Become a Homelander and a Marvel superstar

Chapter 600 Will You Marry Me?

"Listen, Stephen." Christine wiped away a tear from the corner of her eye. "No matter why you came here, no matter what happened in that universe, now that you're here, you must abide by the rules."

"I agree." Strange looked directly into Christine's eyes and smiled. "As long as I can stay by your side, you can set whatever rules you want."

Christine avoided Strange's gaze and continued speaking.

"The Buster Foundation and the Illuminati will not allow an uncontrolled multiverse variant to roam freely in our world."

"This means that if you do stay, you will be stripped of all your supernatural privileges. You will no longer be able to access any mystical items or enter any temples. You will likely live as an ordinary person from now on. No magic, no privileges, no superhero aura."

She paused, as if trying to catch even the slightest hesitation or anger on Strange's face.

"You'll become a completely ordinary person, Stephen. Just like any other nine-to-five office worker on the street."

Upon hearing this, Strange's lips didn't droop; instead, he laughed out loud. He leaned back in his chair, as if a tremendous burden had been lifted from his shoulders.

"Christine, you might not believe it, but this is exactly what I've been dreaming of!"

Christine was taken aback, clearly not expecting Dawsterrange's reaction.

"To live a normal life with you," Strange continued, his tone devoid of any joking tone. "We'll find a house with a yard, get a dog, and go to Long Island to see the ocean on weekends."

"In my universe, I possess all magical powers, but I lack you. Every night, as I sit in that enormous leather chair at the New York Sanctuary, watching the traffic outside, I think, if only I could trade this damn magic for an ordinary morning..."

Strange looked on with anticipation.

"...If you're frying eggs in the kitchen wearing my shirt, or if we're arguing about which movie to watch on the weekend, I would absolutely give anything without hesitation."

Christine could see the sincerity in Strange's eyes, like that of a boy who had just opened his heart.

The man was not lying.

He has experienced loss and despair, and now he has put aside all his pride and ambition, just to grasp this faint glimmer of hope.

She once longed day and night for the man obsessed with saving the world to say those words to her, until all her dreams were shattered.

"You..." Christine opened her mouth, about to say something.

With a soft "whoosh," the metal door of the interrogation room slid open to the sides, interrupting her words.

The sorcerer Mordo walked in with several Ultron robots.

"Stephen!" Mordo opened his arms wide, his face beaming with a warm smile, as if he were truly welcoming a long-lost friend. "It's so nice to see you."

"Mordo." Strange raised an eyebrow. He noticed Mordo's attire; it was of very high quality. "Looks like you're doing quite well in this universe, becoming the Sorcerer Supreme?"

"It's alright. At least no one is arbitrarily breaking the laws of nature and making a mess of things."

Modu smiled and walked to the table, reaching out to unfasten a pair of metal bracelets from his belt.

"The reminiscing is over, Stephen. We need to get down to business."

Mordo placed the bracelet on the table in front of Strange, his tone relaxed.

"You know, it's like how the NYPD always handcuffs a suspect and reads the Miranda Kerr announcement when they arrest them. It's just a formality. After all, you've crossed the universe, so we have to follow the rules."

Strange looked at the pair of metal bracelets that resembled handcuffs, but said nothing.

Christine frowned.

She disliked this kind of hypocritical deception.

Especially since she had already developed a liking for the honest Strange in front of her, she didn't want to see him being kept in the dark.

She hesitated for a moment, but finally stood up, breaking the relaxed atmosphere that Mordo had deliberately created.

"Don't listen to him, Stephen."

"I don't want to lie to you, those are the Foundation's anti-magic handcuffs. Once you put them on, they will seal the magical circuits within your body."

Christine stated bluntly.

"I'm telling you the truth in the hope that you can understand. In this universe, the name 'Doctor Strange' is synonymous with extreme danger. The Illuminati won't let your guard down."

Strange saw the concern in Christine's eyes, which warmed his heart.

"Thank you for your honesty, Christine," Strange smiled slightly, seemingly unconcerned. "But as I said before, I'm willing to stay here, even if it means giving up all my magic and living as an ordinary person. If these handcuffs make you feel safe, I have no objection."

Mordo raised his eyebrows, seemingly somewhat surprised by Strange's compliance.

However, not resisting is a good thing; he was just about to pick up the handcuffs.

"Wait a minute," Strange suddenly said.

Mordo immediately took a half step back warily, and the hands of several Ultron robots behind him simultaneously lit up.

"Don't be nervous, Mordo. I'm not going to rebel." Strange raised his hands to indicate that he was not a threat.

He turned to Christine and said, "Before I lose my magic completely, please allow me to do one last thing. Just one thing."

Christine nodded slightly.

Mordo frowned, but did not stop him.

Strange then made a few smooth hand gestures.

Golden sparks in the shape of Ekron exploded at his fingertips.

Immediately afterwards, the mage's robe on his body gradually disappeared.

She changed into a haute couture black swallowtail dress, with a neat bow tie at the neckline.

In his left hand, a large bunch of vibrant red roses appeared out of thin air.

In his right hand lay a black velvet jewelry box.

Strange walked step by step toward Christine, his eyes filled with tenderness.

He stopped in front of Christine and knelt on one knee.

"Stephen..." Christine covered her mouth, unable to contain her excitement.

"In my universe, I missed you... but fate has given me a second chance." Strange looked up, his gaze sincere. "I don't care about superhero titles or the glory of saving the world, I just want you."

He opened the velvet box, inside which lay a dazzling diamond ring.

"Will you marry me, Christine? To spend this ordinary life with me?"

This scene had appeared countless times in her dreams.

She fantasized about which upscale restaurant Stephen would propose to her, or on which snowy street.

For days and nights, she had been hoping that arrogant man would bow his head for her and put a ring on her finger.

But she never imagined that this scene would unfold in a cold interrogation room, with several dangerous killing robots standing beside her.

Now all of this has actually happened.
