Chapter 72 The Brutal Fragment Rune Weaver

Chapter 72 The Brutal Fragment Rune Weaver

In the center of the camp, in front of a deep red felt tent.

Darius glanced at Captain Faron beside him and said in a deep voice, "Ben, no one is allowed to approach here without my order."

Upon hearing this, Captain Farong, clad in heavy armor, stopped and glanced at the middle-aged mage in a black robe before slowly nodding.

"As you command!"

Darius then led the middle-aged mage beside him into his felt tent.

The deep red felt tent in front of us is quite large, about half the size of a football field, and it was built at Dreier's special request.

Once inside, the environment and decor of the tent are different from those of a normal felt tent.

The first thing you see is a simple rest area, with a heavy black desk near the edge of the tent, piled high with documents and letters.

In front of the black desk was a large conference table with a pale white sand table on it.

Upon closer inspection, it is indeed the terrain of the Winterthorn Mountains.

Next to this lounge is a specially constructed steel cubicle.

This is why felt tents take up so much space.

Pushing open the steel door, a red glow enveloped Darius's body, then, as if imbued with sentience, extended to the black-robed mage.

"General!"

Inside the steel compartment, a dashing woman clad in steel armor and sporting long black hair greeted Darius respectfully.

A rich green light shimmered in her palm, suppressing the red glow within the compartment that resembled boiling magma.

"Shards of Tyranny?"

The black-robed mage, who had remained silent and followed Darius, cried out in horror when he saw the shattered rune at the center of the red glow.

[Brutal Fragments]!

One of the runes that emerged after the world rune "Tyranny" shattered.

During the Rune Wars a thousand years ago, apart from a small number of World Runes that were preserved intact.

The vast majority of the other world runes were destroyed in the endless wars, turning into numerous fragments and lost in various regions of Valoran.

The black-robed mage never expected to find the [Shard of Tyranny] here, especially in the hands of his own general, Darius.

"No, that's not right." The black-robed mage seemed to have thought of something, his eyes flashing.

The [Shard of Tyranny] before us should be under the control of the Imperial Military, and Darius, as an Imperial General, is using it in this war.

At the same time, the black-robed mage also recognized the extraordinary profession of the dashing woman before him—

Runeweaver!

It was because of her existence that the violent fragments before them could exist quietly, coexisting with the crimson, ferocious armor.

Within the Noxian Empire, research on runes had already begun long ago.

Runeweavers are extraordinary beings born from this.

They are born with the ability to access runes and possess an unimaginable understanding of them.

Darius glanced at the rune weaver in front of him, walked to the [Shard of Tyranny], and stared at the hideous armor that had merged with the broken runes.

"Unrivaled combat power!"

He wanted to reach out and touch the menacing armor, but then he remembered something and walked to the weapon stand on the other side.

A massive, exceptionally sharp black axe was placed on top.

Upon closer inspection, the black giant axe is about 1.6 meters long, double-edged, and has a black body, making it look extremely heavy.

The Black Cutter!

This giant axe is a terrifying runic weapon that only the Hand of Noxus can wield.

Moreover, no one knows why it doesn't corrupt its previous owners.

However, now, the black-robed mage looked at Darius, then at the rune weaver, and realized that the Empire had never given up on exploring and applying runes.

"Put on my armor!" Darius said in a deep voice.

"General, the rune power of the [Shard of Tyranny] is very unstable. I do not recommend using it in this war." The rune weaver frowned, looked at Darius in front of him, and advised softly.

"Put armor on me!" Darius said again in a deep voice, his back to the rune weaver.

This time, both the black-robed mage and the rune weaver heard Darius's unwavering belief.

The rune weaver lowered his gaze, looking at the menacing armor before him, and sighed softly.

Then, her gaze fell on the black-robed mage not far away, and she said in a deep voice, "I need your help."

"I?"

The black-robed mage exclaimed in surprise, looking at the gleaming [Shard of Tyranny] with a hesitant expression.

He could sense the terrifying power contained within the [Shard of Tyranny] simply from the pervasive red glow.

If he makes any mistake, he could be executed right here.

"Yes, while I was putting the armor on the general, I couldn't be distracted by dealing with the overflowing energy of the [Shards of Tyranny]." The rune weaver stared at the crimson armor before him and slowly extended his fair hand.

"I need you to use dark magic later to suppress the overflowing energy."

The black-robed mage's expression changed drastically. He was about to speak, but when he saw Darius's dark gaze, he had no choice but to step forward.

"No wonder they let me in," the black-robed mage thought to himself, his expression gloomy.

He walked behind the rune weaver and carefully released dark magic power, which wrapped around his arm and formed a pair of black gloves with sleeves.

As he watched the rune weaver dress Darius in armor, he kept an eye on the flickering red glow.

Fortunately, things went smoothly.

Darius donned a menacing crimson armor, and streaks of red light emanated from the [Shard of Tyranny], extending to his feet, hands, and head, rippling outwards.

It gradually calmed down and settled on the surface of the armor after touching the Black Cutter that Darius was holding tightly in his hand.

However, the corrosive effects of the [Shards of Tyranny] ultimately affected Darius.

Darius, who was as steadfast as a rock and had never shown any weakness, couldn't help but let out a low growl amidst the boundless pain brought on by the [Shard of Tyranny].

The suppressed roar, a low growl like a wolf's howl, echoed throughout the sealed room.

The black-robed mage and the rune weaver suddenly tensed up.

If anything were to happen to Darius, they couldn't imagine what would happen to the Noxian Empire.

But one thing is certain: they will both face accountability, and possibly even death.

At the same time, Captain Farong, who was waiting outside, seemed to have heard something.

But remembering Darius's command, he suppressed his anxiety and stood still like a statue.

After a short while, like drinking a cup of tea.

Captain Farong heard light footsteps behind him and turned around.

He saw Darius, clad in hideous armor and wielding the Black Cutter, lifting the curtain.

Behind them were a black-robed mage and a strikingly beautiful, unfamiliar woman.

He didn't ask any more questions, remained silent, and followed Darius back to the watchtower in the camp.

Before the frozen river, within a network of trenches, Noxian soldiers, clad in armor and wielding blades, stood ready, their eyes fixed on the Winter's Claw camp ahead, showing no fear.

Darius took a step forward, his expression cold, straightened his body, raised his right hand high, and swung it down heavily like a hammer, creating a gust of wind.

Thump! Thump! Thump! Thump! Thump! Thump! Thump!

In an instant.

The high-pitched and intense drumbeats, like a sudden downpour, suppressed the swirling snow and echoed over the Noxian army.

It sounded like the war song of the ancient Noxians, awakening the blood in every Noxian and igniting their thirst for war.

He's the drummer!

To the beat of their drums, the Noxian chapters expanded the Empire's influence step by step. They were unstoppable, and indeed, no enemy could stop the Empire's conquest.

Now, they are about to face the challenge of Winter's Claw once again!

Note: The Noxian Empire has always maintained research on runes, whether testing them with black magic and blood magic or applying them to weapons and armor. Over a long period of time, they have achieved considerable results.
