare to think that way." Kim Tae-yeon looked at Su Xia with amusement, but you know what, if she really told him, given her personality, if it was just about buying a car, she would most likely choose to spend money to avoid trouble.

There's nothing I can do; she knows her own personality too well.

Even though the passage of time has changed her personality, her inherent stubbornness and tendency to compromise remain unchanged.

"Shouldn't we insure our assets?"

"Oh."

I never intended to give it to you, so why would I give you insurance?

"I'm not saying anything more." Su Xia crossed her legs, shifted her weight forward, and stared at Kim Tae-yeon with her bright eyes.

"What's the first thing you'll do when you get back?"

"Hmm..." Kim Tae-yeon hesitated for a moment, "I'm looking for you."

A question mark appeared on Su Xia's forehead as she pointed a finger at herself in confusion.

"I?"

"What do you want from me?"

"I want to make sure you're in my world. If you are, I'll thank him," Kim Tae-yeon said earnestly.

Regardless of the circumstances, it was Su Xia who took him home, so it was only natural to express my gratitude.

"Why thank him?" Su Xia's words surprised Kim Tae-yeon.

"You're taking me back; he's from another world. Isn't it reasonable to thank him?" Kim Tae-yeon said, puzzled.

"Am I him? The Su Xia from another world isn't me. Let's not even talk about me not being dead yet. Even if I were dead, this kind of inheritance wouldn't be his." Su Xia said with a pout, "If you really want to thank someone, you might as well thank my parents."

Kim Tae-yeon: "ರ_ರ..."

"He's not you, so his parents aren't your parents either."

What kind of logic is this, Su Xia?

"That's different." Su Xia waved her hand dismissively. "The other world's me isn't me, but my parents are my parents no matter which world they're in!"

Kim Tae-yeon couldn't help but facepalm.

This guy's logic is really hard for most people to understand.

"But the gratitude I give to your parents will ultimately fall on another version of you."

"That is a problem." Su Xia frowned, then seemed to have thought of something, and an excited smile appeared on her face.

"Then why don't you put him in your team and make him do the hardest work every day? How about that?"

"Not so good." Kim Tae-yeon's lips twitched. "I'm afraid if I talk to his mouth every day, I won't be able to resist giving him a beating."

"His mouth really does provoke a punch."

So you knew that, sir?

Kim Tae-yeon was speechless.

"Then you don't need to thank me. Just remember that you're my friend." Su Xia reached out and patted Kim Tae-yeon in the air.

"Who said you're buddy?"
