Hogwarts' Golden Glory
Chapter 46 Recognizing the Master?
Kane was still reeling from the shock of the wand being unsealed.
Before he could react, he saw the other person's gaze suddenly sharpen, a resolute glint flashing in their eyes.
In an instant, the Rubik's Cube placed to the side began to buzz, and its body emitted a faint blue light.
It, which was originally still, slowly detached from the ground and floated in the air.
Immediately afterwards, an irresistible force enveloped Kane and pulled him upwards.
In the blink of an eye, Kane was sucked into the light hole created by the Rubik's Cube, surrounded by strange light.
Light and shadow shifted rapidly, and the whistling wind filled my ears, as if I had traveled through a time tunnel.
A moment later, his vision cleared, and Kane felt his feet firmly planted on solid ground, the familiar atmosphere washing over him.
"Kane!"
Hermione's anxious and excited cry rang out instantly.
The shout, like a crisp bell, snapped Professor Old, who was deep in thought with strange markings painted on his face, out of his reverie.
He strode over quickly.
He grabbed Kane and the moment his hand touched Kane's body, he felt a chill emanating from him.
He quickly turned around, grabbed a sweater, and hurriedly draped it over Kane's shoulders, muttering, "Where have you been? We were so worried!"
"Where is the principal?"
Kane looked around and noticed that Dumbledore was the only one of the three who had been there. He asked curiously.
"You just disappeared all of a sudden. The headmaster figured you were no longer at school, so he immediately set off to look for you elsewhere," Hermione explained quickly, then looked at Professor Old and added.
"Professor Old was so anxious because you suddenly disappeared that he used ancient magic to find your location, which is why he put these on his face."
At this moment, Professor Old was frantically wiping the mysterious mark off his face.
He muttered to himself, "Dragon blood is gone, and mermaid tears are all used up... Hey, at least it wasn't my own precious materials that were damaged."
He looked up and saw Hermione staring at him with a slightly eerie smile on her face.
"Kid, have you mastered that magic?"
After wiping his face, Professor Old stared intently at Kane with wide eyes, his gaze full of eager inquiry.
Kane's lips curled into a confident smile as he said, "Of course! The bag's no problem!"
As he spoke, he looked as if he had drunk a compound drug.
In an instant, he transformed into Professor Older before him, his appearance and demeanor practically identical to those of a model.
Hermione was so surprised that she immediately covered her mouth, her eyes wide as saucers.
She was truly taken aback by this sudden turn of events.
To my utter astonishment, two identical Professor Alders appeared right before my eyes. This scene was beyond imagination; it truly was magic!
"Are you alright?" Just then, Dumbledore appeared as if by magic, his voice full of concern.
A warm feeling welled up in Kane's heart.
Although this legendary wizard often concealed some key information from even his closest friends and family for various reasons.
But at this moment, his care for his students was so genuine and unreserved.
"It's alright, Professor. This Rubik's Cube just teleported me to another place," Kane said.
"Kid, how did you get back?" Professor Old asked impatiently.
His eagerness made it seem as if he was about to coax the answer out of Kane's mouth at any moment.
After all, he had never encountered anything so bizarre before.
"I came back through this Rubik's Cube." Kane pointed to the Rubik's Cube lying quietly on the ground.
Upon hearing this, Professor Olde could no longer contain his curiosity and eagerness.
He strode forward and reached out to claim the Rubik's Cube for himself.
But the moment his hand touched the Rubik's Cube, a searing, burning sensation, like the bite of a venomous snake, assaulted him.
"Tear~" A faint but chilling sound rang out.
Immediately afterwards, a faint aroma of roasting meat filled the air.
The commotion attracted the attention of several people.
Dumbledore also looked over, drew his Elder Wand, and aimed it at the Rubik's Cube.
Then a flash of light emanated from the tip of the wand.
However, what happened next stunned everyone.
In complete silence, the Rubik's Cube on the ground seemed completely unaffected by the powerful magic, remaining still and motionless.
Even the usually composed Dumbledore frowned at this moment.
His eyes were filled with doubt and seriousness. He turned to Professor Older and asked in a low voice, "Older, what's going on?"
Professor Old grimaced in pain and hurriedly bandaged his hand.
He couldn't help but mutter under his breath, "How should I know? If I knew, would I have been stupid enough to get hurt by it?"
Kane was also filled with doubts, and he subconsciously looked at his hands.
Recalling my experience, I vaguely felt that there seemed to be some special connection between me and the Rubik's Cube.
After hesitating for a moment, Kane slowly reached out and touched the Rubik's Cube.
Upon seeing this, Dumbledore's heart tightened, and he instinctively reached out to stop him.
But just as Kane's fingertips were about to touch the Rubik's Cube...
The faint blue light surrounding the Rubik's Cube seemed to come alive, trembling slightly.
Dumbledore's movements came to an abrupt halt.
As expected, when Kane's hand actually touched the Rubik's Cube, it did not release the violent, scorching heat that it had when dealing with Professor Ald.
Seeing this, Kane felt reassured and gently picked up the Rubik's Cube.
At this moment, the Rubik's Cube seemed to have found its home, and the light gradually became stable, no longer showing any signs of resistance.
Dumbledore and Professor Alder exchanged a glance, their eyes filled with surprise and confusion.
Professor Old spoke first, his tone tinged with inquiry: "Kane, it seems this Rubik's Cube has an unusual connection with you. Did you do something just now?"
Kane frowned slightly, his mind quickly recalling his various encounters in that mysterious place.
"Professor, do you think it's possible that he has accepted God?"
Hermione blinked, then suddenly had a flash of inspiration and began to speculate.
Dumbledore, however, remained solemn, his gaze fixed on Kane and the Rubik's Cube, seemingly trying to piece together the truth from the information.
"Professor, I feel Hermione has a point. I feel this Rubik's Cube has a special connection with me." Kane responded in the same way. What happened in that place just now was really unbelievable.
"I'll consider this matter after I've advanced to Legendary status," Kane decided to himself.
Dumbledore nodded slightly and said, "Kane, this magical item is yours. You must be extremely careful; this cube possesses powerful magic, but it may also attract unknown dangers."
Professor Alder chimed in, "Young man, the headmaster is right. In our magical world, powerful magical artifacts of unknown origin often conceal enormous risks."
"Don't go around showing off just because you can control it. If you trigger some hidden magical trap, not only you, but I will also suffer."
As he spoke, he grimaced in pain, looked at his injured hand, and was still shaken.
"But Professor, isn't this yours?" Hermione asked, standing to the side in confusion.
"Little girl, this is mine, but I've never truly mastered it. I only know it can help wizards learn that kind of magic!"
Professor Old replied to Hermione with a serious expression.
Dumbledore stepped forward, his expression concerned yet somewhat serious: "Kane, in the days to come, you must keep a close eye on the Rubik's Cube. If there is anything unusual, be sure to come to me or Professor Alder immediately."
Kane nodded solemnly, fully aware of the weight of this responsibility: "I understand, Professor, Principal, I will be very careful."
Afterwards, under the repeated instructions of the professor and the principal, Kane and Hermione left Professor Ald's office.
Kane didn't know how much time had passed, but it seemed that curfew had arrived!
"Thank you, Kane."
The two walked side by side down the corridor when Hermione suddenly turned around and said with a sincere expression.
Just as Kane was about to respond, a sharp, piercing scream suddenly rang out like a bolt from the blue!
"Some students aren't sleeping; they're out on dates!"
