Peninsula: My mentor Kim Tae-yeon

Chapter 11 Gradually Accepting the Setting

"Who said we're buddies?" Kim Tae-yeon said irritably. "I'm a girl!"

"You're thirty-five already, and you're still calling yourself a girl?" Su Xia looked at Kim Tae-yeon with disdain. "Getting older is a natural process. Even if you don't look like a woman in her thirties, you still need to accept that reality, Teacher Tae-yeon!"

Kim Tae-yeon did not correct Su Xia's belief that she was thirty-five years old, since according to the current timeline, she was indeed thirty-five.

"Thank you for the compliment," Kim Tae-yeon said with a smile.

Su Xia: "?"

Looking at Kim Tae-yeon's smiling face.

Did I compliment you?

"You said I don't look like I'm in my thirties," Kim Tae-yeon said with a smile.

Actually, her current state is how she appears in her own world, and she's much older than Kim Tae-yeon in this world.

Didn't you hear the first half of what I said?

"I heard it, but I chose to ignore it."

Su Xia gave Kim Tae-yeon a thumbs up.

"You are this one."

"Thank you." Kim Tae-yeon nodded calmly.

For someone as sharp-tongued as Su Xia, all you need to do is ignore his complaints and extract the useful information.

"You've relaxed a lot after chatting for a while, haven't you?" Kim Tae-yeon said, looking at the sullen Su Xia.

"Hmm." Su Xia glanced at the camera and responded.

"Let's record one then, and then I'll teach you how to edit the video."

"You even know about this?"

"Having watched it for decades, I've learned a little bit."

"Still saying you're not Old Deng?"

"Call him teacher!"

"Hey, let's have a race!"

……

As it turns out, Kim Tae-yeon's editing skills are only slightly better than those of a beginner, just a tiny bit better.

It's roughly equivalent to the singing level of Meng Ziyi, the nightingale. It's not that I don't understand at all, but I can say that I understand everything that I know.

With no other option, the two had to search for editing tutorial videos on the spot and learn on the spot.

"It's not that difficult," Kim Tae-yeon commented after watching the video.

"Heh, all talk and no action is useless," Su Xia said with a sneer.

"I want to practice too," Kim Tae-yeon said, shrugging her shoulders. "I can't do it."

Seeing Kim Tae-yeon's feigned helplessness, Su Xia recalled that classic quote.

I cannot do it.

"Forget it, I can't count on you." Su Xia picked up the iPad and started playing tutorial videos while editing the Girls' Generation's debut stage performance from "Into the New World" that she had just downloaded.

Kim Tae-yeon stood behind Su Xia, watching him edit his own clips piece by piece, a look of nostalgia appearing in her eyes.

In the picture, Kim Tae-yeon looks soft and tender, like a fragrant and soft little cake.

Tsk.

You can't deny getting old...

The moment the thought crossed her mind, Kim Tae-yeon felt a jolt.

What happened?!

How did this guy lead me astray?

How could I think like that?

She's clearly in the prime of her life, at the peak of her beauty!

Kim Tae-yeon grew angrier the more she thought about it. Looking at the back of Su Xia's head, she raised her hand and slapped her.

As expected, the hand passed directly through the back of Su Xia's head, along with Kim Tae-yeon's anger.

hum!

Looking at her palm, Kim Tae-yeon nodded in satisfaction.

If you dare lead me astray, I'll beat you to death!

"Take it aside." Su Xia's voice drew Kim Tae-yeon's attention.

"What is this?" Kim Tae-yeon came closer and saw Su Xia put down the spare phone she used to deal with inspections in college. The phone was playing a video with musical notes.

"I've turned on auto-redirect, you can go watch videos over there," Su Xia said without looking up as she studied the video editing.

Kim Tae-yeon's eyes lit up.

"You're quite thoughtful."

"I just don't want you standing next to me and bothering me," Su Xia said with a snort.

Kim Tae-yeon smiled nonchalantly and happily ran to her spare phone to squat down and watch videos.

About half an hour later.

"Why does it look like I cut a mess?" Su Xia looked at the finished product she had created speechlessly.

It's a mess. Even a three-yuan video from a small workshop on Taobao is better than this.

"Take your time. It's not bad for a beginner's work," Kim Tae-yeon commented after taking a look.

However, the editing was really bad.

But for beginners, encouragement is the main approach.

"What do you mean 'okay'? This is just a standard defense!" Su Xia was quite dissatisfied. "Again!"

Kim Tae-yeon didn't stop him. Su Xia's sharp tongue didn't discriminate between friend and foe; he even insulted himself. There was nothing she could do about it.

Humming a little tune, Kim Tae-yeon leisurely ran to her phone.

The song playing on my phone is "EASY," the title track from LESSERAFIM's third mini-album, released on February 19th of this year. It's a pretty good song, quite catchy.

LESSERAFIM is currently in a period of absolute growth, and their momentum is quite strong among these younger groups.

Unfortunately, Coachella next month proved to be their Waterloo. Although they managed to come back stronger, the impact of Coachella was still significant.

Kim Tae-yeon shook her head. This wasn't something she should be thinking about; she was already in dire straits herself.

Speaking of which, it seems like ILLIT is about to debut?

Kim Tae-yeon thought to herself, glanced at the busy Su Xia, and made a mental note of the matter, deciding to check on it after Su Xia finished her work.

ILLIT's debut song "Magnetic" is a pretty good song. Although the data was artificially inflated when it was released, it doesn't detract from the fact that the song itself is an outstanding work.

Kim Tae-yeon was speechless when she thought of Hybe, the newly emerging representative company of K-pop.

How could someone with such a good hand play so badly?

In other words, the company's lineup was strong enough, and BTS laid a solid foundation; otherwise, given Hybe's approach, the company would have followed in YG's footsteps long ago.

However... SM isn't much better, so let's not criticize each other.

In comparison, JYP, which has always been quiet, is the most stable, but it's a bit too stingy.

Thinking about the information leaked from inside JYP Entertainment, Kim Tae-yeon felt a toothache.

How can an entertainment company be so stingy?

"Damn it!!! How did I end up with another piece of crap?!" After a short while, Su Xia wailed, looking angrily at the video she had created.

"Even my grandma can cut my hair better than I can!"

Kim Tae-yeon: "..."

Kim Tae-yeon leaned over and glanced at the video Su Xia had edited.

"Isn't it good that there's progress? Don't be so demanding," Kim Tae-yeon said cheerfully.

"No, let's try again!" Su Xia refused to believe it. Was he really a good-for-nothing?

"Hey! Don't rush, help me search for something." Kim Tae-yeon called out to Su Xia.

"Help me search for ILLIT, I need to calm down." Kim Tae-yeon looked at Su Xia with amusement. How come this guy can make her angry even when he's learning something?

However, this vicious cycle of getting angrier the more he studies, and the angrier he gets, the more he studies, does work for him in learning, though it does hurt his mood.
