Hogwarts' Golden Glory
Chapter 189 My Dear Pen Pal
Lucius's grey-blue pupils contracted slightly.
The snake-headed staff in his hand struck the floor with a crisp sound.
He stared at Kane, as if seeing his son for the first time truly.
"12 Grimmauld Place?" His voice showed a rare hint of unease.
"That old mansion belonging to the Black family? Now it belongs to you?"
Kane took an old brass key from his inner pocket.
The key handle was engraved with the Black family crest: "Transfer of the magical contract signed after saving Black."
"Think about it, Father." Kane's voice carried a calculating calmness.
"It's an old house that's been around for centuries, filled with Black family heirlooms of dark magic. Even if Weasley brought ten alchemical compasses to investigate, he would be completely disoriented by the dark magic there."
A barely perceptible smile appeared on Lucius's lips: "And no one would have thought... that the Malfoy family's things would be hidden in someone else's house."
Kane tapped his wand lightly, creating a three-dimensional model of 12 Grimmauld Place in the air.
Soon, the model displayed an intricate room layout: "Kreacher has recognized me as his master, and he will help us place those...sensitive items."
Just then, there was a knock on the study door.
Seeing this, the two returned to the study.
With Lucius's consent, the study door was opened.
Draco, rubbing his sleepy eyes, stood in the doorway: "What are you plotting—Merlin!"
His gaze fell on the diary in Kane's hand. "Kane, you don't still keep a diary, do you?"
"Have you finished the Transfiguration homework I assigned you?" Lucius suddenly interrupted him, his voice regaining its usual authority.
Draco opened his mouth, but finally said dejectedly, "...Not yet."
"Perfect timing." Lucius adjusted the emerald cufflinks on his sleeve. "You're coming to London with me in a bit. Remember to bring your new spyglass."
Draco's eyes lit up: "We're going to—"
"Don't ask what you shouldn't ask." Lucius tapped his son's shoulder lightly with his serpent-headed staff.
But his tone had softened considerably. "Go change into some Muggle clothes. Don't dress like a Christmas tree."
Upon hearing Lucius's instructions, Draco immediately went back to his room to change his clothes.
Kane returned to his bedroom.
He casually tossed Voldemort's diary onto the bedding.
Upon seeing this, Igor immediately flew over from the window.
Then he poked the diary with disdain, as if he were poking a moldy Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Bean.
"Relax, this is someone's youth manual."
Kane pulled a quill pen from the table.
Then he casually sat cross-legged on the bed!
I opened the first page of my diary.
As soon as he opened it, Kane felt a force trying to examine his thoughts.
Kane then performed Occlumency.
To create the image of an ordinary, normal, soon-to-be second-year wizard for the other party.
He then wrote with a quill pen:
"I'm so happy to be able to record my every day."
Then, italicized writing slowly seeped through the pages of the diary.
"It's a pleasure to meet you. I'm Tom Riddle. Are you a student at Hogwarts?"
The other party has clearly taken the trap.
The message Kane left for the other party turned out to be that of a young wizard from Hogwarts.
Naive, kind, and friendless.
These little wizards are the easiest to fool.
Kane wrote with a laugh: "Wow! Merlin's beard, you can actually talk!"
The blank pages of the diary continued to display text.
"Of course, I know a lot more than that, I can even teach you many spells!"
Kane was certainly convinced that the spells sixteen-year-old Tom knew could greatly benefit a second-year wizard.
However, Kane did not believe that Voldemort could solve his problem at this point.
"Really? What if you can't answer that?"
Upon seeing Kane's question, the other party's pride immediately surfaced.
"It's impossible for me not to know the answer, but why don't you tell me your name first?"
Kane held the quill pen, a sly smile spreading across his face.
"Before we exchange names, let me ask you a few questions. From a potion-making perspective, why can Phoenix Island Tears be used as an antidote?"
The ink in the diary suddenly clumped together, as if it had been stumped by a question.
After more than ten seconds, he slowly revealed: "This is a complex problem... perhaps related to the phoenix's magical properties."
Kane continued, "A simple question: when casting the Avada Kedavra curse, what is the probability of the curse reflecting if the target is using 'Bless All'?"
In the notebook, Tom Riddle's memories were completely jumbled up.
The previous question could be answered by saying that the young wizard had seen a phoenix and was therefore curious.
But how should we answer this question?
These...these are definitely not questions that a second-year student should be asking!
Which second-grade students have already come into contact with the Killing Curse?
But he patiently continued writing on the blank page: "If it's my killing curse, the probability of it being rebounded is zero, there's absolutely no chance."
He was confident that his answer would definitely satisfy him!
But Kane's answer completely broke him down.
"How could that be? You're just bragging! Even the Dark Lord's Avada Kedavra curse would be reflected back! Let alone yours."
The diary is completely stuck.
It didn't move at all.
He was just a memory, but he could sense that his main soul had been severely damaged.
But who has the power to severely damage his wedding?
Now he seemed to understand that he had been killed by his own curse.
Thinking of this, he quickly rewrote it in his diary.
"Sorry, my answer was indeed a bit problematic. But do you know why the Dark Lord's spell was reflected?"
Kane had already piqued the other party's interest.
But Kane had no intention of telling the other party the answer.
Let him guess the rest himself.
"I don't know! All I know is that he was killed by his own spell."
The diary was somewhat unwilling to give up, clearly wanting to get more information out of it.
"Have you heard anything about Voldemort lately?"
Kane replied, "Of course! Last year, that boy who defeated the Dark Lord thwarted his plot once again!"
The diary was stunned once again.
Did the boy defeat Voldemort?
Has one's own soul fallen so low as to be defeated by a child?
"Could you tell me exactly what happened?"
The diary continued to ask questions.
Kane decided to try and bluff the other party.
"I've noticed you're quite interested in the Dark Lord! Do you have some kind of connection with him?"
However, the diary reacted quickly this time.
"Of course it doesn't matter. I don't even know who this Dark Lord you're talking about is. He just sounds very powerful from your description."
