Noxus Glory

Chapter 71 The Revival of the Bear Spirit: The War Horn

Chapter 71 The Revival of the Bear Spirit: The War Horn

As the dawn breaks, the veil of darkness is lifted from the dead of winter.

The crimson glow of the sunset cast a soft radiance across the sky at the cusp of dawn and dusk, draping the falling snowflakes in a thin cloak.

Udir walked along the Winterthorn Mountain Road, where the frozen river surface was already stained red with blood, frozen in the cold of the night.

His footsteps left bloody marks on the snow-white ground.

In the distance, the still-burning battlefield was shrouded in a curtain of thick black smoke, obscuring the glimmer of dawn.

But he could still see figures moving around inside; they were the blood warriors of the Winter's Claw, cleaning up the battlefield, rescuing survivors, and collecting loot.

Occasionally, one might see Noxian soldiers' corpses being stabbed a few more times, their bodies left to bleed.

Nearby were several bear-men, their skin stained brown with blood and their hair matted together with grime, looking as if they were searching for food.

The bear-men's subsequent actions then informed Udir.

They were looking for food.

According to the alliance between the Winter's Claw tribe and the Undying Thunder Volibear.

Those who die in the war become food and sacrifices for the bear people.

The bear-men are dismembering the corpses of Noxian soldiers, tearing flesh apart with battle axes and claws, and stuffing the remains into their mouths.

Perhaps he noticed Udyr's gaze.

They turned their beast-like faces to look at Udyr in the distance, provocatively plunging their claws into the body of another Winter's Claw warrior before letting out a roar.

Instantly, the nearby blood warriors rapidly closed in.

They saw their companion's body being mutilated and glared angrily at the bear-men.

However, they were unable to act due to the orders of their mother, Sejuani.

This is a scene that Udyr witnessed, and it's a scene that can be seen everywhere on the battlefield at this moment.

Last night's battle saw the bearmen break through the Noxian infantry's defenses, with Sejuani's forces close behind, but they underestimated the bearmen's ferocity.

Even now, Udyr can still feel the undeniable, bone-splitting bear spirit quietly creeping into the minds of every living being around him.

The power belonging to the bear people is growing, and the sound of thunder is gathering in the sky.

Udyr circled the mountain path and arrived at the camp that the Winter's Claw tribe had built specifically for the bear-men. On a towering hill, he saw a massive bear-like creature—

It's that biggest bear spirit monster!

Within sight, a bear-like monster, resembling a mountain, stood alone in the center of the camp, arranging the spikes from the corpses into some unknown pattern.

Then, black branches and roots sprouted from the scattered corpses around the monster, like worms emerging from the ground, and lightning could be seen intermittently in their presence.

There is also an enormous bear spirit face.

"Voliber!" Udyr's heart sank.

He saw that in the midst of the thunder, Volibear's flesh and fur became lifelike, and its muscles seemed to have become thicker and heavier than before.

Volibear, sensing Udyr's approach, is recovering.

Beneath the thunderous roar, more than a dozen deep purple eyes emerged from the darkness, each as dark and cold as a spider's eye, carrying a cruel glint.

Perhaps he sensed foreign magic in this Winter's Claw shaman, and now he believes he has passed the test.

For some reason, Udyr knew that this time it was Volibear speaking to him alone.

"I will be reborn, and you cannot stop me, human child." Volibear's voice resounded directly within Udyr's consciousness.

Udyr endured the chaotic and unpredictable state of his mind and slowly removed his cloak.

After preparing through evening meditation, he walked through his different forms one by one: the immortal eagle, the agile lynx, the resolute wild boar, and more than a dozen other beast spirits.

He stopped when he transformed into the form of a bear spirit, resisting the thunderous power in his consciousness and perfectly controlling his body.

"You can't take her away." Udyr opened his eyes wide and spoke calmly to the bear spirit before him, who was as imposing as a mountain.

A silent atmosphere prevailed.

The enormous bear spirit monster stared intently at Udyr before turning back to its bloody work.

But the sky, which was filled with the glow of dawn, began to gradually darken.

Thunder rumbled and lightning flashed across the sky!

A deep purple storm gathered, and amidst flashes of lightning and thunder, dark clouds appeared out of nowhere, as if to shroud everything in their shadow.

The winter thorn mountain road, with the frozen river on the opposite bank.

The trenches that stretch towards the mountains are covered with snow.

One after another, imposing military buildings rose from the ground, transforming the snow-white mountains into a dark jungle.

High atop the watchtower, Darius, clad in sturdy armor, stood with his red cloak billowing in the biting wind.

He gazed at the battlefield, littered with corpses and stained with blood, his expression grim.

"Bear Spirit!" he growled.

"Has Sejuani gone mad? The gods of the Old Path devour all life, making everyone their slave!"

Last night's clash was merely an appetizer in this war.

But the sudden appearance of the bear-men disrupted the balance maintained by both sides.

Faced with the reckless charge of the bearmen, the Noxian infantry regiments were utterly routed, leaving behind a trail of corpses before returning to their camp.

"Voliber, the Undying Thunder, is returning!"

Behind Darius, a middle-aged mage dressed in a black robe spoke up.

"Our soldiers are becoming sacrifices!"

Hearing the fear in the middle-aged mage's words, Darius suppressed his anger.

Before launching the First Freljord War, the Empire began gathering information on tribes such as the Winterclaw, which also included many secret rumors.

Volibear the Undying Thunder, is one of them!

He existed long before mortals walked the frozen tundra of Freljord.

This land was created by him and his fellow gods, and it was something he was willing to risk his life to protect.

Now, he has long harbored resentment towards human civilization and the weakness that comes with it, and he is returning to fight for old customs and traditions.

"Sacrifice? Who will be the sacrifice in this war is still unknown!" Darius said with a ferocious expression.

Suddenly.

The sky above the distant mountains began to darken.

A deafening clap of thunder resounded, and lightning ripped across the sky!

A deep purple storm gathered, and amidst flashes of lightning and thunder, dark clouds appeared out of nowhere, like a dark tide, slowly spreading.

"Has it started?"

Darius noticed the unusual changes in the Winter's Claw tribe and immediately realized that the final battle was about to begin.

"It seems they did a good job."

Taking in the gathering storm before him, he thought of the many scouts he had sent to Freljord before the war began, and instantly connected the two.

It seems that Sejuani is under even more pressure than he is.

Darius turned around and looked at the Noxian soldiers in full armor walking around the camp below the towering watchtower.

"Gentlemen, the time has come for us to dedicate ourselves to the Empire."

Darius's dark eyes swept across the many chapter leaders before him, and he sensed a burning aura emanating from them.

"For Noxus!"

The deep roar, like the howl of a black wolf, was fierce and violent, yet calm and composed, and it spread to the many battle leaders behind him.

It was as if the already burning desire for war within the Noxian people had been awakened.

"For Noxus!"

"For Noxus!"

The numerous battle leaders gathered on the watchtower looked at the tall figure in front of them, draped in a red cloak, and roared with fanatical expressions.

They then quickly left, returning to their own battle group to prepare for the upcoming decisive battle.
