Chapter 189 Negotiation (2)

Moore angrily rebuked the men in front of him, and the ruthlessness in his eyes made them take a step back.

Then, they got angry and started arguing.

The governor turned around and impatiently ordered, "You all stay outside."

He pulled one of his men by the collar and whispered, "Keep an eye out outside. If there's anything unusual, rush in immediately without hesitation."

His subordinates nodded repeatedly.

Just as the governor was about to enter the house, an arm blocked his way.

The governor's impatience was almost palpable as he looked at the chuckling Mor, "What is it?"

"You'll need to be searched before you can go in," Moore said noncommittally, his smile fading.

The governor gritted his teeth. He hadn't even been searched by Caesar, but he hadn't expected to be searched himself.

This is a provocation; he's trying to provoke me.

The governor, realizing this, suppressed his anger and said with one hand outstretched, "Come here."

After being searched in every part of his body, the governor was finally able to enter the house.

The house was covered in dust, and light squeezed in through the narrow windows, bringing only a negligible glimmer.

Such a filthy and chaotic environment, and such a humiliating manner, undoubtedly ignited the governor's anger.

He slammed the door shut, his hawk-like gaze sweeping across the room before settling firmly on Caesar.

Caesar, seemingly oblivious, casually invited, "Hurry up and sit down. You'd never guess what I've found."

With a smile on his face, Caesar held a glass bottle filled with golden liquid in his hand, swirling it around as he spoke smugly.

"To find this kind of liquor in this house that's been abandoned for who knows how long, wow, I'm really lucky."

The governor felt his blood rushing to his head, his temples throbbing, and he looked like a gas cylinder about to explode. He stood there, motionless.

Caesar placed the bottle on the old, long table, along with two clean glasses, looked up at the governor, and said with a half-smile, "I told you to sit down, didn't you hear me? You cripple!"

Without the slightest hesitation, the governor charged forward, heading straight for Caesar.

Caesar smiled triumphantly, straightened up, and strode toward the governor.

The governor was not carrying any offensive weapons, and he swung his only intact arm out with great force.

Caesar reacted swiftly, shifting his feet and meeting the governor's face head-on with his left hand. He steadied himself and thrust his left hand out forcefully.

The governor's legs propelled him forward, while Caesar pressed his face back, the two forces tearing at him in an instant.

Soon, his feet were dangling in the air, and he lay heavily on his back, kicking up a cloud of dust. His throat itched, and he coughed repeatedly.

Caesar strolled back to the table, uncorked the glass bottle, and poured himself a glass of wine.

As I raised my glass, the sunlight shone directly onto the wine, creating shimmering waves that looked as if a sliver of golden light had been captured within it.

Caesar took a sniff; the sweet aroma was delightful. He took a sip, and the sweet taste went down his throat without any spiciness, making it very easy to drink.

"Oh, Governor, you really should try this wine. It's really good."

Behind Caesar, the governor struggled to his feet, his hair disheveled and covered in dust, his eyes bloodshot, and he picked up a wooden chair that was about to fall apart.

What he wants to do is self-evident.

Caesar, as if he could clearly see what he was doing, warned calmly, "If I were you, I wouldn't do something so foolish, like you provoking those people in prison."

"Now look what's happened, they've all turned into zombies, and my daughter has to die again."

As Caesar spoke his last sentence, he shook his head, his face filled with anguish and a hint of pity in his words.

The governor froze, his hand loosened, and the wooden chair fell to the ground.

Just as it looked, it fell apart in an instant.

The governor's lips trembled, and he managed to utter a few syllables: "You know them?"

"Of course. Do you want to know?" Seeing the fish take the bait, Caesar's lips curled into a smile, and he turned to look at the governor.

There was undisguised greed in his eyes.

The governor understood the greed in Caesar's eyes and knew what Caesar meant by using the information about that group of people as leverage.

Even if it's a blatant trap, he has to jump in; he has to give Penny an explanation.

The governor nodded solemnly.

"Sit down." Caesar smiled and sat down in the chair, his smile looking more and more like that of a cunning fox.

"Let's discuss the terms."

Outside, the two groups of people were clearly separated.

One side occupied half of the house, and some noise could be heard coming from inside.

Milton paused slightly, looked up at the house, and saw the governor's key men rushing up beside him.

Milton glanced to the side and saw that several people had followed. Just as he was hesitating whether to go up with them...

The group had been thrown back, clutching their wounds and groaning in pain.

Milton stepped forward, blocking the group from Moore and his companions. He waved his hands repeatedly, explaining in a flustered manner, "I'm sorry, I'm sorry."

"We're just worried about something happening to the governor; we have no intention of taking action, really no."

Mohr and his teammates exchanged glances and let out a few chuckles.

The laughter drifted into their ears, full of mockery, and Milton and the men behind him blushed.

"Hey kid." Moore stepped forward, put his arm around Milton's shoulder, and forced him to turn around and look at his companions.

"Do you know what's most important for survival on the streets?"

Milton felt a little uncomfortable being pressed down by Moore. He tried to shrink back, but he couldn't get away. His face turned red, and he looked like a little white rabbit being held by Moore's hand.

Moore didn't expect this seemingly well-behaved student to answer, so he patted him on the shoulder and said, "It's ruthless."

"If anyone comes looking for trouble, use this to fend them off." Moore raised his hand, clenching it into a fist. The violent aura emanating from Moore reminded Milton of his past experiences with bullying, causing Milton's body to tremble slightly.

Milton still asked, "What if we can't win?"

"Can't beat them? Heh heh." Moore chuckled, looking at Milton like he was a fool. "Of course you have to fight even if you can't beat them, otherwise you'll be looked down upon, and next time you'll get beaten even worse."

"The next time will be even worse, it will never end."

Milton was stunned by what Moore said; wasn't this exactly what he had experienced during his cowardly high school years?

He retreated again and again, seemingly unable to see the anger beneath his restrained exterior, or perhaps he did see it but knew his cowardice and didn't think he would be retaliated against.

The rampant bullying escalated like a snowball, becoming increasingly severe.

"Kid, you still have a lot to learn."

Moore patted Milton on the back of the head, shoving him back to his companion.
