Hogwarts' Golden Glory

Chapter 188 Diary

The carriage passed through the magical barrier over the English Channel.

A sudden, bone-chilling cold swept through the surroundings.

Dobby shrieked, "You rascal Dobby! You forgot to remind the young masters to fasten their seatbelts!"

Before he could finish speaking, the entire carriage began to shake violently.

Draco's head slammed hard against the car window.

"Damn it—" Draco cursed, clutching his forehead.

But Kane had already drawn his wand, the tip of which was pressed against the carriage he was sitting on.

This is used to stabilize the situation.

"The Ministry of Magic has activated a cross-border monitoring charm." Kane's voice was colder than the North Sea breeze. "It seems the new minister is indeed very diligent."

Dobby suddenly poked his head in upside down from the driver's seat.

The blue flower on his ear had withered: "Dobby heard! He heard the new minister gave Mr. Redhead Weasley a special search warrant! He can come to the manor every Wednesday and ransack it!"

After saying that, it covered its mouth in terror and almost fell off the car.

When the carriage pulled by the Night Chariot landed in the front yard of Malfoy Manor.

Narcissa Malfoy stood beside the gargoyle statue, her pale face appearing like a marble sculpture in the moonlight.

She was clutching a letter with its sealing wax stamp roughly torn open.

"Tomorrow," her voice was so soft it sounded like a curse, "Arthur Weasley will be back with his newly formed 'Dark Magic Items Investigation Group'."

She handed the letter to Kane.

Draco whistled: "It seems our dear minister has a lot to say about Father."

Kane unfolded the parchment, and the line of text beneath the Ministry of Magic's official seal was particularly striking:

"According to Article 7 of the New Regulations on the Control of Dark Magic Items, Arthur Weasley is granted special search authority, allowing him to conduct unannounced inspections of the Twenty-Eight Holy Race Manor..."

At the end, the new minister Pierce Sinkness's signature resembled a twisted centipede.

The moment Kane pushed open the bedroom door.

A red and blue shadow swooped down from the top of the four-poster bed.

The scorching air currents lifted the stray hairs on Kane's forehead.

"Looks like someone's unhappy."

Draco leaned against the doorframe, watching as Phoenix deliberately flicked a burning feather onto Kane's suitcase.

Kane waved his wand and extinguished the small flame.

He took out a small bottle of liquid that shimmered with a pearly luster from the dragon-skin pouch—Moonlight Nectar, a special product of French Veela.

Igor immediately turned his head this way, his amber eyes widening slightly.

But then it haughtily turned its head away and used its beak to preen the feathers under its wings.

As they finished tidying up for the third time, a silver-blue phoenix feather drifted down.

Kane caught the feather with his wand and found that the tip of the feather was still damp with ink—the smell of the principal's special ink from his office.

Igor immediately stopped grooming and flew towards the fireplace mantle as if nothing had happened, only to knock over a gilded picture frame.

"Looks like you went to see Fox again." Kane poured moonflower nectar into the crystal dish.

Igor pretended not to see it, but inadvertently turned around, and his tail feathers "just happened" to brush against the edge of the saucer.

Draco suddenly burst out laughing, pointing to the phoenix's left claw: "There's still chocolate sauce on the claw."

Upon hearing this, Ig immediately hid its paws under its feathers.

Kane took out a string of amethyst crystals strung together with dragon tendons from his suitcase and shook it gently.

The crystals clink together, making a crisp sound—this is Iggy's favorite toy.

Phoenix's neck turned involuntarily following the sound, but it quickly forced itself to look out the window, deliberately using its tail feathers to pat the cloak that Kane had just laid out.

"Alright." Kane placed the crystal chain and the small dish together on the carved coffee table. "Weasley will be searching tomorrow."

Igor heard Kane's words.

He immediately became excited.

The feathers on its body almost caught fire.

"Don't worry, don't worry. I'll definitely teach them a lesson when I get the chance!"

Kane knew that this was the other party accusing Arthur and his group of their evil deeds.

It turns out that after Arthur and his companions arrived at Malfoy Manor that day, they became unusually interested in the origins of this phoenix.

It took Igor a long time to get through to him.

This made Igor really disgusted with these people!

However, at this moment, Kane thought of something very important.

Voldemort's other Horcrux, Tom Riddle's Diary.

He is now in his father's hands.

It was because of Arthur's repeated attacks that Lucius developed a desire for revenge.

He put Voldemort's diary into Ginny's schoolbag.

But Kane didn't want to be passive, so he wanted to keep the diary in his own hands.

Lucius Malfoy's study was tightly shut.

After hearing the knock on the door.

"Come in."

Kane glanced at the table, where Lucius was writing a letter of complaint against Arthur.

"Father, I can help you deal with that thing left by the Dark Lord."

Kane got straight to the point.

Lucius's shoulder stiffened almost imperceptibly.

The silver serpent-headed staff struck the ground with a crisp sound: "Looks like you know quite a lot."

Lucius trusted his son very much.

He now believes that if Kane were given the same amount of time...

The Dark Lord will definitely not be a match for Kane.

"Then come with me."

Lucius nodded. Then he turned away.

The other party silently took down the family portrait hanging on the wall.

The complex alchemical mechanisms behind it were revealed.

After the seven turntables made of different materials rotated in sequence, the floor silently slid open, revealing a downward spiral staircase.

"Stay close to me," Lucius's voice echoed through the tunnel. "One wrong step and you'll trigger a trap inside."

We quickly reached the bottom.

Two live silver snakes were coiled on the door of the treasure vault at the bottom level.

The ancient runes on their scales flowed in the firelight.

Lucius lightly touched the eye of one of the snakes with his serpent-headed staff and hissed, "The glory of the Malfoy family."

The door opened silently, and a blast of cold air rushed out.

In the center of the treasure vault, a seemingly ordinary black diary lies quietly in the display case.

"Are you sure you want to take on this...trouble?" Lucius stared intently at his son with his grey-blue eyes.

After all, this thing isn't easy to get; the Dark Lord specifically gave instructions about it.

Kane placed his hand directly on the cabinet: "I know what's in here, I'll be fine."

Knowing that his father was worried about him, Kane said seriously.

Lucius wanted to ask something else, "Where did you come from—"

"That's not important." Kane put on his dragon-skin gloves and carefully took out his diary.

The "TM Riddle" on the cover flashes a red light when it comes into contact with the air.

"The important thing is that the Malfoy family can no longer have anything to do with it."

Kane safely retrieved the diary.

Lucius breathed a sigh of relief when he found nothing amiss.

Kane glanced at the remaining dark magic items in the room and offered a reminder.

"Father, you can put these items in the old Blake family house. That place belongs to me now, and it will be very safe there."
