I build nuclear bombs in the giant world

Chapter 8 Breakthrough of Wall Maria

"Ian, this is the schedule for next week. Tomorrow night, send the mistress to town." The butler handed Ian a chart with the time marked on it.

"Yes, sir." Ian put away the watch, took out a notebook and handed it over: "Sir, this is last week's homework. Please check if there are any mistakes."

The housekeeper nodded, opened the notes and flipped through them casually: "Perfect, you have almost finished learning the common words, and you don't need to go to class anymore."

"My husband taught me well."

"I have lived for so many years, and you are one of the few children who I think is talented." The housekeeper folded the notes and handed them back: "Do a good job, and I will apply to the superiors to make you a commoner. Reis is a very distinguished surname. It is an honor for you to serve the Lacey family."

"Ian understands."

"Well, you can go." The butler nodded.

Ian bowed respectfully and left holding the chart and notes.

This is his third month of learning writing, and he is finally a master.

Learning a new language is really not an easy task. He worked very hard, reading and writing with a torch while standing guard at night, and he mastered basic common writing in three months.

Standing under the eaves and looking at the pasture, I saw that it was already autumn. The weeds were dry, the leaves had fallen, and the autumn wind blew on my face, giving me a chill.

He dreamed of Asuka twice more. He deliberately recorded the time. It took him almost a month to dream of Asuka, and Asuka said that she saw Ian every day.

Each meeting was very short, less than ten minutes before I woke up.

He cherished this short opportunity to meet and didn't have time to explain to Asuka whether this was a dream. He always took the time to ask all the questions he wanted to ask.

For example, how are soil-based incendiary bombs and explosives made, how to make explosives more powerful, and what do real people who get burned in a fire look like?

He had been preparing to escape, and he already had a plan in mind to use the fire as cover to leave.

It was the night Kenny and Lord Reis came to massacre the farm. He left too early and could easily be discovered, so he planned to run to the refugee area after the hole was broken in Wall Maria.

He has carefully sorted out the timeline. Ten years have passed and he can no longer remember too many details of the plot, but the order of major events is still in his mind.

First, Wall Maria was breached by the Armored Titan and the Super Giant. Almost at the same time, Allen's father came to the Reis territory and killed the Reis family, leaving only Lord Reis.

After that, because he was afraid that Allen's father would find Histria, Lord Leith took Kenny to the farm. Kenny originally planned to take the first step and kill everyone on the farm, leaving only Lord Leith. The heir came to inherit the ancestor, but Lord Leith was afraid of taking this responsibility and begged Kenny to save Histria's life. The rest of the insiders were basically killed, including Histria's mother.

Ian was preparing to leave that night. He planned to set a fire, find a substitute to die for him, and then go to the refugee area to change his appearance and make up a new identity.

After Wall Maria was breached, the identity of the refugee could no longer be verified. He could easily blend in with the refugees and have a new identity certificate.

There will be many choices after that. He does not plan to join the army, but he wants to get into the upper echelons of the government, gain more power and influence, and pave the way for the future "core building" plan.

As for Reiner and his group, he really didn't want to have too much contact with them.

Humans are a weak race in front of giants. Except for dwarf giants like Levi, most of the other humans are just food for giants.

Surviving is Ian's core goal. It's too easy to die in the Survey Corps. He remembers that when he was watching the show, the members of the Survey Corps really died in batches, except for a few with the aura of the protagonist. One, the rest are basically cannon fodder.

Even Captain Erwin was dead, and he really didn't want to go to such a dangerous place.

He positions himself as logistical support, so he should leave things like combat to a powerful dwarf like Levi.

At night, he sent the hostess to the town with ease.

The soldiers were all familiar with him, and he said hello several times and said he was leaving for a while.

Ian wore a cloak and came to a small alley. In the corner, there was a very noisy bar. When he opened the door, he could smell the smell of alcohol and cigarettes. Drinkers were shouting loudly. On the stage, there were people wearing very good clothes. The young dancer swayed her slender waist.

Someone was gambling, shaking the dice, dropping the chips in their hands, and their faces turned red.

Ian and the tavern owner looked at each other, handed over a special silver coin, walked through the back door, and entered the basement.

There is a large space in the basement. This is the town's black market, selling some contraband.

Ian came here to pick up the goods he ordered last month, and the deposit alone cost him three gold coins.

"Your things." A man with a scar on his face handed over a tight package.

Ian opened the cloth and took a look. It was a brand new pistol, equipped with a dozen bullets wrapped in deerskin.

After Ian checked it and confirmed that there was nothing wrong with it, he gave the remaining five gold coins to the black marketeer and left in a hurry.

The next day, he sent the hostess back to the farm.

The sunshine in the afternoon was very good, and he wanted to go to the countryside to try out the wheat gunpowder he made.

He made a batch of wheat gunpowder himself and just got a flintlock gun today so he could test its power.

But while walking on the grass, he suddenly heard a crisp sound.

It was a slap in the face. The mistress slapped Historia and looked at her daughter with disgust.

Ian could hear the words from the hostess's mouth. She said to her biological daughter: "If I have the courage to kill this guy."

The woman looked at Historia with a nosebleed in disgust, put away the book, and left the meadow quickly.

The young Histria stood there blankly, looking at her mother's retreating back, seemingly at a loss.

That night the hostess made a request to leave the farm.

She said that she had obtained the lord's consent and that she would move to the town starting today.

Ian had an impression of this scene, which showed that the day when Wall Maria was breached was not far away. He had a sense of urgency in his heart, and he prepared harder. He went to the town to buy maps and plan an escape route. Prepare the horses. These things are on the agenda.

He was very careful not to have too much contact with Histria, so as not to let the child have a deep impression of him, lest he be involved in an unforeseen disaster.

But sometimes when I see the child standing alone in the pasture, I still feel a little distressed. I feel that she is just like myself in the previous life, so I gave her the toys from before.

They are toys made by Ian himself: a swallow-shaped kite, a spinning top and a bamboo dragonfly.

Occasionally I would bring her some candies, but I would never talk to her much.

Sometimes, Historia's sister would come to the farm to visit her. She was the heir to the ancestor. Every time she came, she would play with Historia for a long time, but when she left, she would erase the child's memory.

Finally, eight months after Historia came to the farm, in April of the following year, the news spread quickly, reaching every town.

"Wall Maria was breached by giants! Special report! Wall Maria was breached by giants!"

Messengers spread the news to every town, and the undercurrent that had been silent for a long time finally surged.
