Hogwarts' Golden Glory

Chapter 47 Subduing the Mischievous Ghost

In the quiet corridors of Hogwarts, the tiny Peeves was jumping around, making a frantic noise!

The piercing scream seemed to rip the ceiling off the corridor.

It abruptly woke up the sleeping ghosts in the surrounding portraits!

"Quiet down, you damn thing!"

The ghost, unable to bear it any longer, began to curse angrily.

But Pipi Ghost didn't care at all, and continued to do as he pleased, grinning widely.

With a carefree smile on his face, he charged headlong toward Kane's location.

Seeing this, Kane quickly drew his wand without hesitation.

As expected, the power of the wand increased exponentially after the seal was broken.

Kane felt that he could remain undefeated even against a great wizard like Snape!

It's even possible to win because of the opponent's underestimation.

"Stop the revelry!"

Kane calmly rotated his wrist clockwise while softly chanting the incantation.

A pale blue light flashed at the tip of the wand.

Seeing this, Mischievous Ghost's smile grew even wider!

Hehe, he's seen plenty of these little wizards' tricks; they can't do him any harm at all!

So instead of stopping, he sped up and fearlessly charged headlong into Kane's curse.

"Haha, it didn't work, did it?"

The moment the spell struck its target, Peeves, completely unresponsive, mocked Kane mercilessly.

So he continued to pounce on Kane, wanting to thoroughly humiliate him!

After flying for a while, he was surprised to find that the distance between him and Kane had not only not decreased, but had actually increased.

"What the hell?"

The little devil's eyes widened, and he cried out in terror.

Having roamed Hogwarts for many years, he had never encountered such a situation before.

He stopped in a panic, but then he felt as if his body was filled with lead, becoming incredibly heavy.

Every movement became slow and difficult, as if sinking into a thick swamp.

"You, you..."

He raised his finger and pointed in Kane's direction, trying to struggle.

However, his entire body seemed to be wrapped in a thin film, and his magic was suppressed to the minimum.

In the end, he couldn't even speak, and his body was as if it had been frozen in place, unable to move.

Hermione stared at Kane with wide eyes, her gaze filled with admiration.

"Kane, how did you do that?"

She continued, glancing at Peeves and Kane's wand.

"I've seen it before; many spells don't work on him!"

Kane's lips curled into a confident smile.

Of course, this was a spell from his family's ancient texts, specifically used to deal with ghosts.

Meow~~~

Just then, a long meow broke the brief silence.

"It's Lady Lorris!" Hermione's expression tightened. She glanced at Kane worriedly, then looked in the direction from which the shout came. "That's Filch's cat. If she's there, then Filch must be nearby too."

Hermione knew that being caught by Filch while out at night would result in points being deducted from the House, and the thought filled her with anxiety.

"Don't be afraid. If we explain things clearly, I believe Mr. Filch won't make things difficult for us," Kane reassured Hermione.

He believed that Mr. Filch must be a reasonable person.

If things really escalate to an unbearable point, we can simply ask the principal to explain the reason for their nighttime outing.

Soon, heavy footsteps approached from afar, and a faint light flickered in the darkness, slowly drawing near.

"I'd like to see which little wizard is out here at night, wandering around instead of sleeping!" Filch's hoarse and angry voice echoed down the corridor.

"I'm going to catch you and whip you!"

Hermione's heart skipped a beat when she heard this, and she became even more worried.

Kane remained calm; if the other party really did that, then his role as a doorman would be over.

After all, school board members have the right to interfere with the appointment of school employees!

A moment later, Filch appeared carrying a dim oil lamp.

He was thin and bony, like a vampire who hadn't eaten in a long time, his skin taut against his bones, and his deep-set eyes revealing cunning and suspicion.

When his gaze fell on Kane, a hint of disappointment flashed in his eyes, as if he had originally expected to catch an even bigger "rebel".

Wanting to keep going, I realized I'd kicked something.

Then, his gaze shifted to the ground, he frowned slightly, tentatively kicked it with his foot, and then bent down to bring the oil lamp closer.

You won't be surprised if you don't look!

Lying on the ground was none other than Mischievous Pikachu!

If we're talking about who hates Peeves the most at Hogwarts, Filch is second to none.

His duty is to uphold school rules and regulations and maintain campus order.

However, Pipi Ghost's frequent rule violations were undoubtedly a provocation against him.

Whenever Filch finishes his hard work cleaning the hallway, Peeves always runs out and overturns the trash cans, scattering garbage all over the floor.

Filch's efforts were in vain.

Moreover, the other party seems to really enjoy provoking Filch!

He even hid Filch's beloved broom while he wasn't looking, just so he could see him frantically searching for it.

......

In short, the number of mischief Pippi got up to is countless.

But every time he tried to catch this despicable guy, he was always helpless.

After all, he's a Squib who can't use magic. Even those little wizards can't handle Peeves, let alone him.

Although he had asked Dumbledore for help many times, Peeves would only behave himself when the headmaster was around.

Now, seeing his old enemy lying sprawled on the ground, Filch couldn't help but smile slightly, almost bursting out laughing.

"Mr. Kane, did you do this?"

Filch pointed to Peeves on the ground, using a rare polite tone, his eyes filled with surprise and curiosity.

"Yes, he broke the school rules, so I helped you subdue him," Kane said calmly.

"Haha, Mr. Kane, how did you do that? Can you teach me?"

Filch picked up Peeves and looked at Kane with longing in his eyes, as if he had found a lifeline.

"It's a simple spell," Kane said.

Upon hearing this, the longing in Filch's eyes vanished instantly, as if a bucket of cold water had been poured over his head. He pursed his lips, looking dejected.

"Alright then, I apologize for my intrusion, Mr. Kane."

Then he picked up the little devil and prepared to leave.

"Mr. Filch, aren't you going to punish us?" Hermione timidly poked her head out and asked Filch, who was about to leave, in a low voice.

"The principal has already said that it's not a violation of school rules for him to keep you for extra lessons so late."

Filch said in a muffled voice, a hint of regret in his tone, as if he was somewhat unwilling to miss the opportunity to punish the students.

"Mr. Filch, if you need help subduing Peeves, I can help."

Before leaving, Kane spoke sincerely to Filch.

"No, I don't need it." Filch waved his hand; he didn't need these little wizards with magic to help him.

He considered it an insult to him.

Hermione and Kane then decided to continue their journey back, and soon it was time to part ways.

After all, their lounges are in different places.

"Kane, see you tomorrow!"

See you tomorrow, Hermione!

But before they could part ways, they heard a shout from behind.

"Kane, Hermione, what are you doing here! Filch is coming!"
