Chapter 25 Good Brother and Doctor Sister

"Fire!"

Rhodes's command reached Aria and the crew, who raised their rifles, ready for a final, life-or-death struggle.

But gunshots rang out before they could pull the trigger.

"Yes, sir!"

A male voice came from behind Aliya and the others, and the pink fear monsters charging ahead were forced to stop by the impact of the bullets.

These pink fleshy spheres shuddered as if electrocuted, then giggled as they fell forward or backward, crashing heavily to the ground. Blood, composed of subspace magic, gushed from their wounds, corroding the floor beneath them into a writhing state.

Aliya turned around and saw a sight she could never forget.

It was as if it appeared out of thin air.

The once deserted entrance to the bottom stairwell was now filled with tall figures standing at the corners of the pipes, all wearing huge blue combat uniforms.

No, that's not a combat suit, that's power armor, the most sacred asset in the Imperial Armory.

But unlike the Space Marine armor that Aria knew, which bore the insignia of the chapter, these power armors were smaller and clearly lacked any trace of the Empire, such as the mark of purity bestowed upon Space Marines by the State Church.

The reflective yellow facial displays obscured the faces of these people, while four powerful power lamps for illumination in the dark were embedded in their chests. Several demons instinctively stretched out their claws in front of their eyes to block the blinding light.

Rifles, each as wide as their shoulders, were pouring fire at the fear monsters. The flames were compressed to a minimum by the muzzle limiters. Although the power of a single shot from these rifles was not great, only enough to pierce the fear monster's body, their destructive power was far less than that of bullets from gunpowder guns and thermoelectric guns.

But their rate of fire is terrifyingly high.

In just two seconds, a rifle can pierce dozens of holes in a pink Fearbeast, and then mow down the blue Fearbeasts and sulfur Fearbeasts that split off one by one.

"Don't just stand there!" Seeing Aria and the crew standing there dumbfounded, Rhodes reminded them, then took out his automatic pistol and fired several shots at the horde of ferocious demons in front of him.

Before arriving at the lower level, Rhodes had already prepared for the worst, but he never expected that so many warp demons would gather there.

Although it was just one of the lowest-ranking servant demons under Tzeentch's command, for ordinary people without weapons, a low-ranking warp demon was enough to corrupt dozens, or even hundreds, of lives.

As the pink demon turned the worker into a crystal statue, Rhode summoned the system panel in his mind.

[Switching race shop, current race: Human]

Current building: Barracks

[Marine Corps: 150 General Energy]

[Medic: 225 General Energy]

[Reaper: 175 General Energy]

[Raiders: Currently not unlocked]

The prices in the system store and in the game differ, with the latter being nearly two to three times more expensive. However, Rhode couldn't care less about such trivial matters at the moment.

The moment the first Fear Demon was split apart, the gazes of the other Fear Demons all turned to them.

Aliya and her two accompanying security crew members were focused on dealing with the splitting freak and were completely unaware of what was happening behind them.

A white light fell behind them, transforming into Marines wearing CMC-400 powered combat suits. The Marines then gathered together and formed a battle formation.

In addition to the few people behind them, Rhodes also placed several Marines in some overhead pipes and narrow intersections.

With that sound of firing, guns overhead, on the flanks, and in front all aimed at the charging demons. Gauss rifles with a maximum rate of fire of 30 rounds per second switched to full-auto mode, and a massive barrage of fire enveloped the group of demons from the warp.

"It's you, I'm going to tear you apart!" The last blue freak that split off twisted its body, trying to vent its resentment. Using the bodies of the other freaks that had not yet fallen as cover, it successfully survived the overwhelming hail of bullets and rushed to a marine who was firing alone around the corner.

The demon's claws pierced the Marine's armor, revealing the weakness of the Marine's power armor in defense.

While the CMC-400 armor's power reactor and liquid nitrogen cooling system granted these soldiers superhuman strength, the Marines' power armor was far too fragile compared to the superhuman organs of the Astartes Space Marines and the Imperial's expensive neuro-powered armor.

Let alone withstand the bombardment of anti-tank artillery, it couldn't even withstand the Empire's laser rifles and hot melt guns.

"Ugh! I need... backup!"

The blue freak's claws pierced the power armor and the marine's shoulder. Fortunately, before it could unleash its warp magic, it was shot through the core by Aria, who arrived just in time, and then kicked away.

The blue ball of flesh tumbled a few times in the air before landing on the ground and splitting into smaller sulfur freaks. However, without the bodies of other freaks to cover them, the two yellow freaks were quickly reduced to a scattered mass of subspace energy.

"No, the wound is too large; he's about to collapse."

The Imperial Navy-style training she received from childhood made Aliya instinctively check the soldier's injuries: shoulder blade, upper lung. The man in front of her was almost beyond saving; his entire right shoulder and right chest had been pierced through by the claws of the demon.

Influenced by her father, who was once a member of the Imperial Navy, Aria subconsciously wanted to mourn for the unfamiliar soldier in front of her. Regardless of who he was or whether he was a subordinate of a merchant ronin, his act of sacrificing himself for their heroic fight was worthy of respect.

"He's not dead yet." Although it ruined the atmosphere, Rod still reminded him.

"But his injuries are really..."

"Do we need to triage the wounded?"

A woman in white power armor rushed over, her left hand holding a shield and her right wrist wearing a dual-hole laser device.

Upon seeing the Marine on the ground, the woman did not hesitate at all. Medical nano-transmission anesthetic and a human chemotherapist were ejected from the inside of her left shield and injected into the Marine's body. Meanwhile, the laser device in her right hand fired a green cold laser and began to precisely treat the Marine's wound.

With the therapeutic fluid produced by the body's chemical regulator and the operation of the laser scalpel, the Marine's wound healed rapidly. In just a few dozen seconds, the wound that was originally life-threatening was completely healed.

As the final nanomachine beam repaired the damage to the Marine's CMC-400 power armor, the medic hurriedly rushed to the other wounded Marines on the lower levels.

Seeing Aliya's shocked expression, Rhodes nodded smugly. After all, who wouldn't like to have a gentle and beautiful medic sister for their Marines when playing StarCraft 2?

But soon, his steward turned around and smiled at him:

"Honorable Lord Captain, could you please tell me where these personnel and their equipment came from?"
