Zombie Marvel? Luckily, I'm Superman!

Chapter 17 The Marks on Morgan's Body

Several attacks occurred late that night.

Some warriors infected with the blackish-purple markings were in extreme pain, as the markings seemed to be eroding their bodies and minds.

But that wasn't the worst of it. Some of the soldiers, groaning in pain, rapidly swelled up, their eyes turning bloodshot, and began indiscriminately attacking those around them.

Meanwhile, reports from all over the world also appeared on Tony's servers.

[Global Breaking News: Cases of Infection with Unidentified Skin Patterns Emerge, Suspected to Be a Novel Virus.]

[A zombie apocalypse has erupted; those bearing the markings are indiscriminately attacking moving objects.]

[The infection is out of control, and attacks have occurred in multiple locations around the world.]

The situation is far more serious than imagined.

Overnight, the situation escalated, and the black and purple patterns rapidly spread across the globe.

By 7 a.m., it was roughly estimated that more than 3% of humans had been infected with the black and purple markings, and one-third of them mutated in a very short time, losing their minds and attacking their relatives and friends.

Media outlets, news channels, and virtually every app that provides access to the outside world are reporting on similar events extensively.

Even more worrying is that the number of infections is rising sharply.

Hospitals were overflowing, many places launched zero-yuan shopping promotions, countless people took to the streets, riots broke out, and various conspiracy theories began to spread on a large scale on social media platforms.

Overnight, Earth descended into chaos.

……

At noon, Lin Yi, who had just finished lunch, sat outside the isolation wall, staring absently at the six radiant gems in his hand.

He temporarily put the Infinity Stones under his control. Although some people objected, Tony silenced them with a single sentence.

[With Lin Yi's abilities, who can stop him from getting the Infinity Stones?]

If the gems are stored elsewhere, can you stop someone from stealing them?

Speechless, having witnessed Lin Yi's fighting prowess, none of those present had the confidence to fight him, even with the power of the Infinity Stones.

Lin Yi tossed the gemstone around like a toy, his mind replaying the settings, movies, and even animations and comics about the Marvel Universe that he had seen before his transmigration.

There was almost no gain; the only thing that Lin Yi thought was possible was the zombie Marvel universe.

The characteristics exhibited by these dark purple patterns are too similar to those of zombies: enhanced bodies, devoid of reason, lack of pain sensation, and aggression towards life.

Apart from the unknown transmission route, everything about it matches the description of a zombie virus.

Lin Yi's sixth sense told him that his peaceful life was about to be completely shattered.

"If only everything could be smashed with a single punch..."

He hates this situation...

With a sigh, Lin Yi caught the sound of footsteps and knew it was Tony without turning around.

"What do you mean, just smash it with one punch?" Tony walked over and tossed Lin Yi a can of Coke.

The cool, sweet drink helped to calm my agitated mind a little.

"Nothing much, how did it go?" Lin Yi breathed a sigh of relief, hoping to hear good news from Tony.

Tony looked distressed: "A whole night has passed, and there's still no progress on what these patterns are."

"This thing cannot be effectively analyzed at all, and most devices cannot even capture images of it, but it can be observed by sight."

"It seems to possess a certain level of intelligence, as if it's deliberately interfering with the machine's detection. Of course, this is just speculation," Tony said uncertainly.

We are passive; all the information we have so far is speculative. This thing doesn't conform to any reasonable way of existence that we currently understand scientifically.

The only thing that's certain is that this thing is definitely not a product of Earth.

"However..." Tony changed the subject, his expression becoming more relaxed.

According to Gamora, Thanos did not have these markings on his body before entering the Quantum Realm.

"She probably wasn't lying, so we're now initially suspecting that this thing comes from the quantum realm."

"If my guess is correct, then it makes sense. The rules in the quantum realm are different from those in the universe, so it's normal that we can't detect them."

"I've already started preparations. If all else fails, I'll enter the quantum realm."

"Count me in," Lin Yi replied. He would be living here for the rest of his life, and if the markings were allowed to continue, it would eventually turn into a zombie universe.

"No, you can't go!"

These words weren't spoken by Tony, but by Strange, who came through the portal.

The teleported Strange looked exhausted. He had spent the entire night rummaging through books in Kamar-Taj, hoping to find records related to patterns that he had previously overlooked.

And he actually found a clipboard.

The pattern on it was very similar to the black and purple lines, and even the symptoms described matched.

Unfortunately, the record only contains this information, without specifying its origin, nature, or how it was resolved.

But the last sentence sent a chill down Strange's spine.

The appearance of such patterns is usually caused by unknown variables, and it represents the beginning of the end of the universe.

After Strange finished speaking, the two looked at each other, unsure of what to say.

What Strange found seems to fit the Dark Dimension more closely than the Quantum Realm.

"Lin, you need to come with me to see the Ancient One," Strange added. "You're also a variable; perhaps the Ancient One can see something in you."

"The Ancient One? She's still alive?" Lin Yi asked back, then instantly realized that Strange must be referring to the Ancient One from another timeline.

After thinking about it, meeting the Ancient One might not be a bad idea. She's a seasoned riddle teller; she might actually know something.

"When are we leaving?"

"The sooner the better, ideally now."

Lin Yi...?

"Seriously, we'll see in a week whether we need to snap our fingers again."

"No...maybe we can't wait a week," Tony interjected.

"With attacks occurring more and more globally, we clearly don't have that much buffer time."

"To be honest, I... wait a minute." Tony's expression suddenly changed.

A message with a special symbol came on Friday.

[Sir...] Friday's voice paused for a moment.

[Traces have been discovered on Miss Morgan's body.]

Tony, who had barely slept all night, suddenly felt dizzy and staggered two steps, almost falling over.

Without saying a word, he immediately started the still not fully repaired MK85, told Pepper not to tell him the news on Friday, and then took off.

boom!

The sonic boom rang out, and Lin Yi heard it as well. His heart sank, and he immediately flew towards the wooden house by the lake.

In their haste, the two completely forgot that they could have Strange open a portal...

Tony's flying speed was no match for Lin Yi's. In just a few seconds, Lin Yi caught up with Tony, pulled Tony along, and released a bio-force field to accelerate again.

In less than a minute, the two arrived at the lakeside cabin and saw Happy carrying Morgan hurriedly walking toward the car.

Happy!

Lin Yi and Tony rushed forward.
