Zombie Marvel? Luckily, I'm Superman!

Chapter 18 Snap and the Past Timeline

"Oh boss, I can't get in touch with you. I was thinking of bringing Morgan to find you..." Happy's chubby face fell as soon as he saw the two of them.

Morgan was not in good condition; his face was flushed and he was breathing rapidly.

The dark purple patterns spread down her arms to her neck, shimmering faintly like living things.

"Give it to me."

Tony clenched his fist and took Morgan, who was struggling to hold back her tears.

"Daddy, it hurts, it's so uncomfortable..." Morgan groaned.

The effects of dark purple markings vary from person to person; some experience no reaction before the onset, while others suffer immense pain.

Unfortunately, Morgan belonged to the latter category.

Tony opened his mouth weakly, his arm around Morgan trembling slightly, and even his voice trembled.

"It's okay, it's okay, Daddy's here."

God knows how important Morgan is to him; just a few days ago, he told himself she loved him three thousand times before going to sleep.

And now...

Happy stepped forward guiltily: "Boss... I didn't take good care of Morgan..."

Tony waved his hand, his eyes fixed on Morgan in his arms.

"It has nothing to do with you, don't overthink it."

Morgan turned around with difficulty and saw Lin Yi. The look in his eyes made Lin Yi's heart ache.

In the past, when Morgan was sick, she would act coquettishly and pretend to be wronged, pestering Lin Yi to grant her all sorts of requests.

Now, she seems to have no energy left to even act coquettishly.

"Daddy, Lin...am I...going to die?" Morgan said in an uneasy tone, describing the terrible ending.

These words pierced Tony like a sharp knife, and a sense of powerlessness welled up in his heart, almost causing him to collapse and hug Morgan.

Lin Yi was also feeling terrible. When he first transmigrated, it was Morgan's childlike innocence that kept him company during a time when he almost stopped eating beef. He had long since come to regard this somewhat clever child as his own little sister.

He stepped forward and slowly covered Morgan's eyes, while in his other hand, the Mind Stone and Soul Stone shone with a soft glow.

"What nonsense are you talking about? With your daddy and me here, everything will be fine."

"Sleep, have a good sleep, everything will be alright. When you wake up, I'll take you to play in the sky, okay..."

Little Morgan did not answer, and under the influence of the gem, he fell asleep, his breathing gradually becoming calm.

"I used the Infinity Stones to put her into a deep sleep for the time being, so she won't feel any pain, but that won't lessen the effects of the markings on her..." Lin Yi said in a low voice.

[Sir, I'm sorry to bother you now, but Stark satellites have just detected that some cities are out of order...]

[Akola and Kingsley have completely lost order, and New Flint Bay is in grave danger...]

[Additionally, confirmation has come from the rocket that the dark purple patterns are simultaneously occurring on all known life-bearing planets and races. The specific situation is similar to that on Earth...]

Tony listened quietly to Friday's report. As for the last piece of information, he had been mentally prepared for it the night before. Something that even the Infinity Stones couldn't affect probably wouldn't just affect Earth.

After a long silence, he looked at Morgan in his arms and sighed, "Lin, I think we really can't wait a week..."

Friday's predictions about the development of the event have been overturned multiple times, shortening from the initial six months to the current two weeks.

"Snap your fingers. If that doesn't work, we'll have to move on to the second phase of the plan. We can't afford to waste a moment longer!" Lin Yi said.

Tony nodded silently, then got into the car with Morgan and Lin Yi in his arms.

Tony can't fly with Morgan, but he has to keep Morgan by his side to deal with any unexpected events.

Happy drove the three of them to the Avengers headquarters.

Tony held Morgan and looked out the window. Lin Yi wanted to say a few words of comfort, but she gave up because of her bad mood.

"Lin, do you think it would be helpful to escape to another universe if things really can't be salvaged..." Tony suddenly asked.

"You mean time travel? I don't know..." Lin Yi frowned and replied, then shook his head: "At least we need to know the exact transmission route before we can be sure..."

Silence fell again inside the car...

Upon arriving at the ruins of the Avengers headquarters, Tony summoned all the core members of the Avengers.

Faced with the news that in a maximum of two weeks, Earth, and even the entire universe, would become a hellish inferno, no one could remain calm. Nor would anyone object to snapping their fingers again.

Tony recreated that simple Infinity Gauntlet, which carried their last hope.

This time, Carroll will take on the important task of snapping his fingers.

It's not that I doubt Lin Yi.

According to Strange, Lin Yi himself is a variable; perhaps the snap would work if someone else were to strike the finger. Carol's physical abilities are formidable, and she could easily withstand the energy attack of the Infinity Stones.

However, saying this is just for psychological comfort.

"It's about to begin!" Carol glanced around at the Avengers in front of her, all of whom had solemn expressions.

She cautiously activated the dual-star mode, took a deep breath, and put on her gloves.

The six Infinity Stones lit up instantly, and a massive amount of energy surged into her body. Even with Carol's powerful physique, which allowed her to travel through the universe, she still let out a muffled groan and trembled slightly uncontrollably.

The situation is not as bad as Lin Yi's, but it's much better than Banner's, who almost collapsed right from the start.

She gritted her teeth, concentrated all her will, and made that crucial wish—to completely eradicate all the dark purple lines and their source.

Om-!

A cosmic-scale gamma-ray burst is once again spreading rapidly from Earth towards the edge of the universe.

As the light faded, Carol, panting heavily, wearily removed her gloves. The energy burn marks left on her arms were alarming.

Everyone held their breath, their tense gazes fixed on Tony.

Tony, meanwhile, was staring intently at Morgan, who was fast asleep on a small bed.

One second, two seconds, three seconds...

Looking at the unchanged patterns on his face, and listening to the constant scanning in his ears and the reports from Stark's satellite, Tony's brow furrowed even deeper, and he clenched his fists in a helpless manner.

Hope was completely shattered.

The dark purple patterns once again proved to them that this was on the same level as the six Infinity Stones, or even higher.

"Execute the gem return plan immediately!" Steve decided decisively. "Since it's not working, we can't let the gem stay here and continue to increase the variables."

The plan has been updated again.

Banner, Clint, and Natasha remained on Earth, working with the large number of auxiliary robots Tony had urgently created to deal with the escalating attacks, maintain order, and isolate the infected as much as possible.

Tony, Steve, and Carol team up to return the other Infinity Stones except for the Time Stone, and then enter the Quantum Realm to seek a solution.

Lin Yi, on the other hand, took the Time Stone and Strange to the timeline where the Ancient One existed, which was the timeline where Banner had just borrowed the stone.
