Chapter 634 So Many White Queens
Chapter 634 So Many White Queens
Rune followed a mutant in a gray uniform to a magnificent and beautiful crystal palace.
In Krakow, almost all the buildings have a considerable degree of postmodernism—that is, they are pieces together architectural fragments from different eras and cultures, so their shapes are particularly exaggerated and no two buildings are the same.
But the palace in front of us doesn't look like a building at all. Instead, it looks like an artwork made of rows of natural crystals. The whole structure is made of crystal clear material, and its structure is like a prism, which cleverly reflects the moonlight, making it look mysterious and gorgeous.
Looking at this building, Rune couldn't help but think of that thing in his workshop that looked like a child's art assignment—
Um, that's quite a difference.
To be honest, for a fleeting moment, just for a split second, he really wanted to exchange his other reward for this building, but in the end, Rune restrained himself.
Upon reaching the entrance, the mutant bowed to Rune but did not proceed inside. Rune nodded slightly in return and then entered the palace.
Rune walked on the thick white carpet, quietly observing everything around him. The pure white and the occasional glimpses of gold gave the space a magnificent and noble atmosphere.
At the end of the corridor is the council chamber, which is also the meeting area designated by the White Queens. Communication between telepaths does not require speaking.
Pushing open the door and stepping inside, the seven White Queens welcomed Rune's arrival.
"Welcome to the pure white palace of Krakor, powerful superhumans," said one of the White Queens, seated in the main seat, her smile confident and haughty.
Rune nodded, casually pulled out a chair and sat down. "Where's Wolverine's blood?"
A white queen snapped her fingers, and a transparent reagent bottle flew over from a short distance. The blood looked no different from ordinary blood. "Want to inspect the goods?"
"it is good."
Rune didn't hold back; his dark magic transformed into strands of silk, snatching the reagent bottle away.
The White Queens immediately glared at Rune.
They certainly didn't deceive Rune, nor were they angry because of the loss of Wolverine's blood. Here, Wolverine's blood wasn't that important. As councilors, they could simply give the word, and liters of Wolverine's blood would be sent over immediately.
The White Queens were truly angered because Rune dared to question a member of the Krakor council, which they considered an insult.
However, the other White Queen used her psychic abilities to warn her counterparts against rash actions: "The palace was just repaired; do you want to repair it again?"
Rune began performing a magical creature bloodline fusion spell in front of them. The ritual magic looked incredibly rudimentary. The other White Queens could only see him chanting incantations before pouring Wolverine's blood into the water, followed by wisps of black mist that merged into it.
If he hadn't said anything, almost no one would have associated this bottle of pale pink liquid with a potion that could grant others powerful regenerative abilities.
However, some curious individuals always want to find out what Rune is doing.
"What is this thing for?" The White Queen who spoke was very young, and looked like she wasn't even an adult yet.
Rune glanced at the White Queen and said softly, "It can help that wolf regain its power, and Logan will also have a magnificent revenge—"
That's right, Rune didn't obtain the Wolverine blood for himself; he had already acquired Logan's superpowers. This potion was prepared for the wolf who was traveling with him.
"Ah! A fallen hero rises again to launch a bloody revenge against a bandit who has become king—this script is so clichéd—" Rune sighed, "but it's so exciting."
"Wine always gets better with age, and so do people; the more they experience, the more insightful they become." One of the White Queens nodded, a satisfied yet slightly melancholic smile on her face. "He—he's probably one of the few heroes who survived in our area."
Rune looked at the White Queen, who was wearing a close-fitting white robe and light blue lipstick. Her demeanor was different from other domineering White Queens; she looked more like a beautiful woman who had experienced the world and was elegant and noble.
She must be the White Queen from the wasteland.
“But I don’t think that Wolverine will appreciate your kindness,” Rune said, squinting at the White Queen. “He spoke of you to me personally.”
The White Queen from the wasteland remained silent for a moment before finally asking, "Could you tell me what he said about me?"
"He said you were a traitor, and not just you, he described your husband—if he is still your husband—in the same way. He thinks you are both traitors."
"Black Bolt is still my husband, but believe me, we have our reasons, Rune," the White Queen said helplessly. "After learning that Red Skull had become the ruler of that wasteland, our grief was no less than Logan's, but what I care more about is why Wolverine could tolerate those villains slaughtering his own students!"
She stood up. "Wasn't he Xavier Academy's most ferocious, front-line wolf? Why did everyone else die, but he survived?! Why?!"
The White Queen practically roared these words, her face filled with intense hatred that completely ruined her beauty.
The other White Queens also fell silent, not daring to say more. Even among the most persecuted races in the multiverse, there were almost no White Queen counterparts whose fates were more tragic than that of this Wasteland White Queen.
When Black Bolt brought the White Queen, who was injured by a nuclear explosion and whose DNA was disintegrating, to him for help, Charles could hardly believe that this woman covered in ugly scars was the proud and beautiful White Queen.
If it weren't for Lingdan, a top-tier physician capable of editing DNA, even if she had survived, she probably would have had a very difficult time regaining her appearance and superpowers.
Rune, who knew something about the Return of the Wolf storyline, roughly understood some of it, but he didn't reveal it. He didn't want to upset the White Queen, who had not only lost many of her people but also her true love, Cyclops.
The Wasteland White Queen's eyes were bloodshot, and her expression looked like she wanted to devour someone. The other two White Queens who were near her put their hands on her and used their psychic abilities to help her calm down.
After a few minutes, she finally composed herself. "I'm sorry, I didn't—I didn't mean to. I shouldn't have taken my anger out on you. I just—"
"It's nothing." Rune waved his hand, indicating that he didn't care about her offense. Just as the White Queen was about to say something, an explosion suddenly came from outside.
Who's looking to die here?
