Chapter 372 Memories
Chapter 372 Memories
"Master," Tom bowed respectfully as he appeared, "what are your orders?"
Morris briefly explained the crown to Tom.
"Do you think that crown has any connection to Voldemort now?" he asked finally.
"A tiara." Tom hesitated for a moment, then looked up. "I'm not sure, but it could very well be Ravenclaw's tiara."
.
"Ravenclaw's tiara?" Maurice squinted.
Tom nodded his head and began to explain.
"Back in school, I had the idea of collecting all the relics of the four great heroes. Ravenclaw's tiara,
Hufflepuff's golden cup, Slytherin's locket, and Gryffindor's sword... perhaps Voldemort has already turned them all into Horcruxes.
Horcrux?
Morris's expression turned serious when he heard the word.
Very good, perhaps he will soon be able to obtain another fragment of Voldemort's soul.
The next morning, as Maurice entered the dining room, the light naturally shone on the Slytherin table.
Draco was already seated there, talking to his two henchmen, Crabbe and Goyle.
What is immediately apparent is that Draco is no longer as tense and cautious as he was a while ago; on the contrary, he appears relaxed, even cheerful.
He got into a fight with Ron last night and was put in solitary confinement, but these punishments didn't seem to affect him at all.
Maurice had a guess in mind, so he stepped forward and stood behind Draco.
His behavior immediately attracted the attention of several Slytherin students nearby—he was not well-liked in Slytherin.
Draco quickly realized that someone was behind him.
He turned around and was slightly taken aback when he saw it was Maurice.
"What's wrong?" His tone wasn't friendly; it was more of a question.
In his view, he hadn't offended Maurice in a long time.
"Come with me for a moment, Malfoy," Maurice said calmly.
Hearing this, Draco gave Maurice a strange look, then chuckled and said, "What makes you think I'd listen to you?"
Crabbe and Gore joined in the laughter.
Morris ignored him and continued, "I know you're working for that man. He made you steal the tiara from the Room of Requirement."
Draco's expression froze instantly.
"What are you talking about?" he asked, trying to appear calm.
Crabbe and Goyle also glanced at Maurice instinctively; judging from their bewildered expressions, they seemed completely unaware of the situation.
"You know what I mean," Maurice said. "That thing will kill you, Malfoy."
"That's my own business." Draco's tone was very stiff as he looked directly into Maurice's eyes.
"Yeah?"
Morris's voice suddenly softened.
Now that things have come to this, there's no need to hide it anymore.
He is not an indecisive person.
Capture the spirit and seize thoughts.
For the sake of efficiency, he did not use a gentle approach, but instead went straight in, piercing Draco's brain with his mental energy.
Draco's body trembled violently, and his pupils dilated abruptly.
He tried to break free, but his body was completely unresponsive, and he couldn't even ask the people around him for help.
His consciousness was powerless against Maurice's invasion, and the memories in his mind kept churning as his gaze fell upon Malfoy Manor.
As darkness fell, the flames of the fireplace flickered, casting long and short shadows of the three people in the living room.
Through Draco's perspective, Maurice saw a woman in front of him, and...
Voldemort himself!
Morris immediately became extremely alert.
"You know what to do, son," Voldemort's voice rang out at the opportune moment, icy and chilling, with a hissing sound like a snake. "There is something of mine at Hogwarts that has been hidden in the Room of Requirement for many years. It is a crown, an ancient crown. You must find it, retrieve it, and bring it to me."
Through Legilimency, Maurice was able to clearly sense Draco's unspeakable fear and pressure.
"Dark Lord, why entrust such an important task to a child?"
A voice came from the side; it was the woman from before.
Judging from her age, she should be Draco Malfoy's mother, Narcissa Malfoy.
Voldemort turned his head, his scarlet eyes giving Narcissa a cold glance. "I wasn't talking to you."
Morris sensed that Draco's fear had deepened.
"Tell me, Narcissa Malfoy," Voldemort continued, "can you go to Hogwarts in place of your son, right under Dumbledore's nose, and find that thing for me?"
Narcissa fell silent.
Voldemort stared at Draco again and asked, word by word, "Draco Malfoy, tell me, can you complete the task I've given you?"
Is there any possibility of refusal?
Draco could only nod tremblingly, "Of...of course, Lord Dark Lord."
"7
Immediately afterwards, the view began to shift.
A house that grants every request.
Draco rummaged through the mountain of garbage alone, a few strands of hair hanging messily over his forehead, his body covered in dust.
The room where you can always ask for help is dimly lit, so you can barely see anything.
at last.
"This is..
""
Draco picked something up.
It was a silver-gray crown inlaid with a blue gemstone. Upon closer inspection, one could see a line of small characters engraved on the metal part of the crown: "Extraordinary wisdom is the greatest wealth of mankind."
It really is Ravenclaw's crown.
Just then, the image began to blur and eventually disappeared completely.
Draco snapped out of his daze, pointed at Maurice, and asked, his face pale, "What did you do?"
Morris smiled slightly.
He had just seen a great many memories in Draco's mind, but to an outsider, they had only looked at each other for a few seconds.
Everything happened in the blink of an eye.
But Draco should have already noticed something was wrong.
"Give me that crown," Maurice said calmly. "You have no right to refuse."
"You're crazy! I don't know what you're talking about!"
Draco's voice unconsciously rose a little, drawing sidelong glances from those around him.
He immediately realized his lapse in composure and lowered his voice: "I have no idea what you mean by 'crown,' it has nothing to do with me."
Morris sighed and shook his head. "Let's talk outside."
After saying that, he turned and walked towards the gate.
Draco was reluctant to comply, but when Maurice glanced back at him, he began to tremble.
No...that won't work.
In the end, Draco only said "Wait for me" to his two henchmen before following Maurice out the door.
