Chapter 39 Hunting in the Rain

At least twenty Dementors were driven into the Forbidden Forest. They flew around in agony, rushing into the woods, only feeling that they were far away from the influence of the Patronus Charm. At this moment, a white werewolf led dozens of Thestrals and more than ten hippogriffs out from all sides of the Forbidden Forest, roaring and driving the Dementors deeper into the forest.

Animals' emotions are chaotic and far less appealing and easier to control than those of humans. Although Dementors are not afraid of these animals, they are afraid of being blocked by them and being overtaken by the "fierce and menacing" wizards behind them.

As the Dementors fled, they suddenly sensed a delicious aroma ahead. In a small clearing in the Forbidden Forest, they built a small wooden hut. The hut was very simple, almost like a pavilion, but rainwater couldn't get in.

Inside the wooden cabin, a large pot was set up, simmering and emitting a fragrant hot pot. A young man was happily cooking vegetables, seemingly finding great satisfaction and pleasure in the food. This was something Bai Lin had been pondering: what made him happiest? After much thought, he concluded that the most relaxing and enjoyable time was during military training, when he ate hot pot and sang songs with his classmates.

Bai Lin held a bowl in one hand and used his homemade chopsticks to pick up food with the other. To the Dementors, he looked like an absolute delicacy, which was just enough to make up for the damage he had just suffered from the Guardian Curse.

More than twenty Dementors flew around the hut, getting closer step by step, but Bai Lin pretended not to see them, humming a song and eating hotpot to himself.

Finally, one of the Dementors lowered its hood, revealing its dark, indistinct, twisted, and terrifying face. The black holes in its face emitted eerie roars. The other Dementors, not to be outdone, also lowered their hoods and roared as they charged toward the hut. They didn't care about the Ministry of Magic's requirements; all they knew was that they had just been harmed by the wizard, and now their meal was right in front of them.

Just as the Dementors, poised to tear Bai Lin apart, nearly reached the front of the hut, Bai Lin threw down his bowl and chopsticks and roared, "Now! Patronus!"

With 15 (+50) points of magic power and the magical amplification effect of the ring, Bai Lin's Guardian Spell was far superior to the minor skirmishes on the train.

It was as if a sun had been ignited inside the hut. A giant golden owl with a wingspan of two or three meters burst the hut into pieces and instantly rose from Bai Lin's hand. This was the complete form of his guardian deity - the Divine Owl.

Golden light poured into the Dementors' open "mouths" as if it were free. The Dementors were like people who couldn't swim who had a mouthful of water in their lungs. They flailed their pale, rotting arms in agony. With a flap of its wings, the Owl of the Gods knocked several Dementors to the ground.

Just then, a horn sounded from the woods, and dozens of figures rushed out. They had human upper bodies but horse lower bodies; it was Bain and Ferenze leading their centaur tribe.

Centaurs are not without magical talent; on the contrary, their talent and skill in healing spells and divination far surpass that of ordinary wizards. Their healing spells do not require wands, but rather utilize natural energy in a way that is closer to that of druids.

"Use Healing Touch and Rejuvenation on these monsters!" Ferenze shouted.

The centaurs, with bows and arrows slung over their backs, quickly surrounded the Dementor that was rolling around on the ground, each casting healing spells on its target.

Suddenly, these Dementors, who were usually awe-inspiring and feared by all, became like wild boars caught in a trap, and were now easy targets for the centaurs.

The centaur cast a spell with both hands, his fingers glowing with a bluish-green energy full of nature and life. For ordinary people, this energy is a precious power that heals wounds, stimulates cell activity, and can even repair organs. But at this moment, it was like armor-piercing bullets piercing through the Dementors' robes, and their seemingly real yet illusory bodies were also dissolved.

Some Dementors tried to escape, but Catherine led her team in from outside the woods. Yukikaze and the animals then flanked them from the other side, stopping the fleeing Dementors.

Catherine cast the Holy Light Healing spell, which she had learned at the Busbaron Magic School, at a Dementor that was fleeing towards her. The energy of the healing spell exploded in front of the Dementor like a hand grenade, almost blowing it away and creating a hole the size of a bowl. The Dementor was severely injured.

"Open the seal!" Bai Lin took out the ancient book of summoning illustrations and aimed it at the Dementor. At this moment, the Owl of the Gods had not yet disappeared. Its huge body flew to the side of the Dementor, and its long golden beak pecked at the Dementor, grabbing the Dementor's robe in one bite. The Dementor immediately let out an extremely terrified scream, and then disappeared into the air as if it had been burned, sealed inside the illustration.

The Archon Owl relentlessly subdued Dementors one after another, like a burly man participating in a hamburger-eating contest, while Bai Lin only needed to easily raise the encyclopedia and activate the seal, making it a truly effortless and enjoyable experience.

The centaurs and the wizards of the action team had never seen anything like this before. Just the day before, they thought the Dementors were the most evil and troublesome monsters in the world, but today they saw the Dementors turn into a bowl of spaghetti and be "eaten" by the guardian of the white scales one by one. In less than five minutes, all twenty-odd Dementors were gone.

After letting out a satisfied cry of joy, the Elephant Owl vanished into the air. Bai Lin glanced at the clue in the encyclopedia:

[Successfully sealed 23 Dementors, gaining 2300 Hogwarts Contribution Points. Obtained Summon: Shadowfiend (Level 6)]

He's struck gold! Bai Lin felt like he'd won the lottery. He'd worked himself to the bone from June to November and only earned a little over a thousand points. This time, he made 2300 in just one day and even got a new summon skill. It was all worth the few days he spent preparing and setting up, using every resource he could muster.

"I've never seen such a powerful guardian spirit!" Lauter exclaimed in amazement.

Bai Lin chuckled, wiping the rain from his face, and said, "As everyone knows, I've acquired some talent through years of research..."

Blake rolled his eyes again, not believing his nonsense at all.

Bain and Ferenze stepped forward. They didn't want to talk to the human wizard any longer, but simply said goodbye to Bai Lin. Bai Lin hugged Ferenze gratefully and patted his arm. Ferenze bowed gracefully to Bai Lin in farewell.

Snowwind, along with Thestrals and Hippogriffs, came over, looking like they were showing off their treasures and asking for praise. Harry, still wearing his red team robes, went up and hugged Snowwind.

Bai Lin glanced at Harry, appearing remarkably clear-headed, and said, "Although I'm Hufflepuff's teacher, I still feel it's necessary to remind you that your Quidditch match isn't over yet!"
