Searching for someone in northern Myanmar, and you call that earning tuition fees?

Chapter 158 Don't panic, I'm just a college student who knows carpentry.

Wang Dachui, the young man with the messy hair, was the first to react.

He pushed up his thick-rimmed glasses, his eyes darting around rapidly.

"Got it!"

Wang Dachui slapped his thigh, his eyes gleaming, his voice trembling.

"That's how it's portrayed in spy movies! The more ordinary the identity, the more exaggerated the background! He says he's a student, so his real identity is at least the chief instructor of a military region! He might even be that legendary, non-existent 'Sector Seven' ace!"

Upon hearing this, the young engineers around were first taken aback, then exchanged a knowing glance, and their faces gradually lit up with fervor.

That's it!

That explains it!

Why would a college student dare to venture into a war zone alone? Why did he carry... those strange items with him?

Because it's a disguise! It's top-notch tactical deception!

"Comrade Special Envoy! Please give instructions!"

Wang Dachui snapped to attention, his back ramrod straight, almost ready to give a military salute.

Su Ming looked at the group of people, his lips twitched, and he felt a little like finding a wrench and knocking them all on the head.

Have these researchers maxed out their imaginations? Have they poured all their intelligence into their professional skills, leaving absolutely no common sense?

"No need for instructions." Su Ming sighed, stuffing the remaining half pack of sanitary napkins back into his bag. "Also, don't call me special envoy, call me Su Ming, or Su classmate."

"Yes, Su!" Wang Dachui responded loudly, his eyes resolute.

Su Ming was too lazy to explain. Talking to smart people is effortless; talking to those who think they're smart is exhausting.

Dr. Chen pushed aside Wang Dachui's large face and walked up to Su Ming. Although the old man was also shocked, he was, after all, older and more composed.

"Young comrade, I don't care what organization you're from, or whether you're here part-time or to save the world." Dr. Chen pointed outside. "The current situation is that the bridge is broken, and the mercenaries outside could attack at any moment. How are we going to get out? This is a death trap."

Su Ming didn't answer. He looked around, his gaze sweeping over the scrap steel in the corner and several broken-down mining trucks, before finally settling on Wang Dachui.

"You, come here."

Wang Dachui jolted awake, straightened his back again, and roared, "Present! Please give your orders, Commander!"

Su Ming's ears hurt from his yelling, so he rubbed his earlobes.

"Speak normally." Su Ming pointed at the people in the warehouse. "Take a headcount. How many are still able to move? How many are injured? Take a headcount of supplies. How much food, water, and medicine are left? Give me an accurate number. Also, can you fix cars?"

"Report! I'm a mechanical engineer, car repair is a basic skill for me!" Wang Dachui said proudly. "As long as I have the parts, I can even fix half of a Gundam for you."

"Okay, go and take the engines off those trucks. No matter what method you use, I need them to work."

After Su Ming finished speaking, he turned and walked to a pile of toolboxes deep in the warehouse. He picked and chose, and took out a long-handled fire axe and a handsaw.

He walked to the broken window and pointed with his saw at the murky Mara River outside the warehouse.

"If the land route is blocked, we'll take the water route."

These words silenced the entire room once again.

Wang Dachui's hand trembled as he was taking notes, and the pen tip pierced the paper with a "snap".

waterway?

That river was teeming with crocodiles and piranhas, and the current was so strong it could capsize small boats, and they didn't even have a lifebuoy!

"Comrade Special Envoy!" Wang Dachui stepped forward, his expression excited and his face flushed. "You mean... to launch Operation Jiaolong? Will headquarters airdrop amphibious assault ships to us?! Or submarines?! My God, I can't believe I'm witnessing an evacuation operation of this scale!"

Su Ming looked at him as if he were an idiot.

"Have you been watching too many sci-fi movies?"

Su Ming slung the axe over his shoulder, his tone surprisingly calm: "No assault ships, no submarines, and no Ultraman. This place doesn't even have a decent dock; airdropping anything here would just feed the fish."

"Then..." Wang Dachui was dumbfounded, "How are we going to get there by water? Swim?"

"Swimming over there is like delivering takeout to the crocodiles." Su Ming pointed to the junkyard behind the mine, filled with abandoned equipment. "There's a hull for a ore-carrying barge over there. I've seen it; it's badly rusted, but the keel isn't broken."

"What is the special envoy up to?" an engineer wearing glasses asked Wang Dachui in a low voice, his tone full of suspicion. "That base has been rotting in the mud for years, and trees have even grown on it."

"Don't ask. The answer is that our mortal wisdom can't comprehend it." Wang Dachui, though equally bewildered, remained stubborn. Clutching his foot, which he'd injured in his excitement, he limped after them, becoming Su Ming's number one fanboy. "The commander must have his reasons!"

A group of top engineers looked at each other in bewilderment, and finally, led by Dr. Chen, they had no choice but to follow him out.

Miscellaneous storage area.

A rusty, overgrown iron hull lay half-buried in the ground, looking like a giant scrap metal coffin.

"Shipbuilding?" Dr. Chen adjusted his glasses, his voice trembling slightly. "Here? With this pile of junk? Young comrade, this is an impossible task. It doesn't conform to fluid mechanics, nor to materials science..."

Su Ming did not explain.

He walked to a discarded railway sleeper, swung his axe, and with a "crack," sawdust flew everywhere. His movements were clean, efficient, and powerful.

"Don't panic." Su Ming stuck the axe into the wood, wiped his sweat, and grinned at the crowd who were beginning to doubt their existence.

"I'm just a college student who knows a little carpentry. But I promise you, as long as you follow my instructions, I can take you home to take the CET-6 exam... no, home."
